Guess I'll just add to the chorus of glowing reviews here. These boots are fabulous - a terrific blend of moto boot, hippie / boho, and classic Frye styling. Reading the comments here and elsewhere, I was worried that my larger calves would pose a problem, but I can get these over a legging with no needed adjustment (though it is more comfortable to loosen the top strap one buckle notch). So they should be just fine with skirts and dresses; I may even indulge in an insert in order to wear with thicker pants like jeans, etc. I wore them for the first time to a party / dance and they were incredibly comfortable right out of the box. Highly recommend!

Look just like the ad. Look good with skirts and with tucked-in skinnies. Solid sole, so I can wear them in bad weather, but the straps make them fun. I have wanted them since they first came out, but thought I could not get them over my wider calves. But the straps are functioning, so you can let them out. I also gather that you can buy a zip-in inset on the Internet for really wide calves. I would say that purchase would be worth it.

I've loved all my Fryes but this is by far my new favorite. I just adore the straps! It's a bit taller than my other tall Veronicas and narrower through the ankle and calf. Sizing is consistent with other Frye styles in length and width. (If you love this style but need to accommodate a larger calf try a simple leather zip-in insert that is currently available on-line.) I'm so glad I made this purchase a priority. Timeless fun!

Great - first time I've ever tried a Frye boot that wasn't way to sloppy wide in the shaft. This style allows for adjustment - I have slim legs, and so I wear them on the tightest holes. I imagine the middle holes work for average size calves, and that the loosest hole would even accommodate slightly wider calves. Great, rugged look - just wish the toe was slightly more almond shape - definitely very round. That being said, I'm keeping them. Well made. They're keepers for sure!

They look and smell amazing. I ordered the brown ones. I am simply thrilled with them. I had to go up a 1/2 size from what I usually wear in Frye boots. I'm a little person (5'3", 110 lbs) and the calves fit me well. They hit just below my knee and I don't feel they are too tall. Full disclosure -- on my first order the pair that fit had a defective buckle and Zappos' amazing customer service fixed me up with another pair immediately. Thank you so much!

I absolutely love these boots! The fringe and buckles on the sides makes for a trendy sexy boot. The sole is a little thicker than my other Frye boots but will come in handy in inclement weather. Also the calf fits snugger than my other Fryes. I have a 14 inch calf and these are fitted over skinny jeans. They might pose a problem for thicker calves. I have 6 pair of Fryes and these are my favorite.

These boots are edgy and bold, and a great update to a classic tall biker boot. The fitted shaft is adjustable at the top to accommodate a slightly wider calf (the top 3 buckles sit over a slit/tongue). They look terrific and the quality is great. I expect these to last many years.

For the price these boots are okay. The shaft is on the small side but you can adjust it with the straps but even so they were a bit snug for me. The fit of the boot itself was a bit tight. I usually wear 7 but got a 7.5 so I could wear with socks but they were snug on the top of my foot. I ended up ordering the Veronica belted tall in black stonewash and they really fit nicely. I like them so much better than this version partly due to the stonewash color. I prefer more of a worn looking boot. Nice boots, but not for me.
