I've been buying Vans Authentics for years, and these Authentic Pros definitely run a half-size larger. So if you always buy a size 12 Authentic, get a size 11.5 Authentic Pro. With that being said, the added structure of the Pros doesn't really seem to add much comfort to the shoe. Whereas the old Authentics could be broken in over time to essentially feel like cloth, these shoes are much more rigid (especially at the heel). The cushy insole is the main area of improvement for comfort - so if Vans just made a regular Authentic with the cushy insole, it would be far better than these Authentic Pros.

The Authentic PRO is a more rigid and sturdy version of the Authentic Classic. Definitely has a longer break-in period but construction is better and more durable. Biggest difference is the thick heel cushion. The PRO is also narrower towards the toe than the Authentic Classic and is not as flexible. As someone who skateboards in these regularly, I like the studier Pro model. If you're purchasing them for skateboarding, I think the Authentic PRO is worth the extra money. However, if you're just getting shoes for everyday wear, Authentic Classics are a better option. FYI - The laces pictured in my review are NOT the laces that come included with the shoe. I swapped in my own laces from a previous Vans Authentics.

FYI: Comes with white laces too! I got this shoe because I wanted something that could be worn casual or semi-casual (I have a pair of leather sneakers when I'm a bit more dressed up, but have to be careful about the weather; so these are great alternates for rainy/snowy days). They're still a bit stiff since I haven't worn them much yet, but they are comfortable out of the box. Best surprise was it looks even better in person.

These definitely seemed to run a little larger than my other Vans in the same size which actually means they run true to size as I usually have to go a half size up. Vans are great as far as quality go and these are no exception.

These shoes are made in correctly. They are causing massive blisters on my pinkey toe. The shoe is the right size, but very uncomfortable.

Just what my son wanted - all white. He wears these almost every day. We both enjoy wearing Vans of this style. I like how they make my larger foot appear smaller. He loves wearing them with cuffed jeans. These accommodate orthotics for arch support and heel stability, too.

This was my first purchase of Vans shoes. I bought them for cycling. I love the checkered pattern. I needed to exchange them for a 1/2 size smaller.

Perfect shoe and design.

I ordered a size too large but they still fit really well. One of the most comfortable pair of vans I own. I’ve had them for over a year now and they’ve healed up great. Definitely worth getting if you’re a fan of vans shoes.

my son has been wearing vans for over 10 years. he won't wear any other brand of sneakers. he loves the different designs and the classic look.

Removable insole was a plus

If you are into Classic vintage style then this is for you. Feels very comfortable

It fit pretty good. It rubbed on top of my middle toe and pinky toe as well sometimes. I used to get these and similar sneakers in a size smaller, but this time I sized up. Material is beautiful. Color is beautiful. I purposely got these, because I felt the shoe colors were more versatile to wear with black or white. With the exception of the rubbing from time to time, this is an overall comfortable and stylish sneaker.

I had to order a half size bigger for my husband. He wears a 10 1/2 and I had to order an 11. He loves this shoes.

Bought these for my son. He loves them. Very nice shoes.

Ordered my first pair of Van’s since the early 80’s. Super excited to get them. They were a little tight, but expected it would take a few weeks of breaking them in. Right shoe did fantastic, but left shoe never seemed to relax. I got to looking at them and the left toe box is smaller than the right one. I did not notice that when I got them. Contacted Vans and they won’t honor any warranty because I wore them and purchased from Zappos. Had them a little over a month and wore them 4 times. So disappointed. Vans quality and customer service seemed better back in the day.

Not the most comfortable but for a growing tween finding fashion they’re great
