These are great looking boots but run very small. I wear a comfortable 10 but not in these. Will try the next size up.

Having read the reviews and also the Zappos advice to size up, I ordered a size larger than I usually wear. The boots were easy to get on and off. The fit on the heel was good and didn't slip, but the length of the shoe was too long for my foot. Although I don't like to have my toes touch the end of my shoes, there was just a little too much space between my toes and the end of the boot. I am returning them. Perhaps I'll go for my regular size, as they are nice looking boots.

This is my third pair of Camper boots - they're usually the most comfortable boots I can find, and are cute and stylish too. This pair runs very small, I recommend ordering at least one size up. I normally wear a 39 but got these in a 40 and they fit perfectly. They're slightly less comfortable than the other Camper boots I've owned because they don't have much arch support. I'm going to get insoles for them and then I think they'll be perfect.

I ordered a size up and the shoe felt too roomy. My foot slides around too much. I like that the opening is not too wide so you can wear these boots under pants without a big bulge. I do wish the leather was softer at the opening as it feels rather stiff and slightly uncomfortable. Maybe this will change with time, but I'm sending these back as the size is not working for me. I wish they fit though as I'm desperately seeking a basic black boot that is comfortable to walk in all day and it is quite a challenge.

These are my first ever pair of Camper boots. I liked the simplicity of the design and the "red" is honestly a lovely burgundy. Goes well with jeans and skirts alike--good for a day in the classroom with a bunch of second graders--stands up to being on the playground and holds up to a lot of walking around. They were surprisingly comfy out of the box and I have medium-wide feet. Definitely order at least one size up, 2 if you plan to wear thicker socks

beautiful boot, takes a minute to break in

I'm a huge fan of Camper shoes. Their leather is soft and the shoes are always very well made. The Bowie ankle boots are no exception. I was able to wear them right out of the box without having to break them in. I have relatively narrow feet and skinny ankles so I was able to slip into them with no problems. The stretchy part does help with getting into them however I can see people with wider feet to have some trouble as they do not open open that large. Other than that they are support comfy and stylish.

I love the way these shoes look and they seem to be nice quality and just look better with wear. I walk a couple miles in them a day and they feel fairly comfortable and supportive. I think the the sole portion of the boot fits just fine and true to size compared to my other shoes but the shaft opening seems quite small. I am a small boned person and have smaller than average ankles but these still seem a bit tight at the ankle. They are uncomfortable after walking around if I am not wearing tall socks. I can't wear them with no-show socks because it hurts too much. They rub at the ankles. I am hoping over time they will break in a bit and not rub but for now I just wear tall socks.

Oh what a beautiful boot but as the case with some Camper shoes, it runs two sizes smaller than marked. I wear a women's size 11 and ordered these in a 12, hoping for an anomaly. Alas, in this boot I would need a 13 and it comes no bigger than a "12".

i am always a size 11, so i ordered size 11. was WAY too small. unfortunately they don't have any larger sizes :( cute boot, just mislabeled sizing.

These boots are obviously of high quality--very durable-- and would probably hold up well in our New England winters. That said, the leather is so perfect and shiny (and lacking in any detail), it makes these boots look as though they're made out of rubber instead of high-quality leather. I usually wear a size 7 1/2 (medium width) in a boot, but the size 38 (supposedly equal to size 8) fit well. But the main problem I had is that these boots are very stiff. I felt as though I were putting on a prosthetic foot as I struggled to get into them -- weird! Maybe they would soften up over time, but they didn't entice me enough, style-wise, to find out. These are just too plain for me. So back they go. At this price, I want a pair of boots I can truly love.
