Nice looking shoes. I have another pair of Ahnus that work but my heels slipped too much in these. I have a wide foot but a narrow heel. Sent them back.

I love these shoes. Great travel/walking shoes. I have narrow heel, somewhat wide front of foot, flattish feet. I wear 7.5/8 depending on fit and the 7.5 in these fit perfectly. Good but not overly high arch support. I wore them for 2 days nonstop city walking in the rain and feet stayed dry and amazingly not-tired for all that cement. I had them in black and now have brown too. One note: b/c the waterproofed leather doesn't really breathe, they'd not be good for hot, dry weather. The shoe has a slim look, so while not exactly 'cute', they're innocuous and the comfort, quality definitely make up for semi-lack of style.

Very comfortable and supportive shoes. Wore these shoes traveling to Europe and was on my feet for long hours, walking on cobblestones and climbing stairs. My feet never hurt. Waterproof - walked around in the rain and my feet stayed dry. The shoes exceeded my expectations.

This shoe was very comfortable and seemed to have great arch support as I was wearing it around the house. Unfortunately, I have a narrow heel and it was sliding too much in this shoe to be a good walking shoe.

I liked the stable heel base and toe box which is roomy without looking clunky, but I couldn't manage to make them snug enough so that my heel wouldn't slip. (I have a narrow foot with a very high arch.) Also, without any vents, I thought they'd be too warm for Central Texas where it's hot most of the year.

I bought this shoe to wear in the mountains. My foot is a medium/wide and the shoes is definitely wide. The insole didn't feel great, so I bought my favorite one and replaced it. They didn't get broken in, but were comfortable and perfect for simple outdoor activities. This style is nicer than a hiking boot for an everyday shoe.

I love this shoe, and I wanted it to be a perfect fit, but it's not. It's too wide in the heel. Also, because it is waterproof, it is a little bit too warm on my feet. It is a great looking shoe!

This shoe is great! It fits true to size, and I wore it all over Alaska with no break-in time and my feet were never sore and I never got any blisters! I wore this glacier kayaking and mountain ATVing, and both times my feet were warm and dry during and after the activities, while my friend's shoes (she wore regular tennis shoes), socks, and feet were drenched and wrinkled by the time we got back to the hotel. Also, I wanted a waterproof shoe that didn't look so much like a tennis shoe, and this shoe fit the bill. I received multiple compliments on the shoe and my friend is going to purchase a pair as well. Though the heel is not perfectly snug, I did not experience my heel slipping like other customers said in their reviews. I wore these with socks and they fit me feet just fine. Like I said, no blisters!

I tried these shoes for a long trip abroad because there was tons of walking and standing times. All I can say is FANTASTIC. My feet never got tired. Excellent support, waterproof and one of the most sturdy shoe I have ever worn. My allegiance to Merrill has changed. I ordered a second pair and some snow boots too. AHNU is a hidden comfortable shoe secret. My feet have never been so comfortable.

I had given up on Ahnu a few years ago when I noticed a change in the quality. I also had experienced purchasing a 2nd pair of a beloved Ahnu only to find (too late) that the same size wasn't the same size. Waste of $. BUT...I am back! Why? Well the quality is superior when compared with other shoes and the comfort seems to be the best I can find. If you have a need for a sturdy, comfortable shoe then check these out. They are leather and they are sturdy. They are very European looking which I like. You can wear them right out of the box. The heels for some reason are a bit bigger than is the norm so if you have a narrow heel try another shoe. I am definitely back to Ahnu and have gotten 3 pairs recently. When all is said and done, it is the most comfortable shoe with the best quality and at an affordable price point.

These medium width shoes fit my WW feet. I normally wear a 7 WW, but a 7.5 works well with a medium weight sock. The style is a nice alternative to tennis shoes and they are waterproof. Nice medium gray color. I've also ordered the red!

I bought these in both the blue and red colors and they are wonderfully comfortable and fit my custom orthotics easily. The red is a nice dusty red that doesn't shout "red!" The red came with two sets of laces and the blue with only one set. It is nice that the soles aren't white so they don't show the dirt as much as white soles would. A nice side effect of the gray soles is that they don't look as much like athletic shoes and are more easily dressed.

This is an incredibly comfortable shoe! Love that it has a dark "bottom" so it does not look like an athletic shoe! Plan to take them on a trip to Europe and I will be comfortable but not like a tourist!

These shoes are true to size, fit my custom made orthotics beautifully, and I plan to walk all over Scotland in them, keeping comfortably dry! Great service Zappos!

Comfortable right out of the box. Roomy toe cup, indeed a roomy all over, but I lace it firmly and am fine. I always use an orthotic so cannot comment on the shoe's arch support. Love that it has Gortex, which is why I bought the shoes for a trip to rainy England in April.

These shoes are wonderful! I was looking for good arch support in a light weight, extremely comfortable shoe which looked nicer looking than a sneaker. These arrest and are fantastically comfortable, right out of the box. I have a narrow to medium foot with a heel that often slips out; these work perfectly in my standard size. And because they are lightweight they are perfect for traveling, both on my feet and /or stowed in suitcase as alternate shoes. I am so pleased.

Great shoes. The arch feels good on my feet. I got my normal size and they fit fine. Not sure if they will be too warm in summer but right now they keep my feet warm and dry. I really like them and I think they will be my go to shoes when I want something a little nicer than tennis shoes. A winner!

Love this shoe! Nice roomy box for toes, and very comfortable - even after a full day of touring. So lightweight - great to take on a trip, and dressier than tennis shoes.

Wide toe box but still needed to go up a size from my usual as I need a wide width and this is a B width. Comfortable arch support. Leather seems stiff but have observed this with other "waterproof" leathers until worn.

Over the last several years, I have felt that Ahnus surpassed Keens for fitting my foot, comfort and support, but I'm beginning to think that applies to sandals such as the Tilden but not much else. I do a lot of walking and red is my business color, so I was really thrilled to see the Ahnu Taraval, I paid full price. I have learned to buy shoes a full size larger than my feet as measured at a comfort shoe store, and immediately these seemed to hit my big toe, so I had them stretched. They now seem fine with moderate socks, but where is the wonderful Ahnu support and shape? The photo's angle gives them shaping that just isn't there. If we can't count on Keen or Ahnu, what else is there?

I really wanted this shoe to fit. It is just the look I wanted - a sneaker, but not looking like a sneaker. Unfortunately the heel slips on my foot - an unusual problem for me.

The shoes are beautifully made and even come with an extra set of black shoe laces to make them look more formal than with the gray ones on the shoes. However, I normally wear size 10 which was much too big. I reordered in 9.5 and they were too wide.

I live in my Ahnu Montaras, never owning fewer than 3 pairs at a time. I wanted a slight more presentable pair and thought these would work. However, the fit it totally different. It's not really fair to mark down a shoe because it doesn't fit your own foot, but I notice a lot of reviewers had the same problem I did - the heel is very wide. I slipped so much I really couldn't even walk around the house in them, much less wear them for a walk. Given the frequency of this complaint I think the shoe fit is just odd.

This shoe did not provide the support I was looking for. I have loved Ahnu flats but this shoe seemed to run very wide and the styling was not attractive.
