The shoes felt nice the entire 9 months I wore them. They were used as work shoes in and indoor environment. Unfortunately, the stitching has come undone on the top of the left shoe, and the top of the right shoe has started to disintegrate. I contacted Miz Mooz, and they do not stand behind their product after 6 months. To me that is unacceptable for the price they charge for the shoe.

I've been looking for a basic pair of oxford shoes I can wear on days when I am not in my running shoes, casual sneakers, or snow boots. For fit/foot comparison's sake, in case you have feet like mine: I am a true 8.5, medium width but for small tailor's bunions developing on the small toe side, very high arches, high instep. I tend towards over pronation and walk with a first metatarsal drop (meaning I strike the ground with the big toe side of my foot first, especially when running) for which I have compensatory orthotics. On to the shoe: For being a basic oxford with a toe cap, this is a really pretty shoe. The leather is soft and pliable right tout of the box, so I doubt there would be a break in period of discomfort (I am looking at you, Frye). The interior of the shoe is also soft leather (yay, no cheap fabric lining). The heel is low and the foot bed is basic (no cushioning or "memory foam", which seems to be quite popular these days). There is no arch support, if this is a concern for you. For my high arches, I'll have to put in an arch support "cookie" to make them suitable for my foot. They don't have a removable foot bed and there's not enough room for my custom inserts, sadly. Two caveats. First, the shoe is a true medium width, but it's tight right across the spot on my foot where I have developed tailor's bunions (the little bump on the side of the base of the small toe). Because they are leather, I can have them professionally stretched right at that spot (if I can find a cobbler still in business). If you have bunions at the forefoot, this could be an issue, depending on your foot's basic width. Two, based on another reviewer's issues with quality after just six months (the toe cap stitching came undone), I am not certain this shoe would hold up to stretching. This is not a super high quality, artisan built shoe that you can expect to last for years through multiple repairs and new soles. I am guessing, based on my experience with other Miz Mooz shoes, that these will last for two seasons of regular wear (and I take excellent care of my shoes). Bottom line, going to take a few days to decide whether to keep them, but out of the ten (!) pairs I ordered from more than a half dozen manufacturers (thank you Zappos!!!), these were far and away my favorites.

I have purchased a zillion shoes on zappos, but this is the first time I feel compelled to write a review because THESE MAY BE THE MOST PERFECT SHOE. I usually wear a 6.5, so I was curious that these came in half sizes, but even so, the 6 fit me best and looked most proportional on my foot. They are so comfortable, so classic, so well made that I immediately came back after one day of wear to order in black. My first pair in Brandy will go well with just about anything EXCEPT black, and that is what I wear the most. Even though I have many black shoes, these are the perfect blend of professional, comfortable, and unique -- that also will look fabulous with casual wear. Soft leather that feels like butter on your feet right out of the box. Enough arch support in the smaller size to keep me feeling sturdy. My toes have plenty of room to wiggle without feeling lost. I cannot emphasize how much I love these shoes. I wish I had bought these months ago because I probably would not have purchased a number of shoes since then! Including other Miz Mooz that I love ... just not as much as these.

I've always wanted a pair of, what my Dad called, brogans. Now I have them in a smart red. The accommodated my inserts well which compensated for their med-high volume style. The footbed is relatively narrow, but there's room for a tall foot. My low-volume narrow feet worked well with the sport shoe inserts. Nice leather uppers and stacked look. The rubber bottoms keep them quiet and comfy. High quality, nearly like a pair of Frye shoes I own. Now I can click my heels "there's no place like..."

Buttery soft and comfortable. I have bunions, so I ordered a half-size up and they were perfect. The red is very dark, so it didn’t look like an outrageous fashion choice. It was just enough color to look cool. This was my first pair of Miz Mooz, but they won’t be my last.

Supple leather, very comfortable shoe. Style is a bit bland. I have rather wide feet with a big toe pointing upward and this shoe fits well.

i had a hard time finding these shoes in my size and was happy that Zappos had one pair left in what I thought were the “ocean” color. I tried them on (with dim lighting), felt great (leather is so sift) and wore them to work. I did not notice until there was sunlight coming in the room that I got one shoe in black and the other one in ocean (dark teal)!!! I’ll be contacting Zappos and hopefully they can send me the right shoe.

I usually have trouble with oxfords, because of stiff backs that scrape the back of my ankle. This shoe is buttery soft and doesn't have this problem - it fit like a glove immediately (which never happens for me!) and I love the deep blue green Ocean color. It's dark and almost looks black, but you can see the color in the lighter sections. The insole is squishy and comfortable, and I'll have room for a thin insert if it gets less comfortable after wear. The rubbery sole adds a little extra comfort too. Since it is very soft leather I imagine it will scrape easily, but I'm okay with a few scrapes.

These were more formal than what I wanted them for. They are high quality, nicely made shoes made in Portugal. The leather feels soft and felt very comfortable for the bit I wore them around the house. I ended up not keeping them because they didn't fit my intended purpose. If you're looking for something a bit formal or have a professional job, I highly recommend.

Overall, I really love this shoe. I've got much-wider-than-average feet, and was looking for a shoe that I could "hit the ground running" with, rather than the painful break-in process I typically go through. These almost do that for me. The uppers are made of super soft leather (so the break-in process has been relatively pain-free) and they have a pretty supportive footbed. I think these would work best for anyone who has average-to-slightly-wide feet.

Very, very comfortable and good looking. I'm usually a 41, and these were true to size. I have feet that are on the wide side of medium, and these worked well. The leather is nice. The two tone outsole vs upper is attractive and slimming. I hesitated on the soft rubber outsole, though. It looks like leather, but it's all synthetic. I worried about how long that would last, and cobblers can't repair these types of one piece injection molded soles. They can try but my previous experience with that was a mess. I reluctantly sent these back.

I loved the look of this shoe and the leather was soft. I have a wide foot but some med width shoes will fit if the style is round toe. Sadly these were too narrow for me so I had to send them back. Very handsome shoe though.

I have foot problems, the first time I wore them I walked a solid 8 hours at work. Did not have ANY problems or pain! I am waiting to get these in black. Worth every penny! Also they look so cute with slacks

Love these. First pair of Miz Mooz. I wanted a mens type of shoe and these were perfect. Leather is gorgeous (made in Portugal). Very comfortable and elegant. Nice soles- not slippery prone. I wish the laces were less stiff but that’s consistent with some dress shoes I think.

These shoes are soft, light and classy! I liked them so much, I immediately bought a second pair in another color. Comfortable right out of the box!

I may have had a defective pair, but these started cracking and greying before I even had a chance to wear them outside. Unfortunate, since the shoe style is very nice looking and comfortable and I could see it going with many outfits. All the other reviews seem positive so maybe mine was a one-off? Not really leather? I don't know. I contacted Zappos about it before returning and they handled it wonderfully. Great company; funky (not in a good way) shoe.

This is a beautiful shoe, however, the toe box is too narrow for my foot. Wish they came in wide, which they don't, but 1/2 size bigger worked for me.

These fit like a dream! They are perfect for my narrow feet and don't slip in the heel like most shoes do for me. They feel like they were custom made for my feet and already feel broken in. The deep red color of the shoe is hard to find and it's so rich and true to the color in the photo. I have just found my go-to shoe brand. Yay!

5 stars all the way. Have been wearing Miz Mooz boots for years and this pair of black brogans, which are more like a short bootie, are as good as I’d come to expect from Miz Mooz. Their footbed works terrific for me: wide enough toe box that doesn’t compress my feet, and narrow enough heel that won’t slip. Gorgeous leather. Love the leather footbed inside as well. So comfortable, little to no break-in. I sized up from my usual 36 to a 37 to wear with a bit thicker sock, and they’re just right, but if wearing with a thin or no sock you might want to keep your regular size. Wish they had more styles in shoes and heels because these feel so good wearing and look good as well. Just a classy brand of footwear.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I can not even express how WONDERFUL these shoes are. I LOVE loafers, oxfords and classic styles....this one got SO MANY compliments (red). The pop of color is a fabulous surprise...the leather is BUTTERY soft and the toes area sturdy...love love love love - worth EVERY penny.

Lovely shoes. Soft leather, good fit. However, leather inside was damaged in some places. It's thin and likely will damage more.

I read and saw pics of one of the reviews for this shoe (not sure if it was on this site) that they have the toe box lined with what appears to be some sort of paper. I had hoped it was a fluke. I don't pay $150 for shoes that have paper as part of the shoe. Beautiful shoe, but they ruined them with that cheap, short-cut:( I'm ordering the Miz Mooz Fly, and am hoping I don't see the same thing. Also wasn't a fan of the rubber sole.
