I love these boots! I was looking for a boot that offered some warmth, arch support and stability. I wear a 10 1/2 medium and ordered an 11 because I thought I needed to for extra warm socks, but the boots were plenty warm without the thick socks. I wish I would have ordered a 10 1/2. The Topaz color is lovely; looks great with skinny jeans. The laces allow easy in and out of the boot and can be tightened to your liking. The boot is very lightweight and seems like it would not keep the foot warm and dry, but amazingly it does. I walked through snow and slush while visiting Iceland and my foot felt warm, dry, stable, and comfortable the whole time. I would buy this boot again, but I would order my true size.

WOW!!! Finally a pair of cute boots with good support. I have tried many--say around 15-18 different pairs by different manufacturers to find THE ONE. Everything from Aerosoles, Sketchers , Birkinstock (yes -even the very pricey ) etc but none compares to this boot. I have the TOPAZ color which I think best shows the true styling of the boot. The support feels very similar to my Mayari Birkinstock (soft footbed). Wore them all day straight out of the box.Just so you don't get the wrong idea that I am a spry 20-something---- Over 5o with advanced arthritis of the knees so I know comfort when I get it. Not saying they will work for everyone but absolutely worth your time to try and with the outstanding ZAPPOs service and return policy; you have nothing to lose.

About my feet: I wear a 9-9.5 (40-41) shoe and sometimes a 10 (42) in boots for thick socks. I like room for my toes, have a medium-width foot with a slightly narrow heel, have a high instep, moderate-high arch, tend to under-pronate (step down on outside edge of feet) and have hallux limitus (intense pain in the joint behind big toe). Chaco bootie "Barbary" size "9.5 USA / 40.5 EUR) color "Pinecone" pros: nice color, smooth inner texture; well made; comfortable ankle support, good arch support from removable cushion insole; Good sole rigidity. I took out insole to try with thick socks--no arch support but still comfy, and no hallx limitus/big toe joint pain because sole flexes under ball of foot--not toe--so, surprise! no hallux limitus pain even without insole, and even though this is not a "rocker sole" model. cons: a little narrow (I feel little toe pressing side); size runs true if wearing with a thin sock (and wool and leather might stretch/give later) but I want to have room for thick socks and toe wiggle. Returning, but definitely looking to try this a size up to accommodate thicker socks and see if that gives more little toe wiggle room

I love these shoes! I’ve always loved Chacos sandals, but have never worn their shoes. I have narrow heels and high arches, so finding a boot that fits well is a challenge. The heel is contoured so that it doesn’t slip up and down, and the arch support is adequate. The footbed insert is removable, though, so I’ll probably try my orthotics in them. Color is kind of beige and not too light. These shoes are both cute and comfortable, so it’s a win/win. As always, Zappos’ shipping is super fast!

I live in South eastern Idaho and the weather changes constantly. I bought these for a warmer waterproof shoe for lighter days when heavy snow boots are not needed. Wore them tonight to a soccer game right out of the box. They were comfy to run and shag balls and kept my feet warm and dry all night. I had on light socks but it only got down to the mid 30’s. There is enough room to wear a thicker sock or use toe warmers. Not sure of traction or snow hold up. I will repost when I test them out on the ice. Over all a cute practical boot.

I need a wide shoe due to Morton’s neuroma in the ball of my right foot, probably caused by wearing too narrow shoes in the past. Need plenty of toe box room. And I need high arch. These boots are perfect. I ordered a half size larger than my normal size since they don’t come in wide. Keep in mind sock thickness. Fit great no pain. I can even put my custom orthotics in them although I don’t need too so far. Love the gray color Castlerock. Just ordered a second pair in pinecone color.

I wanted to love this shoe. It was lightweight, kind of cute, (although not as cute in real life), and waterproof. I normally wear a women’s 10.5-11, so I ordered the 10.5, which was HUGE. Ordered the 10, which was also big, but when I took out the insole to put in my own insole, the 10 was perfect. The insole that comes with the shoe is probably perfect for most people, but I found it to be too much arch support and was actually painful on my feet. Due to the shape/odd sizing of the shoe, the normal insole that I put in didn’t fill all the space at the end where your toes go and the shoes just didn’t feel right. I tried to make myself love them, but in the end they were too expensive to not come automatically comfortable. The color was nice, but the overall shape/style was weird.

Had the same problem a couple of other reviewers did. Very painful on the bone of the forefoot where all 3pieces of leather come together. Also, the eyelet loops were not sewn on level with each other on one shoe.

Comfortable shoe but not as cute or feminine looking in person. It looked somewhat like a construction shoe and the collar did not lay down close to the shoe, it sticks out a little. I am keeping the Aravon shoe instead because it’s more stylish

I wanted to love these shoes. They look like they would be so sturdy and work well for the weather here in the PNW. They’re super cute too. But they’re so narrow! I included a picture of my barefoot next to the shoe. My barefoot might even be wider than the shoe! I have wide feet, yes, but I don’t have to buy wides and everything. But I would definitely have to buy them in the shoe… If they offered it. Sad face. Back to the drawing board. Come on Chacos!

I bought these for a recent 2 week trip to Europe thinking I might need them for a day or two. Turns out I wore them all day, every day. We did lots of walking & had wet sloppy snow. The boots were great - comfy, warm & dry the entire time.

.This shoe is incredibly comfortable. If you like Chacos, you will like this boot. It has a very supportive sole, good grip, and much more arch support than I've found in other similar boots. They are easy to get on and off, they tie up easily, and most importantly for me they have a wide toe box! The material over the toes is flexible rather than rigid which provides even more room. I ordered my normal size and they felt great. If anything, maaayyyybe they run the tiniest bit big, but since I was looking for a wide toe box, I found the fit perfect. I wore regular socks with them so I think they could also accommodate a thicker sock if I need to wear one. I haven't fully tested the waterproofing in truly wet or snowy conditions. But the first day I wore them, I did accidentally dumped a small bucket of water on my shoe. The water beat it up just like it should and left my foot dry and the shoe looking like nothing happened so I have no reason to doubt the waterproofing is good as well. These boots are as cute as they can be for what they are. Which is to say, I don't feel especially cute when I wear them but they are as cute as I could find for this type of practical wide toe box ankle boots. I ordered this in Castle Rock and mink to see which I liked better. I only had to take Castle Rock out of the box to know that I loved it. Mink is going back and I'm very happily keeping Castle Rock

Cute and comfortable but not even the least bit water resistant. I wanted these for winter. I didn't expect to wear them in the snow, but I just wanted a little water resistance for rain or slush. I got a few DROPS of water on them first time wearing and I felt the drops come through immediately. Recommend you buy them if you like the look, not because they advertise water resistance. Took off two stars only for false advertising.

I was very surprised with good arch support, I have really troublesome feet! Morten's Neuroma and fractures repaired, so fit is a major issue. Bought the gray, order the brown also, returned the brown, keeping the gray. Lace sung, as they get worn in I'll likely be able to wear heavier sock. The sole is fairly rigid, like I need & give me some support at ankle in place of true older hiking boot. These fit better than the very expense Merrell.

Love my Chacos!!! These shoes didn't disappoint! I read that the arch support wasn't like most Chacos, but I find it to be the same great quality of support that I'm used to with Chaco shoes. These are a funky, casual look which is just what I like. They are true to size & keep my feet warm.

I like the boot a lot. Soft, light weight, and feel supportive. I usually wear an 8 1/2 in MOST shoes, especially better made shoes. I ordered 8 1/2 because most of the reviews said they were true to size. They were too big. I exchanged for an 8 and they fit. I have a narrow foot, but this was not the reason they were too big (they are a little too wide, but that isn’t a concern, I can tighten the laces to fix this), they were definitely too long. There is a big arch support, and as soon as I put the 8 on, knew it was the right fit, the arch was where it should be. Customer service was very easy to work with and I actually got the replacement boot the next day. Love this website for sure. I just got the boots, they seem very comfy and well made, but time will tell that. If my attitude changes on this, I will update review.

I have many pairs of Chaco sandals (the "Original" Classic Z/1). Over the years: I have tried SO MANY pairs of Chaco shoes: but they never work for me. In these boots: the overlapping (Or "joining") of the 3 seams near pinky toe bothered me. The sole didn't have that "Good Chaco Feel" under my toes. The fabric lining of leather seemed a bit rough. I should probably JUST stick to their sandals.

These boots are super cute! Although, they are much more brown than they appear in the official pictures. The problem is that these boots are very long and very narrow around the arch of the foot. Normally when a shoe is too narrow, it's too narrow around the ball of the foot, but these are just narrow all over. And there's so much room at the toe and not in a "this shoe is the wrong size" kind of way, but more like "this shoe is misshapen" kind of way. My pair also arrived with several pronounced scratches on the leather. They seem to scuff and scrape rather easily.

I love them! and that is saying a lot for a girl who Never wears boots. They are light weight and feel a lot like sneakers. I love the rubber sole. The boots run large but that is great because there is enough room for all my toes. They are not lined but that is also good since I live in Atlanta.

I bought these 3 years ago and I still wear them all the time and get a lot of compliments. They are comfortable and hold up really nicely. They are my go-to shoes when I want to throw something comfortable but sturdy on. Note - I replaced the insert with a shearling insert to make these a little more cozy, and that worked really well for me. I have generally narrow feet and tend towards 8.5/9 in shoes - these were an 8.5 and are perfect. I love the castlerock color (blue) and getting to choose whether to wear them folded down or up. Overall, this is a great pair of shoes and I am please with my purchase! The photo shoes the shoes after 3 years of wear. Note that they do show creases on the toe box; this is really the only thing that has happened after lots of regular use.

I could just live in these year round, but when it is cooler out, these are my go-to's. I own plenty of shoes, but because of the stability these provide, my back feels good wearing these, and I have lower back problems. They have great arch support, and my foot doesn't ever slip around in the boot wearing wool socks, I found them pretty true to size with a nice, wide toe box, a nice rubber outsole too. It's funny because I could wear these for life, I think they are supportive, overall so comfortable I never know they are on, but I find Chaco sandals to be too stiff and unattractive. These are sophisticated and a perfect everyday shoe.

I ordered these in a 9.5 medium in the color mink. I expected the shoe to be more feminine than it actually is in person. I ordered these in July and kept them in the box until late October when I decided to finally wear them. Honestly I couldn't decide if I wanted to keep them or not. I have a very narrow foot so most shoes overwhelm my foot and body. I'm 5' 8.5" by the way and think this would have been a lot of shoe for a shorter woman with long feet. They are more utilitarian in person. Now that I've finally taken them out of the box I've worn them everyday since. They are extremely comfortable and are perfect for walking my son to the bus stop in the cold/rainy weather every morning. I live in the Seattle area. I've also worn these on light hikes on the coast, to the local park/playgrounds, and when I walk my dog and toddler. So I'm going to give these a 5 star for comfort and practicality. I have a "cuter" pair to wear when that matters but these really get the job done. I think you have to order to see for yourself.

Got these for a last minute winter trip to London. Needed something warm and with some water resistance. I spent many hours standing in the cold. I spent many hours walking around in the drenching rain (didn't enjoy that part). The boots however kept my feet warm and dry and much to my surprise pain free. The arch support was perfect and provided such comfort that I wore these boots every day, unless I had to wear something else for a nice dinner. The ONLY negative about these boots was that they were VERY slippery when I walked on the metal covers...Get the boots, it's well worth it, just be careful on the metal covers when you're walking around.
