These are amazing -- so amazing I bought both colors! Within days of each other. Very comfortable on first wear (there's elastic on the strap by the arch -- they hold my foot "snug" against the base). I absolutely am obsessed with these shoes. Buy them. You will not regret it! I wore them all day with zero issues...and they style is amazing, like all Freebirds.

This is a beautiful shoe. It is also very comfortable. I wear a size 7, average width and it was perfect for me. I bought the cognac and returned the black - it was too vintage for me. I was hoping for a truer black. Beautiful shoe if you are looking for a more weathered black. Cognac is great.

What a shame I couldn't keep these but with my high arch there was no way my foot could slide into these snug shoes!

A bit clunky. Tight around the arch. I don't consider myself to have a high arch either.

This shoe is extremely cute and the quality is spot on. However, they pinched my foot towards the bottom (where the leather separates). I haven't found a pair of Freebirds to fit comfortably yet, but they are so cute and trendy that I'm going to keep trying. Thank goodness for the ease of ordering and returning with Zappos.

I really wanted to like these sandals. They are so contemporary looking. I bought them in the ice color and the first thing my husband said is they looked dirty...a little too much wearing on the leather. They were also uncomfortable as the top half cut into my foot. The shoes looked like they had been somewhat stretched out already, and I have a narrow foot. Had to send them back.

Absolutely love! Great fit straight from the box. Able to wear all day, while on my feet entire time as a teacher. Beautiful style, wonderfully crafted. I have a high arch and high instep, reasonably narrow to medium width. True to size for my foot structure. This is my third pair of Freebirds and will definately be adding more to my collection!

I love these shoes. The leather smells great. They are great quality. I have high arches - so they have to go back. Bummer.

Love my Freebird Stairway's, but the Claw, not so much. I ordered my normal size...the length is maybe a little too long, but the boot was so difficult to get on...super tight across the ball of my foot. Also the back of the boot seems a little too tall - kind of digs in to the back of my ankle. Back they go. Just ordered a pair of Ara booties, so hopefully they will be better, but alas, that's another review!

I cannot begin to explain how UNcomfortable and painful these shoes are. Unfortunately, I wore them outside and now can't return them due to scuffs on the sole. I thought I just needed to break them in, but they broke ME. Ouch ouch ouch. Even insoles didn't help very much.

I absolutely love these shoes and they are super comfortable. However I am so disappointed. I had these shoes less than a year and have worn them less that a dozen times and the straps on the side have cracked and come apart. It's the same 2 straps on each shoe so it's a design flaw. These shoes were expensive for me and I really expected them to last for a while.
