I like foundation garments, and own a number of Spanx, including the older version of this one. I was looking for something that would give medium smoothing from my bra line to my upper thighs. Most foundation wear now only comes in firm and extra firm, so I've found my best option is to order one size up, giving me smoothing effects, without feeling super squeezed. Spanx has drastically changed their fabric. Previously they used a soft, four way stretch material that never rolled, always stay put, but was prone to ripping if you caught it on zippers/rings/shoes/etc.... Spanx is now using this miserable shiny silky material that is less prone to ripping, but rolls down and up like crazy. It has also lost all its breathability, so you now feel like a hot half stuffed over squeezed sausage. Trying it on once was enough to confirm that I was going to endure the same miserable experience with the other new shiny Spanx. I wasn't about to endure a day of misery.

I have the older version on this style and love it. I had a tummy tuck so am wearing it 24/7 for weeks now so really needed a new one. Just like pantyhose after heavy use, it gets stretched and worn out. I was hoping to buy the same one but this is the closest thing. Well, this one is horrible! The gusset is split (which I like) but made of the same stretchy material so it gives a terrible front wedgie! No amount of adjusting would help the camel toe. The split gusset in the older version is completely made of cotton instead. Also, the top part rolls down! Immediately when trying it on for the first time it instantly rolled down causing a thick roll that is uncomfortable and shows in clothing. This garment is a piece of trash - I wish that I could return it!

I wasn't able to wear them long enough to really know if they'd roll down or be comfortable? Why?? Because an hour after putting them on, I peed all over them trying to go to the bathroom. I wanted to love them, but they just don't work for me.

I got these to wear under a dress to a fancy Gala I was attending. I found overall they fit well. The high waist was a little TOO high on me though. It ended up coming up just past my underwire/bra bottom. The only issue I had was a few hours into the event, I realized the tighness of the pants were causing my underwire to push so hard into my rib that it began to have a dull ache. I went to the bathroom and tried to fix them, but it was difficult because the waist was coming up so high. In hindsight, I probably should have put the pants waist underneath the bra and I would have been fine. Just a word to the wise. Other than that issue, they help up well, fit right, made the dress look amazing in all the right places, and didn't roll in the tummy area.

Not bad! This is my first pair of Spanx. They did what they promised...sucked me in. Short of having to be a trapeze artist to put them on, they are pretty comfortable. Make sure you order a size large enough or they will roll.

They roll down! I love the original ones, they never rolled and I have owned them for 10 years. These fit nice but they roll down.

I’m a size 8/10, so a medium should have fit me, but my weight is just barely in the large range, so a medium kept rolling down and wouldn’t stay put. Exchanged for a large and it fits perfectly. Makes it much more comfortable and smoother to wear more fitted skirts in the summer; the mid-thigh short is thin and prevents chafing.

I was really disappointed with these. I chose my normal size in Spanx, and the compression would’ve been perfect, but it’s impossible to keep the top band from rolling down into an uncomfortable and unflattering line. Unfortunately, I’ll have to return these.

I’m 111lbs and 5’2”, and the size small fit well. It rolls down-that is a fact. Fix this Spanxx!!! Ugh. Also, the material is paper thin. The second fitting for my dress wearing these, and my fingernail went straight through the side. The nails are not long, either. They aren’t challenging to put on, and yes they are snug, but they are supposed to be. On the upside, they are comfortable. They make any bumps or bulges disappear. But sadly, I have to return these before I can even wear them to my event!

I wore these all evening under a dress at an outdoor wedding. They stayed in place, smoothed out my muffin top, and felt quite comfortable. Practice taking them down ahead of your event for restroom visits.

Sucks and holds you in while smoothing everything out.

Love these! Comfortable and smooth everything out under dresses. Other spanx i've ordered have a seam up the stomach so if you are wearing something really tight it can show- these are my new favorites.

These are a wonderful addition to my shapewear collection. I own 3 pairs of the nude and two of the black shapers in size 1xl. I wear this style almost every day with just almost all outfits (slacks, skirts, jeans and shorts, skorts. This shaper provides firm yet comfortable control for all my figure issues...a lower tummy pooch, muffin top and a saggy tush. This shaper is VERY thin, so use care when dressing, but once you et into it, you will be surprised by the degree of control provided. It absolutely controls my issues....after a few minutes, you will for get you are wearing it...its that comfortable, but the mirror will show the results. I generally wear thigh hi stockings under this shaper as it helps to hold the stockings in place and sometimes if I'm having a "fat day", I'll wear control top panty hose under this shaper. For a special occasion outfit, such as a party, I will wear one of my other Spanx shapers, such as Oncore or Thinstincts which provide more figure control, but for every day wear the Higher Power high waist long leg shapers are great. Size runs a bit large. The material seems very high quality, I think they will last much longer than other cheaper brands. Makes all my clothes fit better, so I'm very happy overall

Wasn't sure how I'd go to the bathroom by using the "hole" designed in the crotch, and these power shorts would be difficult to pull up and down if I had to use bathroom often, especially if drinking anything with caffein. Didn't want to change it, I'm returning them, but love the Spanx brand, have several pairs in different styles.

This garment makes you feel great. Shapes and smooths out stomach and even upper thigh. BUT full disclosure, this item is absolutely like the top potion of a panty hose. Meaning it rips and runs VERY easily. I wound up contacting Spanx for an exchange after purchasing 2 pairs and both ripping! (And not just in the behind area, it actually ripped up by my ribs as I was adjusting under bra.)

It’s not how it was. The material is better but this rolls down. Quite disappointed but I’m trying to make this work.

I hate these. The only shapewear I've ever had that makes me look WORSE. Also, the fabric is absolute crap. Tore on first wearing. (Pantyhose level.) A far cry from the old Spanx.

I was sent USED spanx. I pulled a hair out of the pair. The package was ripped as well so I know that someone had used them. Gross, gross, gross.

They fit well and were comfortable, but ripped the second time I put them on. I didn't notice any defects the first time, and did not snag or catch it on anything. Just ripped while pulling them up. Bought another brand for less, and they are very similar, but seem to be a lot more durable.

A must have for under bandage dresses!

Perfect to wear under a dress with no panty lines! I am 5'7, 155 pounds. I bought a large.

These are not meant to be high compression but more of a smoothing garment .. they are amazing !! Be gentle with them and they will be good to you

Fit well, tight but not uncomfortable. Did it’s job of smoothing out unwanted lumpiness!
