It's a light comfortable jacket. I'm not sure how it's going to hold up to the worst of Chicago winter, but seems like it's going to do okay. What bothers me the most is the quality of all the zippers. I'm afraid I will break them anytime, including the side pockets and the main zipper. Given how much it's supposed to cost, and even the sale price, the quality should be higher. I've had many TNF jackets, and the quality is usually better. In addition, when I received the jacket, assuming it's new, there's a lot of white fuzz/lint around the stitching. Mine is made in Bangladesh, which makes me wonder if TNF products made there all of this quality issue. Lastly, products made in Bangladesh, given their minimum wage being the lowest in the world at $38/month or so, the jacket should not be anywhere near the MSRP.

I use this product for every day weather. I have cancer so my immune system is compromised and this coat keeps me warm.

My first NF product. Great coat, BUT had to size up! It runs small bc I normally wear Ladies’ Small or Medium clothing, but had to return to get a LARGE coat to go over my clothes. 5’3” 130lbs needs a LARGE size in this coat.

True to size. I ordered a medium. I am 5'3 and weigh 145lbs. You can cinch it at the waist so that it's it's fitted. The hoodie is removable. Very comfortable. I would recommend and buy again.

I can't wait to wear this jacket. I ordered the Gotham in small and medium, I kept the medium so I can layer. The hood is deep which makes for great ear coverage!

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for! I got the Xl and it fit perfect. As a teacher I need warm all weather clothing for outside duties. So glad I got this and can feel cute too!

I live in northern Minnesota where our worst winters have seen -65 wind chills. This is a fantastic jacket. The following review represents things I have noticed, they didn't really bother me. However, it may be important to others. My only suggestion would be to buy one size up if you would like room for heavier clothing like sweaters, as women's clothing tends to be much more form fitting than men's especially in the arm area. I am 5'6" / 140lbs and bought the large and it fits better than the medium size I normally would've purchased. The coat fabric is very heavy and stiff which immediately reminded me of canvas. It feels bulky when wearing it as it is not form fitted. The waist of the coat is not able to be brought in like some jackets, so it runs straight down without following body curves. If there actually was an inside cinch, trying to pull the bulky fabric would be difficult and look terrible. I noticed some people left negative reviews regarding the zippers. I found it's not really the zipper itself, but due to the bulkiness and the thickness of the outside fabric of the coat, it is hard to line up the zipper correctly when leaning over in order to zip it up. Leaning causes the front of coat to bunch up, and the thicker stiff fabric makes it harder to line up both sides and to see the zipper itself over the bunched fabric. There are buttons on the outside of the coat to help keep the cold air from going through the zipper. It has 2 large deep pockets that are secured with one large button, as well as two smaller vertical chest pockets held by smaller snaps (no zippers). There are two inside pockets: one large mesh one held by a snap, and a vertical smaller zippered one in the inside edge of the coat. Hood is lined with removable faux fur. Of note, I have noticed that the front snaps that hold the hood down in the front unsnap easier than I'd like them too, sometimes just by holding the coat by the hood. The hood itself is held in place by a zipper. It also has two snaps on the back where you can shorten your hood giving you a little better line of vision. The sleeves have an inner cuff to help keep air from travelling up the sleeve. Also, on the outside of each sleeve near the cuff is a flap of fabric that can be turned upward which has reflective fabric to make you a little easier to see if you are walking at night. On a whole it is a very nice looking warm coat . If you are someone looking for a very warm coat, and not set on having an extremely fashionable looking coat, this might be for you. I would buy again.

This is actually the 2nd Gotham jacket that I purchased. I also have the Gray color and love the fact that this jacket is extremely warm but very light weight. It fits true to size and is extremely comfortable when trying to move around and is not big or bulky. I was very surprised also at the fact that even in the coldest of whether you feel completely warm. It also washes really well carry and I would definitely recommend it and would purchase again because of the comfort and fit but also the fact that it's the warmest coat I've ever worn

Well of course this wonderful jacket was on my doorstep almost after I closed the IPad. Zappos is awesome and dependable. The jacket is exactly what I needed for the ski slopes. Length is great roomy enough for layering. The fur is removable which I might do. It flops around when hood is up. Might become a distraction trying to anchor it. I understand why it isn't tacked down. Nevertheless I'm happy.

I have older NF jackets in which I was always a size small. In this jacket, The small fit me in sleeves and chest but It was tight in hips. I tried the Medium and the sleeves are extremely long although the jacket fits in hips. The chest is also a bit too big for me in medium. I love the warmth this jacket provides and the quality of workmanship. The fur on hood is quite a lot and I got used to it and decided I liked it. The fur is not removable but the entire hood is. I’m still on the fence about keeping this jacket bc Of the sizing issues. I really want it to fit however bc it is a beautiful warm winter jacket. I got the gardenia white which is a soft winter white which I love.

This is the best coat I’ve bought, the color is more of a navy blue. It’s puffy and so warm if u r thinking about buying it DO ITTTTTT!!!

Great Winter Coat! Nice Fit! Very Warm and stylish! Great Value for the product. I don’t normally buy North Face esp their fleece bc Columbia fleece is much better quality & doesn’t pill up.

The jacket ran small so went up a size. Love it!

Very attractive fitted down jacket- you will not look dumpy in this. The hood is sewn on but the fur can be zipped off which most will do unless you walk outside in a storm and want to keep snow out of your face. Fit is true to size but be aware this down coat is cut fitted which in my opinion keeps you warmer. I ordered my normal size L and it allows room for laying a fleece underneath. I love this jacket. I own far heavier LL Bean coats for New England winters. I wore this coat yesterday (in the great NE freeze of Feb 2023 where the temperature in Mass was about 4 degrees) to go out and I was fine! I will add that I had a fleece sweatshirt underneath. As far as hats- if you're using the hood, a fitted to skull hat is better than a pom pom topped hat as it pushes the hood up kind of high and pointy. All in all, I love this jacket!

Got in size small .very warm and true to size.was looking for the jacket that is not too long or too short,finally got one that I wanted.

I only wear this jacket during the winter months. Get lot of compliments from friends.

Bought this jacket for my first northeastern winter. As a Floridian that just moved to Boston I am excited to see how this holds up! I bought a medium so I can layer things underneath.
