I'm so torn on this review. I've been a devoted Born shoe girl for a couple years now, but I have one very big issue with their boots that may have finally trumped all the positives. First the positives: These, like all Born shoes that I've owned, are insanely comfortable and super stylish. They have a great cushioned footbed, so even 14 hour shifts on my feet are a breeze. They're so comfortable, in fact, that when I get home I'm in no rush to take them off. Now my big negative: The coating on the heel comes off in record time, revealing a white interior. I've had these boots 20 days, and already the heels are wrecked. I can't imagine what I'm doing with the back of my feet that would consistently cause this on all of my Born shoes, but it's enough to make me leave the brand. Even if they made a small change to make the inside of the heels black I don't think I'd mind, but I can't keep spending this kind of money on shoes that don't even last a month.

Like other reviewers have noted - the black coating off the heel wears off in record time exposing a white interior, making the boot look worn and not in a good way. I have two pairs of these boots and love, love, love the fit and style but the worn heel really bugs me. It seems like Born should offer some sort of repair for this defect.

Unfortunately I had the same issue as the top reviewer. The black overlay has peeled off the heel of my boots - my choice now is to buy a new pair, which I really don't want for the price.

I have purchased this brand and similar. And, while, I haven't purchased these shoes I wanted to leave a comment about the white showing through on the heel. Typically, I have found, this happens on the right shoe. And the reason: Driving. When you use this foot to brake and accelerate you are rubbing it against the mats and the floor of the car. Over time the surface black on the heel rubs off. I have discovered this on a number of shoes and now wear a separate pair for driving and change my shoes when I get to my destination. A pain, but until they fix this issue that's my workaround. I hope this is helpful.

These boots are super cute, well made and comfortable. They do run ABOUT a half size too big as other reviewers stated - but not quite. I, unfortunately, wear a size 10.5 which Born doesn't bother to make. I normally have to go up a half size to an 11 in shoes. The 11 was much too big, so I tried the 10, but that is a smidge too small. It's really too bad because I love their shoes - fashionable comfort shoes. I have to return them even though I want them, disappointing.

Here's the deal. These fit like all other Borns. I own several pairs and buy new Borns every year because they are without a doubt the most comfortable boot I have ever owned. That said, these are pretty ugly after you have worn them for a few days. The front part (kinda sorta shaft) creases weird. They are too wide to wear with dresses or leggings and you have to be very conscious of the socks you wear since they will show. I would buy almost every other pair of Borns I own except this pair. I do not recommend at all unless you get a severely reduced price.

I love these shoes but the quality was very disappointing. I started wearing them regularly in November. The coating on the heels was worn off by January.

Hello, Kerri, my old friend... I got my first pair of Kerri’s (a lovely light gray that I think is now discontinued) 3 years ago. I was immediately in love. The wide-enough toe box, the low heels, the style, the comfort. The fact that they’re lower than many booties is great for a shorter girl like me. My legs look longer in then than in other booties. They were and are pretty close to perfect. (I still wear them.) 1 year ago, I got a black pair of Kerri’s. Fantastic. Of course. This year, I wanted brown booties. I tried another Born style...and sent them back. They just weren’t comfortable on my toes. Too tight. And they slipped on my heels too much. I got my 3rd pair of Kerri’s and let out a sigh of bliss when I put them on. I love these shoes. My feet love these shoes. These shoes love my feet. I now have 3 pairs, and even the oldest is still wearable (and SO comfy). Born, please don’t ever stop making this style. By the way, my favorite way to wear these is with terrycloth shoe inserts. You can find them on Amazon. They have rubber on the bottom and terrycloth on the top layer. They’re comfortable, washable, sweat-soaking little secrets that allow me to wear shoes with no socks...without stinking my family out of the house when I take my shoes off.

Went up half size based on what I typically wear in boots (which is always a 9). These babes were comfortable straight out of the box. I did have to use my shoe horn to get into the boots, but that is me with most of my boots. Other reviewers mention it’s difficult inserting your foot, I recommend a shoe horn and you shouldn’t have any issues. We wear boots in the PNW all year round so these will get a lot of use and will look super cute with skirts and fun rompers too!

I ordered these 3 months ago and loved the color, style and material. I’ve worn them less than 10 times and have not walked in rain or snow. They have been worn at the office. I am really disappointed in the quality as the upper is separating from the sole. For this price point, I would expect much higher quality and a longer lasting shoe.

These fit just great. They are super cute. Easy on/off. Rubber sole. I love the look too. Good shoe for the price.

Fit was great - am only returning these due to small manufacturer defect (see image of incorrect seam/gathering at sole on right inner arch area) - will purchase another of the same pair. Leather is thick and handsome and with some care, should last for years (as Borns do!) I live in Manhattan and am looking forward to walking these 5-10miles/day this fall/winter.

This might be the only pair of Born in a size 12. TG!!! They are not a generous 12, but ok enough to wear a semi mid weight sock. Seems well made-have worn them only half dozen times w/out any issues. I would not recommend for anyone who has to be on their feet all day. Just my opinion & comfort level. Born-PLEASE offer size 12 in women's on all your shoes & boots. How crazy is it that you don't in this day & age?!

Really comfortable. Fits well. I get lots of compliments on them. Not really a walking shoe, though they only start to hurt after two miles. More of a going out/work shoe.

I wish I'd read the reviews before ordering. Was surprised when the boots arrived that the heels had a fuzzy texture—like flocking—weird and unattractive. I still liked the boots enough to give them a try and they were very comfortable. But after only a half day of wear the flocking rubbed off (from driving, I guess) on the back of the right heel revealing what looks like white plastic underneath. Looks terrible. Bad/bizarre choice of materials that not only looks bad but doesn't hold up. Returned.

This is my 2nd pair of these booties. They are so cute I wanted more than 1 color! I ordered my usual size & they fit perfectly. To zip up the back I have to push my foot forward & must wear them with thin no-show footies, I would not wear these with regular socks.

After enjoying some boots by Born, I tried this pair, and kept them for a week, even though my heel slipped out of the right shoe, and the left shoe pinched my toes. Could my feet be that strange, or was it something in the way the shoes themselves were constructed. I kept thinking they would normalize while wearing them around my apartment. I felt like one of Cinderella's step sisters, but there was no ball coming up. Wanting them to work is always risky. I contemplated taking them to the shoe repair to have one shoe stretched while adding a heel guard to the other but then it seemed like too much work. I've read many times with customer reviews, that shoes should feel good right out of the box. That's my new mantra.

The reviews were spot-on. I am a true 10.5 and most often have to size up to an 11. I ordered the size 10 and they fit fabulously! Ready to order in another color!!!

I have hard to fit feet (nothing seems comfortable enough to get through a full workday without pain), but Born boots are usually a solid win for me. I bought these last year in the pretty grey suede and love them. Bought the black leather ones this year and thinking about splurging and getting the brown leather ones too! They fit my feet snug and comfortable. They're not perfectly comfortable all day, but dang close. The heel is perfect if you're doing lots of walking. They go with about anything, but I'm old enough I wear them with whatever I want and don't really give to hoots if anyone else likes them. You might not look to me for fashion advice, but I promise you won't go wrong with these boots. I Normally get a 9 in Born boots to have room for heavy socks, but I like these in a 8.5 for a more snug fit and thin sock.

LOVE these shoes. They are amazingly comfortable and look good with jeans, skirts, dresses. I have gotten tons of compliments on them. I ordered these and a pair of Corso Como to see which I liked better and ended up keeping both.

Very happy with these! Many boots bother my neuroma by exerting pressure from the top and sides of the shoe, or because of a small toe box. I wasn't sure these would work because they aren't overly round in the toe, but they feel great. I bought a 9 and it felt true to size if not a tad roomy. It is difficult to find blue boots so this was a victory.

As others have mentioned these boots fit me 1/2 size smaller than normal. I ordered the 'cognac' color actually hoping that in person the boots would not be as brown as they appear in the photo. I lucked out. The cognac color is really closer to tan in person, which is what I was looking for. If you want a rich honey brown color these are not it. So far they are super comfortable. I just wish I could fine some 'no show' socks that wouldn't slip off my foot when I walk, but that's an entirely different issue. :)

So comfortable. Only draw back, they really do need to be protected with a spray. The first time I wore them they got small speckled stain on them.

I wanted so much for this shoe to fit. I LOVED the style, so adorable, but they were just too narrow for my wide toes. So I am still searching for a black leather bootie with a wider toe area.
