This backpack is almost perfect. I packed this in my main backpack for a 2 week trip to Italy. It was great. IT is super small, lightweight and easy to bring. The great part is I left my full size backpack in the room and packed this ultralight with my camera gear and water bottle. Wore this pack for all day and hardly noticed it was there. The only complaint I have is the zipper can work it's way down. I discovered this the 1st time I wore it. Both zippers (which is nice to have 2 zippers) were at the top of the pack. At some point I noticed 1 zipper worked it's way down and I dropped something out of the pack when I leaned over. I learned to keep both zippers down to one side and never had this issue again.

Comes with me on day hikes when we set up base camp on backpacks. It weighs next to nothing and therefore lends itself to bring with the other gear and still keep weight reasonable. My large backpack that holds gear on way to and from base camp stays behind, and stuff sack becomes my day pack. It is surprisingly comfortable carrying 2 liters of water, snacks, lunch and the 10 essentials. I love the zip pocket on top for money and keys, and the mesh pocket on outside. Holds a phone or water bottle. I have used this on summer day hikes ranging from 1 to 10 hours.

I took this pack along on a 3 day backpacking trip that involved a day trip up South Truchas Peak (13,108). It held 2 liters of water, a shell, lunch/snacks, and some first aid/emergency gear comfortably. I was even able to fit my z-poles into it when I needed my hands on some 3rd-4th class terrain. Absolutely love it and will not hesitate to toss it in the backpack in the future.

I had my doubts when I ordered this, but after using it a few times I absolutely love this pack! Whether I am taking this out of the seat bag on my road bike to go for a quick hike, or pulling it out of my pocket to stuff produce and gifts into from my local farmers market, I'm always glad I thought to bring this along. It's sooooo tiny when collapsed into it's own pocket, but 18 liters is no joke. It's super comfy and carries well. Pretty sure I'll be gifting a few of these out at Christmas time!

I added this to my list to bring with me to West Africa for my Peace Corps service. It was one of the first things I was gifted and though I told myself I wouldn't use my gear before I left, I couldn't resist. I brought this on a trial one-bagging trip to Miami as an extra bag, and just returned from two weeks in Thailand where I opted to use this as my day pack. I started the two weeks off using a cross body anti-theft bag, but eventually it got annoying and I whipped out my Osprey Ultralight. It was nice because I just casually tossed it in my bag before I left, it took up no room and clipped to the outside for my one-bagging trip. This went everywhere with me in Thailand, it was tossed around, dropped on floors, climbed questionable hiking rails, was flung around Muay Thai gyms. Through it all it help up like a champ. I filled this thing with a lot of stuff on a daily basis, from boxing gloves, a 21oz water bottle, hand wraps, power bank, Gopro gear, wallet/passport/phone, sunscreen. To my excursion set-up with changes of clothes a towel, and hairbrush, plus all my documents with room to spare. It held it all. The top pocket is surprisingly spacious for your smaller items, and this is where I stuffed my phone/passport with cover/International License/WHO Card/Wallet/Extra travel sunscreen, and the main body fits everything, the zippers held up like a champ no matter how full I stuffed it, the side pocket is awesomely stretchy (though I did not trust it to hold a full Hydroflask on its own, I preferred lighter objects in it). No rips, no tears. The only problems I really experienced were the main pocket unzipping if the top pocket was heavier than the body, and a few times the "bag" in the top inner pocket would get securely stuck in the zipper if it wasn't weighted down a bit (accomplished by a key or a few coins). Great day bag, super happy with it and will definitely have to get another.

So, I'm attempting to learn to pack lightly so that I can travel personal item only on budget flights. What I love about this bag (and I may just buy another) is that I can carabiner it to the outside and nobody bats an eye. This allows me to pack one ultralight bag full of my belongings, and then bring a second bag with me for wandering around my destination. It's well built, the top pocket is perfect for avoiding the loss of my phone and other small valuables, and it's spacious enough for everything I need. (And this was before I realized it had a water-bottle holder!). Great bag from a great company.

Perfect little bag for throwing in a camping pack/travel pack. So much better than those bags with the string for straps.

I purchased this pack ~2017 and used many times for international/domestic travel, birdwatching, and short hikes. It folds very small and is very light but holds a lot - it goes with me everywhere. To my chagrin, late last year I noticed a small right angle tear in the fabric after a hike. I contacted Osprey and went through their warranty process, shipping the pack to them for repair or replacement. In much less time than predicted, they informed me it could not be repaired, but could be replaced. Within a week of accepting this option I received a brand-new, with tags, stuff pack! I am very impressed with the quality and warranty! Hopefully my Osprey Porter 46, Porter 30, and Daylite will never have any problems, but if they do, I am confident the issue would be addressed. Oh, like others have said, the color is actually a dark grey-green, but I rather like it!

Purchased this bag in 2016 and use it at least 2X per week. Because it packs into a little baseball sized item, it is convenient and it goes on EVERY trip I take. I have also loaned it out to friends. As a result, this little pack has been to at least 4 continents and all over the United States. Since I'm somewhat active I never know what might come up - a mile or two walk to dinner, a walk/tour around the city, a short hike or bike ride, etc. It currently serves as my Pickleball bag because I walk to the courts. Water bottle goes inside along with extra outer wear, my Pickleball paddle, etc., and the small pocket on top holds my phone and a small coin/key purse. I also know 2 people who have these bags - one a 35 year old outdoorsy man and one a flight attendant - both of them use this pack all the time. Excellent little backpack for random short excursions!

I use my Osprey 18l sac as my EDC. Inside i carry my aquaquest 10x10 safari tarp, quick release paracord, tent stakes, Mira companion knife, pocket rocket 2 stove, cup, ferocium rod, first aid and poncho tarp. I always feel comfortable when out on the trail with my osprey 18l bag. I never leave home without it.

Packs down to the size of a tennis ball but lighter. Think of it as a Summit pack, but for travel carry. Multiple uses for rain jacket, sunglasses, documents, snacks. The gray/green color is ideal for travel and not drawing unwanted attention. Always goes with us.

I bought this to keep in my backpacking pack to use for small items on day hikes away from base camp. Couldn't be happier. It packs down to NOTHING, but holds a rain coat, lunch, and fishing gear with ease. I also purchased the duffel version to keep in each of my cars for when you need something to help carry items that you may not have planned on. Great design, super comfy. I keep buying them to leave all over!

I love this pack because it has pockets besides the main pocket. I like to have options for easy access. For a few extra grams you get 4 pockets in this as opposed to 1 in the competing brand whose name shall not be spoken hear. I also love the osprey swagger. It has a cool osprey name on the front left strap and with the silver osprey logo on the stuff sack. I mean if you're going to have gear make it cool like OSPREY.

I bought this bag to replace a 20+ year old bag to store boots and small gear when traveling to the trailhead. Keeps things organized! It also works well as a light daypack for extended overnight trips.

I use this little gem daily on my commute to work via bus. It stuffs down to a really small size, yet is large enough for essentials. Ultralight sil-nylon material is quite durable.

We bought this pack while on vacation for a month and used it every day. It was perfect for day trips that carried stuff for two people. I would highly recommend it as a light little pack that is convenient to pack in your suitcase and use for day trips.

This is a great pack. I use it for when I go on adventures in the woods, fishing or traveling. This pack is super light weight. A really good use for this pack is to throw it into your backpacking backpack and use it to go on short hikes from your campsite and being able to carry everything you need in a light weight pack without having to use your regular pack.

Full disclosure, I'm an Osprey guy. All my packs are Osprey. I just love the way they fit me and their top notch quality. Not to mention their almighty gaurantee! But I am so happy that Osprey finally addressed the need for an ultralight stuff pack. I am an adventurer who travels internationally a lot. I like to travel light and prefer carry on only when I can. Usually my EXOS 38, Talon 44 or Stratos 50 can be used as carry on no problem. But sometimes if my pack has to be checked, I need a smaller pack to put my valuables in for the plane. Also once I land, sometimes I want to leave my larger pack in the hotel or hostel and walk around town with a smaller pack. The Osprey Ultralight stuff pack is perfect for both these needs. It packs up to practically nothing and I can just throw it in with the rest of my gear without noticing. It really is amazing. It's also fully featured with an actual side water little pocket, top stash pocket for keys and smaller items as well as a fairly roomy main compartment. I can fit my camera, iPad, rain jacket and snacks comfortably. Love this thing. I used to carry my Talon 11 on trips for such uses, but no longer. The osprey Ultralight stuff pack goes with me on every trip now.

I haven't used the backpack yet but it looks great. Exactly what I was looking for. My problem was trying to find one. I first heard about this travel backpack in an article in the Toronto Star travel section recently. It provided the Osprey website which provided a list of stockists in the Toronto area. However, the first stockist I went to, Enduro Sport on Laird Drive had never even heard of Osprey. I tried two branches of SportChek on the stockist list and neither carried it. The second store was able to check online and tell me of two Atmosphere stores that had these backpacks so I went to the Shops at Don Mills and was thrilled to find a sale with a second pack at 50% so I bought two. I do think Osprey needs to update their stockists lists as this was quite frustrating.

Very well designed lightweight bag that folds down to the size of my fist! Materials are high quality as you expect from Osprey. I like the small top pocket and side bottle pocket. I think it would really benefit from a sternum strap. I know it is meant to be as minimalist and lightweight as possible (and it is), but the straps tend to fall of my shoulders when I get active (I use a strip of "velcro" as a sternum strap). However, the straps are very confortable, even when the bad is full. Getting 18 liters from a bag so light, packable and confortable make it the perfect daypack for me!

I will preface this review by noting that I picked this up as a last minute addition for our trip to Indonesia. There were a few brands to choose from but the Osprey looked the more well designed. My wife liked mine and dashed out to get one for herself. We needed a light weight pack in our suitcase so we could go for day hikes, excursions. and general carrying about that you do on a travel holiday. A nice little pack to carry the raincoat or umbrella or the camera & spare camera lenses on our various tour excursions. I like the top loading small pocket to put more delicate things like sunglasses, mosquito rep and the passport. I also appreciated the webbing pocket for a water bottle. The minimalist design worked very well and the shoulder straps were adequate compliant and comfortable despite the fact that the whole pack weighs 4 ounces!!!. The quality of the build gave me confidence that the pack would last despite being overloaded. 22 days later it became the catch all bag as we passed through airports carrying my net book, Ipad and sweater on the return home. This bag is so compact it takes no extra room in the suitcase and provides so much utility. I appreciate quality and it became the star of our trip. Thanks so much. M. D. Paulson

the pocket on the outside is too loose to hold a water bottle securely. there is no adjustment on it. otherwise, this packs down small, is light and useful.

The color is way off. Still deciding if I'll keep it. I wish I could see if it really packs into that pouch but I may return it so I don't want to cut it off the tag.

I've tested many packable daypacks and this one is by far the most comfortable. To get Osprey quality at the price tag is fantastic. My only suggestions are to add a second side mesh pocket and water resistant zippers. Doing so will require to make the pocket it stuffs into a bit larger. I already feel the pocket is a little too small as I find myself spending too much time trying to cram all the material into it. I have an upcoming trip to Thailand and I've unfortunately decided to take my Naturehike 18L pack due to having two side mesh pockets. Not only does this help the pack stay balanced, but helps me to pack out more water in an environment I'm sure to need it. Please Osprey add these features. I will be first in line to buy the updated model.

This is a great pack to use for day or half day excursions away from base camp. It weighs next to nothing and has plenty of room for water, food, camera, and an extra layer. Maybe a little too much room as there is no way to cinch it down for smaller volumes, but that's the price you pay for the weight savings. I do wish that the straps were longer. I'm 6'2" and have trouble getting my arms inside the straps to put the pack on. I also wish there was a strap or loop on the inside for hanging a water bladder. And if you carry a bottle in the outside pocket and bend over, don't be surprised if the bottle ends up on the ground, in the mud, or floating down stream. You've been warned.
