I tried these in a 6.5 and a 7. I sent them both back. Although gorgeous, these shoes had less room in the toe area (from bottom to top) than the Scarpa's that I kept. They rubbed the top of my foot wrong.

Very comfortable boot to wear, but it tilts my foot inward so not the right shoe for me. Sadly my search continues.

These are fantastic boots. They're comfortable, supportive, and attractive (as far as hiking boots go). I bought them for a recent trip to Argentina and Chile that included the "W" Trek in Patagonia and hikes in the Atacama Desert. I never got a blister (I did proactively treat a few hot-spots) and my feet felt good even after a 16 mile day-long hike. I have narrow, low-volume feet and based on the other reviews, it sounds like those with wider feet might do better with a different boot.

lightweight, grippy and very comfortable. After wearing Zamberlans for years, and trying on Keen, Saloman, and Scarpa, Salewa is the winner.

These shoes are flat out fantastic. I researched a gazillion kinds of hiking boots for a trip to Iceland. Somehow I decided on these. I loved them right away and they fit perfectly right out of the box. They worked well in flat Chicago, but how would they do in the extreme conditions in Iceland?! I just got back and these boots were spectacular. They are sturdy and kept my ankle/heel safe and secure. They didn't get hot and i had on wool socks with a base liner. I'm not sure how they'll do in the heat, say a hike in colorado. But in chillier temps, they were ideal. Oh, and not to mention these are the freaking coolest looking boot out there! Never once did I get a blister or did they rub my feet in a bad way. Great, great hiking boot.

Let me start by saying that these boots are gorgeous! On line they look bulky, is not like love at first sight. But as soon as you open the box you love them, why: style great and somehow feminine which is rare when it comes to hiking boots... Once you slide your foot you feel comfortable, super ankle support, grip great, water proof all the way... Your heel feels secure, the perfect boots for backpacking, light or heavy loads. Oh, the color super cool, lacing system perfect... BUT: HERE IS THE BIG NO NO!! WHICH HAS BEEN SAID BY THE OTHER REVIEW. THEY ARE NARROW,THEY ARE NOT MEDIUM W AS SAID, NARROW... I HAVE A SKINNY FEET SO I SAID THEY WILL BE PERFECT FOR ME. NOT AT ALL. IF YOUR FEET ARE NARROW, LUCKY YOU, BUY THEM YOU'LL BE HAPPY AND WELL PROTECTED. Broken period is like a about a week just because they are 1 pound 1 ounce each boot, after that you'll be fine. Unfortunately, I hate to say it but I need to keep looking for my perfect boots to do my upcoming Camino de Santiago Spain for 35 days... NARROW FEET THESE ARE YOUR GORGEOUS BOOTS. I tried to keep them, but the pain in my ball were instantly because of the tightness of my toes.

By far the best hiking boots in comfort and performance. Have been hiking for years and before I purchased these Salewa's, I wore Salomon's (which are also great, but I always wear away the bottom treads too quickly). These hiking boots run slightly narrow, so if you have a wide foot, not sure they will work? The look and feel with the amazing lacing system is perfect, plus they are built to last. Have them for about a year now (mine is a different color) and no signs of wear! Highly recommend!

If you have narrow feet, these may be perfect for you. The shoes hugged my feet nicely and didn't feel like they would need much wear to break them in. I tend to have trouble finding hiking shoes due to my slightly narrow feet, so I was very pleased to find that these didn't slip on my feet at all. (Narrow or AA shoes are often far too narrow for me, but Average or B shoes can be too wide and gap around my arches.) I'm not sure about keeping them, though, because the toe bed is also a bit narrow and I'm aware of the left shoe rubbing slightly against the outside of my pinky toe and my toes feel a little bit crunched together.

Was hoping this would work but the boots were too narrow for my daughter.
