These boots are pretty rad. On any given day at work, I might be meeting with upper management, working in my office, wrangling hazardous waste drums, hiking down into the draw to count russian olive trees, or doing a burrowing owl survey. These do a pretty solid job of doing it all. They're not hardcore backpacking boots, but they do well on moderate hikes, in rain and snow, and on rocks. They're burlier than most chukkas and dress boots, but they work in my fairly casual office, in a fairly casual Western state). And they look good sitting at a brewery or on an evening out (in a mountain town, at least). They are fairly high volume, run a little wide, and run a little big. I generally tend to wear size 11 - or even larger in backpacking boots - but the 10.5 was just right for me.

The gusseted tongue HURTS. Leaves bruise and blister on ankle bones of both feet. Loved the look, loved the comfort otherwise, but had to return due to bruising on ankles. Sad.

I have had three pairs of Danner boots. But I would not recommend these because they don’t breathe. They’re hot. And not in the Paris Hilton™? sense. They become uncomfortable. So... sorry, Danner, but these are no good.

EXACTLY what I was looking for. I have a pound the pavement sales job in NYC. I walk A LOT. I was looking for a boot that is hip, handsome, comfortable, waterproof and with a relatively sleek shell. Boom!! It’s the second day of April and it snowed all morning. By afternoon, there were tons of puddles. I stepped into one of dubious depth and completely submerged the right boot. It came out dry!! If you can get away with a casual boot for work, this is the one! Not for suit days and fantastic the rest of the time.

Love them! Hiked 30 miles in 7 days in Utah right after I bought them. No blisters and my feet felt great! I usually wear a 9-9.5 and I ended up with an 8.5.

Initially these were comfortable out of the box but when I started actually wearing them the tongue started digging into the top of my foot. Then started doing it to the other one. Had to return them which is unfortunate because they looked great and felt good until the pain started. I contacted Danner and they said they've heard of this from other customers and it would be mentioned in their QC meeting next week. They offered me a 30% coupon but can't really trust this brand for the time being.

After one day in my office, this is what these shoes look like. Wish I had a do over.

Beautiful design, lofty insole, well constructed. Pros: actually waterproof, lightweight, built to last, soft, comfortable step, rugged lug outsole that grips well on many surfaces. Good for light hiking/winter/wearing casually. Cons: no arch support in any way. Made in Vietnam, not USA like the (far more expensive) leather Danner hikers are. Also, the gusset can rub your ankle uncomfortably at times. Haven't tested that on a longer hike as yet.

I bought these boots to wear traveling around Germany & Ireland for my honeymoon. I only have had them for a little over a year and the canvas has worn through where my foot creates a crease. For the cost of these boots, I would expect them to last a bit longer than just over a year! Don't buy them they don't last for the price!

These shoes were way too big and not true to size at all. Get a full size smaller in my opinion.

The fit was good in length, however, I experienced pressure points near the sewing or attachment to the tongue. Very good looking shoes especially the color scheme.

Great looking boots. Comfortable and dry on Denver streets and in the mountains.

Nice boot, short break-in. Felt fairly light and good for daily wear.

I have had these for a few weeks and I haven't taken them off. Great shoe and quality appears to be top notch.

I purchased a size smaller based on previous reviews saying they ran large. Nope, they were too small and I had to exchange for my usual size. They have no arch support which is good for my flat feet. They were a little stiff out of the box but broke-in quickly and are now really comfortable. They are well made and look durable. Looking forward to wearing them this winter in the snow.

Bought these for work (UPS driver). I’m looking for something durable, waterproof, and all black. These aren’t waterproof, just walking in wet grass made my feet wet. The soles aren’t slip resistant. The only thing is they look good and feel good out of the box.

Very hot boot in warm weather. I have worked outdoors for many years and typically go through a pair of boots about every two years. That being said I have never owned a pair of boots that made my feet hot. Need to work on breathable membrane because these simply don't. That aside, great boot.

wish there were more color combos to chose from. this combo looked extremely cheap in person.

Looks great, but not comfortable as my ankle rubs badly on the inside. Doesn't seem to be the usual Danner quality either. Made in Vietnam even though Danner's whole brand is about being from Portland.

I really wanted to like this shoe, I’m usually a 9. Ordered a 9 and 8.5, the 8.5 fit. I return these shoes due to a very sharp area in the right ankle area. Terribly bad running that was painful and that’s just in the first 2 minutes of trying them on. This is the second pair of 8.5s that I’ve tried and had the same problem. Not recommended.
