The Solo is the 5th Rowley pro model that I've worn casually/skated and I have to say it's vastly superior (in terms of comfort) to the early Rowley XLT line days. They advertise this model as having the ultracush foot bed technology and it does have a nice foam sockliner that is removable but it isn't the same that comes with the Slip-on Pro or the Old Skool Pro. I would say the standard sockliner in this shoe is cheaper and thinner than the models previously mentioned. This may be due to Geoff Rowley's preference as the board feel in this shoe is superior when compared to the previously mentioned other Pro Classic Vans models. Also I found that after a few days the places where shoe bends had begun to crack the outsole just below the sidewall. This is typical for traditional Vans (non Pro Classic models, and really all vulcanized shoes) but something that I haven't seen on the Slip-on Pro or the Old Skool Pro. In closing I find the Vans Pro Classic models to be better constructed, but in no way would I deter anyone from this shoe. Rowley has a reputation of bare necessity skate shoes and the Solos don't disappoint. These are best suited for daily wear and light skating, anything more than a 5 stair is outside its comfort zone. I wear a 9 in Vans across the board and these felt perfect.

My foot is a size 12.5. I ordered a size 13 and it is a comfortable fit.

Love the look and style of this shoe

Love these shoes! They were a little stiff at first, but after skateboarding in them a couple times they got comfortable. Now, they are the most comfortable and durable shoes I own!

Nice casual shoe! I've got the murdered out pair, I don't really skate so I can't give a review from that perspective. I just buy vans skate shoes for their looks, materials and they're the only line that predominantly has HD cush tech. The lateral arc of the shoe is rather steep but it hasn't caused me any problems. I get these were designed for skaters by a skater but for casual wear the HD insoles are too thin. It's not a deal breaker it's just all my other vans have a thicker insole which creates a softer feel. Overall I love suede, I love the silhouette, I love all black and even though they're not as soft as I'd like they're still comfortable.

Have a wide foot so needed to order a larger size to accommodate. Looks and feels great !!!

I bought these shoes because the last skate shoes that I bought had come to the end of their life. I do not know what it is about these shoes but the board feel and the flick I get off of these are insane. I bought the dress blue and the laces by the eyelets are starting to be stained with the blue dye. Overall they are great skate shoes and I will probably be buying multiple pairs.

Awesome shoe! I bought this for my son and he absolutely loves this shoe. It looks really good with everything!

I bought these shoes for my 13 yr old son. This is his second pair of Rowleys. He has navy, also. He wears them to school with dress code khakis and like the way they look with pants that have a narrow leg. They are nice looking and true to size. The only negative is they are heavier than a lot of other sneaker type shoes,(thats why I gave them a 4 in comfort) I guess due to the rubber soles. Overall they are great and no one can beat Zappos customer service and speedy delivery!

Zappos service is excellent. I ordered these shoes on Monday and received them on Tuesday. 8.5 is my size for Vans and these shoes felt true to my size. Also the shoes felt true to my width. I purchased the dress blue color and the shoe color turned out to be just perfect. I wear Vans almost exclusively. The other shoes I wear at night are a pair of Ugg Byron slippers.

It was a close decision to keep these. They fit great, looked great but they are a bit heavier than some of the other similar models I was trying. If you don't mind the extra weight these are a perfect shoe.

I was so excited for these to arrive, they look great. I'm usually a 9.5-10 depending on brand and a very narrow foot. I usually have to pull laces as tight as possible on standard width shoes. Not sure if these were mislabeled at the factory but I ordered 9.5 and could barely get my foot in them. They were beyond tight. I repeat, I could barely get my foot in them! Planned to exchange for a full size or even 1.5 sizes larger but those were all out of stock. Next closest size was 11.5 which judging by how far off these were might fit but didn't take the chance. I really think this pair is an error, I have never seen a 9.5 this small and they appeared to have been returned in the past (not laced right, no tissue stuffed inside, etc). I could not get my foot in enough to test overall length but I think they are closer to 9.5 in length than width. If you have wide feet these will never work.
