Bought these for my 21 year-old son and they look great - can go from the classroom to the boardroom and everything in-between. He has a friend that has a similar pair of Red Wing Chukka's and his friend said they are the best pair of shoes he's ever had. Hoping these turn out that way too. Seem really durable and very nice looking. They do take a little breaking-in to conform to feet, but they look great.

Absolutely a beautiful, high quality shoe. I bought these for my husband to wear with casual office attire and for kicking around on the weekends. He loves them. The leather is stiff and high quality so it takes a bit of time to break in and feel totally comfortable. I'm thinking that these could be resoled someday if the rubber wears out. Highly recommend.

I love this boot. It's a bit narrow and the length is just right. The workmanship is first class and the boot just looks great.

These chukka boots are amazing, and the break-in period is instant. I wear them couple times in a week, and they feel great. You can dress up or down with these boots as well.

Overall: Excellent boot. I got this during a zappos sale for under $200.00 shipped (before taxes). Highly recommend for a durable, made in the USA, and stylish boot that works in both casual and business casual environments. Be sure if you get these to take good care of the leather so that these boots will last you for years. Overall 9/10. Fit: I wear a 9.5 in cole haan oxfords, 10.5 in sperry boat shoes, 9 in LL Bean bean boots, and I ordered these in 9D (medium width). 9D is perfect for my feet. I wear them with thin socks (polo brand) and they fit perfect. I don't have wide feet. The width works very well for my feet. The length is perfect. Break period for mine was a week. First few days were hell but that's to be expected with leather of this quality. After break-in they are extremely comfortable and surprisingly light-weight. Style: I work in a business casual office (no tie, no blazer, no sport jacket, etc). Button downs, chinos and some jeans and these compliment my office attire perfectly. In casual settings they go well with dark denim (copper rough & tough coloring) which look great in spring, fall & mild winter weather.

I purchased this shoe for my son's Christmas present. He walks on concrete floors all day with his job and needed a shoe that would provide plenty of support, as well as comfort. This was our first purchase of Red Wings. My son is very happy with the shoe. I purchased his true size, and it fits perfectly. These are really good looking shoes. Thanks, Zappos, for your assistance with my questions. It isn't easy to shop for someone else's shoes, but this was a great experience!

Of my chukkas these are these fall in the middle in terms of dressy. They are perfectly at home dressed up or down. Amazing quality as always from Red Wing and really love that neoprene sole. Super comfy!

First off, this is a handsome boot. The briar oil slick color will pair nicely with jeans, khakis, and even the right style of dressy causal wear. The break-in is going well, better than I thought. The leather feels a tad more supple than the original leather of the work chukka (with which I am also very pleased). The fit feels true to size. I wear a 10.5 and the foreman chukka is neither too large nor tight. I applied a light waterproof treatment which slightly darkened the color to an even more richer patina. Very comfortable already and I can imagine they well only get better. A quality footwear item which will see a wide range of use and look good doing it.

Amazing good looking shoe. Made like a tank. Does have a break in period longer than average but once you get there. Wow. If it feels perfect it’s probably too big. Just a little snug is what your going for. Not painful. Snug.

Great looking boot, but Zappos customers, please take care not to crease or mark up shoes if you are returning them. These shoes had significant creases in the toe box and the soles looked worn. For a $300 shoe, I'm going to put the first scratch on them, not accept someone else's scuffed shoes. This style is not discontinued so can't get another pair.

These boots are so well built. Very simple, timeless style that will look still good in 10 years. I have several other Red Wings that I do, indeed, wear from over ten years ago. This pair, however, were not so comfortable, so I returned them. I thought they would feel better than my Clark's chukkas, since they are better built, but they're about the same. They feel like you're wearing a nice dress shoe - comfortable, but not made for walking all day. The sole just didn't absorb the impact of a stride like their work boots do. I also have a pair of Allen Edmonds Normandies, which are more comfortable, but less sturdy. I wanted this chukka to be an everyday boot, between a work boot and a dress shoe, but I guess it's not to be.

About size: in nearly every other shoe, I am a consistent 10D. This chukka is size 10 was a little sloppy, but I found the 9.5 to be just right. The Red Wing Heritage Foreman was the winner of my search among nearly all of the product offerings in this category. The styling is simple, but it works for casual or, with the right pants, office casual. Chukkas on the market seem to fall into one of three classes: the purely cosmetic (like my most recent pair of Born Harrisons), the genuine articles (that is, these), and something in-between. In this boot Red Wing is offering a no-compromise genuine work-worthy boot that can function well for comfortable and fashion-appropriate daily wear. The leather is of the oiled-tough variety, but the boot is surprisingly comfortable during break-in, and the foot molding begins quickly. The leather finish is low maintenance, and can be oiled, polished, or allowed to just acquire and display its patina and war wounds. I', glad I found these (made in USA, no less). Recommended.

I really like these boots. They are snug in a good way; I know the leather will stretch just enough to give me a custom fit. I have tried a number of Chukkas and this is the keeper.

Very well made. Thick, beautiful leather. Feels solid. Heavy, hard to break in. Fits true to size for a boot, but gets larger as you break it in. I would order down a half size next time (12 to 11.5 for me). I wear a 12.5 in most other shoes (Nike, Born, etc). The Red Wing Weekender Chukka is a similar but much more comfortable boot (I have both).
