Sigh... Once again boots that are too big in the calves. You know what would be really helpful? Provide calf sizes for each size of boots. That way I don't waste my time ordering boots that are going to be too big in my size 10. In case it helps anyone else, I wear a size 10 and these were 16.25", way too big for my 13-inch calves.

These are very classy looking boots. Nice clean lines, and a narrow shaft. The shafts are definitely narrower than a lot of other boots, which was exactly what I was looking for. I find that Frye boots are a half-size big, and this boot was as well.

My calves measure about 15.5 inches at the widest point of the calf muscle, so I thought these 16.25 inch circumference shaft boots would fit me - not the case. The boots zip up, but squeeze my calves super tight. I need to find tall boots that have a wide enough shaft around the muscle, but aren't crazy big below my slim knee. If you have narrower calves though, get these boots - they are gorgeous.

Love these boots. The leg was narrow and I could not zip it up all the way but I was able to bring them to the cobbler and have the upper leg stretched and now they fit perfect!

These are beautiful boots and my muscular calves fit in them although barely, but the soles felt very hard. I don't feel like breaking in boots and am looking for shoes that will be comfortable the moment I try them on. Sadly, these are going back.

I love these boots! Unfortunately this order was to get a half size larger and it turns out they were smaller in toe box than the 6 1/2 so I am returning. Frye is a gorgeous boot, but sometimes not the most comfortable.

I really like these boots except they are roomy at the ankle and calf. I tried them with an insole and they feel better, not 100% comfy yet but they should fit better with time. I was going to return them because I didn't think they were worth the price if I didn't love them 100% but I think I will feel better about them with the insoles. They cost me a lot CDN when ordering from this website (that is without duty when bringing them across the border).

This was my first Frye boot purchase. These boots are beautiful! I love the leather, style, and color. Unfortunately, my athletic 15" calves were too wide for the shaft (and there is no elastic goring at the top). I also ordered in my normal size, 8½, and felt that these boots were too roomy in the foot and ankle area. I had to return them.

I was so surprised when my larger calf (13.5") didn't fit into what should have been a 16.25" shaft, as described on zappos and the example size (7.5) is even the one I ordered. It may be 16.25" at the TOP of the shaft, by the knee, but at the widest point of my calf it must be 14" or under. They are also much, much too tall for a petite woman (5'4", on the tall side of petite) as the top of the boot shaft was grazing my kneecap. Otherwise, the quality seemed impeccable and I might have gotten the shaft stretched a bit had they not been so tall.
