I purchased this for my small, 11 year old middle school aged son. It's a great pack, in so many ways. He walks to school, and like so many middle schoolers is required to use a ginormous zippered binder. The darned binder is so incredibly heavy that it's a struggle for him to manage it on the long walk. We figured he could put it in a backpack and use his back to do the work. Sadly, it didn't work for him, only because it doesn't fit the binder. It's a perfect pack, otherwise. A taller kid could just get the larger version of this but he's too small. We ended up getting a different Dakine pack (the Prom) which is wider and easily fits the binder.

Super cool backpack I always was a Dakine fan and my first Dakine lived for 13 years so I think this will last same. Great quality and super cool cooler pocket.

My teenage son picked this out for this school year, I can tell you, the back support is great, it’s spacious, and it’s black. My son received it, and was very happy with his choice and me purchasing it! He was also very pleased zbout Zappos overnight shipping. Will order for my younger son also.

I bought this for my eight-year-old son and he tends to be hard on stuff and it seems to be very high-quality so far. He is not a big guy and the size fits him just perfect.
