Finally got around to road-testing this shoe on a forced march orchestrated by my dog. Two miles, blissfully unaware of what I had on my feet. (Lack of shoe awareness is my Gold Standard for shoe comfort.) I concluded later that while the shoe is very comfortable for walking or sitting, the arch support might be a little lacking for someone who has to stand in one place for long periods of time. As an experiment, I slipped in an over-the-counter insert with a hint of arch support, and I think I'll leave it in place. Like another recent reviewer, I have a narrow foot, and this 8.5N (my usual size) is pretty close to perfect. The extra insert took up a little bit of the extra room that is pretty common in shoes for me, but they weren't bad at all before I added the accessory. The look is kind of "meh"...Even my grandmotherly self doesn't love the unsexy style, but I wear pants 99% of the time (please alert me if you see me outside the other 1%) and these are forgettable: they attract no attention whatsoever, making them versatile and particularly handy for travel. Points were deducted for questionable arch support and the fact that they aren't stilettos.

Fabulous shoe. Wore them all day right out of the box without any problems. Clark's did it just right with these shoes. I wear a 9-9.5N, and I ordered these in a 9. The size is perfect. Thank you Clark's and Zappos.

They fit! Finally, a narrow size that fits my narrow foot perfectly. I love these shoes. I'd been wearing Munros but can't afford them anymore--I can buy three pairs of these for the price of one Munro. Although I have a high arch, I can wear these without extra arch support, thankfully. Good with pants and skirts.

Super comfortable. Soft leather does not aggravate any part of my foot. I am wearing them barefoot but there is enough room for socks. sufficient arch support for my flat feet. I may order another pair if there are other color options available.

These are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Wore them all day out of the box, and then bought another pair in dark brown.They fit like gloves and although I thought they looked a bit like 'grandmother' shoes in the picture, they actually are pretty good looking with jeans. They have a bit more shine to the leather than I'd like, but the comfort makes up for that - and I imagine that they will get better looking with age! My feet are pretty hard to satisfy, so I'm really happy with these shoes!

I really like this shoe for everyday wear at the office in dress casuals or jeans. So stylish! It feels like it was formed exactly for my feet. One warning - it runs narrow - but I wear thinner socks now and it's perfect. I tried the wide and they were too loose. My normal size is 7.5M and that's what I ordered.

I wanted a pair of shoes that was stylish, yet extremely comfortable as I am on my feet at work all day, in a uniform, so black shoes are required. I have some foot issues so a good shoe is a must. Due to these foot issues and my quest for comfortable shoes, I have other pairs of black shoes for work including Danskos, Clogs, and Softstep. They are good shoes, not pretty or trendy, and I still have plenty of foot pain when I get home after a long day. Rotating shoes helps. But these shoes? Oh yes. They look good. And not only that, they feel good! Usually I can't take a pair of shoes out of the box and wear them at work all day, but with these shoes I could. They have lots of space in the toebox, yet they don't look wide! They look like short boots when worn with my uniform. The heel is the right height. There is nothing I can say that isn't good about these shoes. They look good for regular wear also. (not just for work) I always wear a size 10 and sometimes a size 10 isn't roomy. I ordered a 10 and they were too big. Zappos, sent a pair of 9.5 which arrived within a day, and it is just right. These shoes fit my feet better than any I've tried. Many times when I get a shoe that fits my toe area, the heel is too big, but not in this case. The strap is great too for adjusting if necessary. These shoes might be great for others who have issues with their feet too. I like Clark's but at times they are too narrow for me. These are just right.

I've needed an extremely comfortable shoe for months now due to a 25 year old bunion repair that's decided to be a pain, again! I read a lot of the reviews for this shoe and was convinced it was what I was looking for. IT IS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! It shut up my old bunion repair the minute I put the shoes on and I never noticed the dadgum bunion for the rest of the day. LOVE THIS SHOE!

These are by far the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned! When I first put them on it felt like I had been wearing them forever. I addition, they were true to size.

I like the color; it's useful with many items in my wardrobe. It is snug to get on, but then it is very comfortable. Have not worn them yet, but expect they will be great straight out of the box. I like Clarks products more than almost all others. I wear a narrow, and so few brands offer that width.

Nice looking shoe. True to size and width. I was told shoe did not have a metal shank (I was looking for shoe that won't set off metal detector) but it did set off detector. Shoe has metal supports. I can pass through detector provided I am not wearing certain necklaces and no zippers on coat.

Great shoes! I purchased these two years ago and they are still going strong. They did get pretty scuffed, but I treated these with a leather conditioner and the scuffs faded right away. Fit is great.

I can't remember the last time I tried on a pair of shoes, and they fit without any bending or stretching. These were so comfortable that I immediately ordered a second pair in brown. No break in required.

I wanted to keep these shoes because they were so soft and comfy. Wonderful for those of us with bunions. Unfortunately, they were too wide at the instep and I couldn't tighten them with the small Velcro closure.

Comfort and style go hand-in-hand with this loafer. I needed something for travel, knowing I would be taking my shoes off the traverse airport security. These are perfect for the job. Easy on, easy off.

This is a really nice looking shoe for walking. I had to return because the inner sides stuck out when you walk. Might be due to shoe being 1/2 size too large.

I have to agree with Louise from FL. I too put on the shoes and promptly forgot about them. No wear-in required. I've used the shoe horn the first few times because I want my shoes to last for a long time. I use a wide shoe and these are perfect but look petite. I don't think the shoe is quite a grandma shoe and with pants they look nice. I would like a little more arch support in a perfect world but overall I have put this shoe on the top of my list. I will definitely buy another pair for when the sad day comes that I have worn out the shoes! I have plantar fasciitis and my heals do not hurt; but I do not stand for many hours either.

These shoes were immediately comfortable. I have narrow feet with a very narrow heel, and these shoes hug my heel with no slipping as so often is the case. The style is great with jeans.

Very comfortable right out of the box and it is hard for me to find shoes that fit.

I love the look of this shoe. Can use with jeans or with slacks. It does seem a little narrower than the other Clarks I have, but that is actually better for me.

About a month earlier I had purchased some Clark boots , size 8 medium. They fit perfectly so I ordered these shoes in a size 8 medium. Unfortunately, they were way too big....It probably had to do with wearing socks. Anyway, my foot size is a 7 1/2 and boarders on wide. I bought them in the 7 1/2 medium and they fit perfectly.
