These shoes look as advertised. If you are debating with yourself about whether to go up or down in size if you are a half size I would recommend going with the smaller size. Many of my shoes are 8½ so I was not sure whether to go with the 8 or the 9, but because of the style of the shoe I decided on the 8 - and that was definitely the way to go. I hope that helps.

Love the looks of this boot. They can be worn with anything. However, the piece of leather that had the laces is uneven on right side. I will keep but really disappointed in the quality. These are not cheap either.

The fit is surprisingly good. I have small feet but they are wide, which makes it hard to find a good fit. The shaft of the boot is a little tight to start with, mine are just starting to break in and become comfortable in that area. During my first try on, I didn’t think there’d be room for thicker socks. There is definitely room for thicker socks, and they help stretch the shaft of the boot to a more comfortable fit. I did the little quiz thing for sizing online, and it worked awesome. I’m usually a 7 1/2, and I went with the suggested US women’s 7

This boot is different from other Docs as I feel it's a little more feminine (without getting into glitter and hot pinks). I wear them a few times a week. I broke them in quicker with the wonder balm. Very supportive in the ankle area which I need.

This is a beautiful boot and so stylish. The kind of understated quality that I always look for but rarely find. I am generally a 71/2 wide in US sizes, and ordered it in the both UK 6 and the UK 5. The 6 felt good width-wise but was too long. I ended up keeping the UK 5. Although it is a little snug in the width, the length felt like it fit my foot better, and looked more appropriately sized on my foot. I am hoping that the boot will relax a little in the width as I wear it. These seem like the kind of shoes that get better with age and polishing, and I will likely wear them a long time.

I have been a fan of Dr. Martens since I bought a classic pair of black lace-ups two years ago. After wearing those shoes nearly every day since I got them, and on the hunt for a pair of "booties" that would look professional and sleek, I turned back to Dr. Martens. These shoes do not disappoint. Expecting mild discomfort on the first wear (my experience with my first pair of Docs), I was surprised to find these shoes extremely comfortable from the get go. I got the cherry red arcadia color, and the boots of a red sheen that gives them a polished look that looks great with black pants, jean skirts and cotton dresses. I highly recommend these shoes.

with docs, any woman who is not a solid women’s 8 is going to find boots and shoes to be slightly large requiring a thick sock in order to compensate for the roominess. not a perfect screnario but the price you pay for style and durability. i will say overall ever since doc started letting china makes its shoes the sizes are very inconsistent. they too are suffering customer disfavor for putting money over quality. if you can’t trust doc marten who can you trust? no one. that said, these boots are awesome though slightly larger than they should be. i have to wear an insole and thick sock. I read a couple of reviews that the tongue was too stiff and caused irritation at the front of the foot by the ankle. when i first put them on i knew what they were speaking of but after wearing them around the house for about an hour, the leather softened and they are done now. Others complained they were hard to break in but i didn’t find this to be the case at all. this is my second day wearing them and they are breaking in very nicely. Then again, being a tough old bird, I’m not that delicate Also, i wanted this style boot because i was looking for something a little more refined than the classic doc boot and these are perfect for work and knocking around. Very pleased.

It hasn't been a year since I purchased these boots and they are already breaking. Not the best quality.

I just got these and I love them and have received so many compliments. I was hesitant about purchasing another pair of Docs because the previous pair were the Flora Chelsea boot that were too small and they didn't offer half sizes. I used to be a size 7 and now I range from 7.5-8 post baby. I got these in a size 8 and they fit really good. They're a little big but will be fine if I wear wool thick socks for the winter. Not too big where it's annoying but just big enough where they feel good and my feet won't be pinched wearing thicker socks. My only two qualms about this boot is that 1) the leather is really stiff and I like to wear cuffed jeans so there is about an inch of space from my jean cuff to the top of the boots. So walking in them with regular socks will be a bit painful until I break in that part of the leather. I don't feel it if I'm wearing thick socks though. 2) the tongue slips to the side but not enough where I think it's annoying and that I won't wear them. All and all, I highly recommend this boot if you're looking for quality Docs but not the look of their traditional combat boot. It's a great casual, everyday boot that gives you a polished look.

Super bulky and stiff boots. I wear size 11 in women's and found these to fit like a size 12. They looked strictly like men's boots. Returning them.

Love these boots, I have received compliments from both genders when i'm wearing these and people are surprised these are Docs. Style is great, the ankle could be a little taller- my skinny pants always pucker up and out of the boot and if you are conscious about styling, this may annoy you. These are my first Docs, excruciating to break in! It has been a month with initial light wear and then wearing them during a trip to NY- you will need double layers of socks to help prevent blisters esp if you already have bad heels. Toe is narrow. The footbed is very hard, added 2 sets of insoles to try and make them more comfortable- i have a high arch and need the heel absorption. The most uncomfortable part is waiting for the middle of the boot to stretch when stepping, these really hurt my feet but am hoping in more time they will be comfortable. Laces could be longer. Shoe size 8-8.5, ordered a 6 and they fit perfect.

Beautiful boot. Loved the color and style. They are stiff but are comfortable. I wear 8.5 and I ordered an 8. I do you were thinner socks with them. The reason I gave three stars is that one of the pieces of leather where the shoe laces are is uneven on the right boot. Have had a few pair of this brand over the years and it seems quality is taking a nosedive. I will keep these however.

I would have loved these IF they were actually a size 5. I had a moment of weakness when I saw the UK 3 and ordered. A UK 3 is an EU 36 which is ALWAYS misrepresented as a US 5-5 1/2. As a true size 5 I can assure you a 36 is a US 6.

Definitely needed a little breaking in but that was done only after a few times wearing. This is an absolutely gorgeous pair of Dr. Martens. I like this style a lot better than the typical combat boot style. The toe is smaller and the sole isn't as clunky which is what I like about them. They look great on my feet! Very classy snazzy pair of shoes! I got the cherry red. What a beautiful color.

I am between a 6 and 6.5 in looser fit shoes (such as wide boots, canvas slip ons). I went with the 6 for these and they feel perfect. Not too tight and able to put on thicker socks when needed. Though they're not winter boots per se because they don't have anything for warmth, they actually function well in rain and even some snow with the non-slip sole. The shorter shaft also makes the breaking in pretty easy. I just wore high socks on my first couple of outings and didn't get any bruising. Lastly I really like the cherry red color. It sits somewhere between a black and sort of warm leather color, so I've worn it with both blue denim and dark trousers. Totally love these and I feel like they'll outlive me.

I love this version of a combat boot. It is a moire feminine look and hits at the ankle, so it goes with jeans without having to have to roll up at an awkward length. The leather is stiff, so definitely need a higher sock than ped for comfort. I am a 9 or 9/12 and they only come in full sizes. I got the 9 and have plenty of room.

Beautiful leather finish and color is a rich black cherry… gorgeous!! The stiff Arcadia leather was a bit hellish to break in, but worth the effort as they are now quite comfy. Mine are roomy enough for thick boot (or double) socks or moderate arch support insoles. I have wide feet and normally wear a size 10/10.5/11 and the Emmeline UK8/US10 is a comfortable fit.

I bought these shoes a little over a year ago and I still love them! They are very beat up at this point, as I've been wearing them several days a week, but I think that's part of their charm. I usually wear 8.5 in all shoes, and purchased these in an 8. They have just enough room for a pair of medium width socks. They are super comfortable, and required little breaking in. Highly recommend!

Beautiful boots, very high quality. The red undertone is so pretty, and really stands out when the shoes start to scuff a bit. I've gotten tons of compliments!

Beautiful shoe. The toe box is one of the more elegant Dr Marten toe boxes. The leather is so so gorgeous - shiny, rich with just a hint of red. However, the leather is stiff. Like steel. The upper edges cut into my ankles in a very painful way. Would take a substantial breaking in period, but would probably be worth it in the end. Not sure how the shine will hold up to normal everyday scuffing.

The shoes are beautiful, though will take breaking in. The toe box is not as wide as I had hoped, but I do have a wide toe area with bunions. I have the same problem as another reviewer: the piece of leather on the right side of the right shoe (attachment with lacing system) is not aligned with the left piece of leather. This is not part of the "design" as the left shoe has these pieces perfectly aligned. This is not excusable in a shoe that is premium priced by a company that prides itself on quality and workmanship. Debating whether to keep these or return for a replacement pair. Suspect new pair may have the same problem! Annoyed!

These boots are cute and durable while also providing a slimmer profile than the standard 1460s you see around. With that said, they don't have very good arch support and the whole bottom part of the boot is hard unlike the other styles. You definitely need to put in your own insoles for comfort. Other than that, since they don't come in half sizes the 6 worked for my 6.5 sized feet.

I’m a size 7 and generally buy boots a half size larger for inserts and these feel like 7.5 so they fit perfectly with inserts which is good since docs don’t usually have arch support.
