I really like this boot. The comfort is excellent and I really like the style. The leather is also very nice. I also feel the sole is very good quality and grippy. But the tounge is too small and is not connected to the sides at all so it tends to shift off center while wearing them. Also the stitching on the side I have torn through on both my original pair and my replacement set. Good boot for light use.

very comfortable, but it only lasted 6 months, I was compensated by The North Face, I recommend it because the company is very serious.

I bought these for a hunting trip in the badlands of western ND. I really liked them till they fell apart the third day of the trip. The sole came unglued from the leather. Once this happened there is no resistance to moisture. I can only wear them in completely dry conditions now.

Nice looking boot, until you put them on. Tongue is way too short, and as some others have noted, the laces end up against your ankles. Very uncomfortable. Also, the laces are ludicrously long. It's a shame the design wasn't paid more attention to, as these are otherwise great boots.

you buy a shoe that is supposed to be waterproof so that your feet dont get wet.
is sweats more than a regular shoe, your socks are wet at the end of the day.
its is like using a plastic bag outside your socks.
after going back to the store, the answer I got was: "you should wear them for smalll periods of time"!

Great shoes but they didn't last very long. These boots lasted about 2 winters of light use before the sole on one boot developed a crack that lets any moisture in. Just walking through damp grass soaks my foot now.

I absolutely love the Back to Berkeley redux boots so I bought a second pair in full leather. I am going to assume these aren't made in the same factory as the first pair that I bought- i thought the fit on one shoe was odd and when i really looked at the left shoe- it's literally not the same size and shape as the right shoe! I hope that i just got a bum pair and can return. Otherwise the BtB boots are hands down my favorite shoe of the last decade. I can't believe how amazing these boots feel when they fit right.

Seemed great for the first 3 weeks, walked on packed snow in Boston, then just under 4 weeks of use they became slippery, the leather got warped and lost shape and the laces were way too long and came undone multiple times each day, sad, they started off so strong and crashed hard.

These look great, but I had a few issues. Most importantly, the waterproofing failed on the first slushy day in NYC. The lugs on the sole look like they should be solid, but traction was annoyingly slippery compared to other North Face boots I’ve owned. And the fit was weird: lengthwise and width wise they felt true to size, but it was impossible to get a snug fit when lacing up. And the laces were about 12 inches too long.
Unexpectedly disappointing.

After a short walk feet become wet. I feel that my feet like in bog. It seems like I got into a puddle in my socks without boots. It is very uncomfortable. After a short walk feet are becoming wet. I had a budget which this shoe matched perfectly. I was looking for a functional water proof boot which wasn't clunky and could be worn in most occasions. When I found the one in the Minneapolis NF store, I was told I had the perfect match. The isolation was said to be great, the water proofing perfect, and the sole was said to have great traction.
If you're reading this and want good winter boots, go invest in a company which specializes in it. The isolation NF uses in this boot will absorb sweat and in less than a season start to smell. (I wash my feel once a day, and have never had this problem with another shoe). This is probably also due to the boot having no means of ventilation. Also whatever water proof membrane they use is great, aside from the fact that the outer layer *will* absorb water given less than a season.
I guess I was oversold on the qualities. This is the first time I've gone out of my way to write a review online, because of how disappointed I am. Will be buying a pair of Sorels this winter.

Save yourself and everyone around you, don't buy these boots. If I had more characters, I'd say how the stitching was able to be pulled out.......

These boots are not waterproof at all! I walked to work in light rain and my feet were soaked. I have sneakers that aren't waterproof that keep my feet dryer.
They look great and are comfortable but I got them for the winter.

Nice looking boots but the heel cracked, sent them back to the north face and the customer service is very poor. Is taking almost 2 months just to tell me if the boots still under warranty.
The worse customer service

These boots didnt last me 3 months and I didnt even wear them everyday nor did I ever hike in them! I wore them for work and the toe leather started pulling off the body of the shoe. I sent them in on December 14th through my local store and still haven't even gotten an email (January 2nd) saying they made it to the warehouse. I bought these to be my winter boots and they didn't even make it to January. Extremely disappointed by the boots and the customer service.

I bought these boots a few days prior to Thanksgiving. I used them on several small hikes on flat terrain. They are very warm and comfortable. However as of today, December 7, 2019, the sole is already pulling away from my toes on the one boot. I'm shocked. It isn't fully pulled away, but it is going to happen. I'm very disappointed with this product. I will not be purchasing boots from here again.

Wore these for 2 months in Midwest winter last year, started leaking bad around the sole, luckily the warranty covered a replacement pair but I had to pay for shipping and be without boots for a few weeks. Cut to this year and the brand new replacements are already leaking badly again. Normal daily wear, no hiking or camping.
Was told I can exchange them for a gift card...
Definitely not going to try a 3rd pair. Pretty disappointing.

Great boots, while they lasted. Problem is they're under warranty but it takes 5-8 weeks for replacement. Doesn't really help when you need boots for the winter.
