I'm a big fan of the original Adidas Sambas. Thought these would be pretty cool since they had a simpler, cleaner look minus the traditional 3 stripes. The shoe itself is sort of like a cross between a Samba and Chuck Taylors, but somehow the mix of those two really great shoes made these somewhat disappointing. The fit is okay, just not as smooth as an original Samba, definitely closer to the bare bones fit of Chucks. The most glaring dislike for me is the heel, it seems to ride too high and causes a bit of irritation on my Achilles tendon, again that's probably because it lacks the bit of cushion regular Sambas do. Also notice that white trim along the back? For whatever reason it's not sewn or glued down. To me that looks and feels really cheap, I almost thought it was a manufacturing defect and was ready to return my pair until I looked it up and saw that's how they come. Definitely knocked it down a few stars for me. Overall 3/5 Stars from me.

fit well for my 13 yr old son. He liked them, which is even more important! only worn a few times so far, so can't comment on how they will hold up yet.

I love these canvas Sambas, extremely comfortable with understated style which I like. I had to order a half size larger because my usual 11's were a little tight in the length.

I haven't had samaba's in a decade and either I forgot how comfortable or they've made some upgrades. Amazingly comfortable and a super clean look. Where 'em with a suit, ditch the suit and play a pick up game.

Bought these for my husband. Great casual sneaker...looks good with jeans. He said they are comfortable but run a little narrow but think after a few wears will be just fine. On the first day he wore them he got tons of compliments from strangers on the street. Would definitely recommend.

I was overly impressed by these. The canvas limits their usage to non-sport related activities (think of them like Converse Chuck Taylor's) but they are really amazing in simple style. Super comfortable insert gives more support than expected. I was already a fan of Samba's for my sport life - and now I look forward to wearing these in my everyday life too. I'm a woman's 8.5 and I order a men's 7 - but I have slightly wide feet. I ordered the light grey pair and they were true to the photos.

My son usually gets the traditional (indoor soccer) Sambas to wear to school. This year, he wanted a different color and liked these. They are canvas shoes which keep his feet from getting so hot and are very comfortable according to him. He is usually very hard on shoes, and we have only had these for a week, so we do not yet know how well they hold up.

If you read the review by Adam B from Lancaster just know he is totally wrong! These shoes are awesome! I bought them for wear primarily on my motorcycle but have found the super cushion insole and canvas comfort keeps these on my feet nearly all the time. Chucks are garbage! I am 6'4" and 325 pounds and these are just awesome whether it is the streets of Chicago or my sailboat deck or on the bike. They are awesome! Get these! Chucks are for sheep that follow other followers...

Have you ever wanted to own a pair of Sambas but the trademark three stripes and leather or faux leather deterred you? Your wish has now been granted with these stylish (mostly) canvas Sambas. I love the rubber sole, the fold-over tongue, and the subtle yet classy gold trefoil on the back. Anyone who is a soccer or sneaker freak will zero in on these new kicks. "Those are Sambas?! - I want a pair!"

These stylish, breathable shoes are solid and well made. Unlike the leather Samba classics, the textile upper (with suede detailing) and solid rubber outsole keep you cool and comfortable. Though I love the traditional three-stripe Samba, the understated (nearly) all-black shoe is sharp. I wear a fifteen, and this shoe felt just a bit large, but I tend to wear two pairs of socks when I play and that seems to mitigate the issue for me. A good buy!

Excelletnt shoe! I am a woman with a narrow foot and these fit me well so, perhaps they run a little narrow? I marked that they felt true to width only because I don't usually wear mens' sneakers. My husband has worn Sambas since he was a teenager so they are tried and true. Sturdy, stylish and comfortable. Easy to clean/don't show dirt. I use them for my errand-running and dog-walking and shoes. Bought them as kind of an alternative to my usual high top Converse. The brown sole as opposed to the white of converse is definitely a selling point for me, in terms of looking clean. Anyway, very pleased with these sneaks, will definitely buy again.

Very comfortable. I've always enjoyed the look of Converse All Stars, but they lack any comfort for walking. These shows have a similar style and are so much easier on the feet when doing heavy walking.

I really like these shoes. Lightweight, durable and most of all stylish. In fact I have a pair in red and black. If they still make them when I'm in the market again, I'd buy a different color as well. They are bit more narrow than I'm used to, but they do break in after a couple weeks.

I've had the Classic Sambas before and I think this is a nice interpretation of a modern one. Super comfortable insoles, a tad heavier though than the Classic ones due to thicker gum soles. Minimal branding in Gold, very sharp shoe.

Who wouldn't want canvas Sambas! Tongue is a little longer than the leather version and fit is a tiny bit snug (but not enough to order another size). Love the way they look.

I have been trying to buy Adidas in navy for over a year. But my size (men's 10) has always been unavailable, which is just ridiculous so I decided on this pair. I love the look but I had to order a 10½ rather than my standard 10, a first ever for me on any work shoe or sneaker. I was not expecting any arch support and was not disappointed, you do not buy sneakers like these for arch support.

I have had these shoes for four months and after two months they developed an odd discoloration, almost a yellow tinge. As well, they began retaining and amplifying foot odor. I know it sounds crazy, but I have never had to worry about foot odors until I got these shoes. I use deodorizers, but I can smell them even know as I am sitting at my desk. The worst part, however, is that they have ripped through normal use, not even any running. I noticed a large tear on the outside middle of the right shoe, right at the connection to the sole. I am usually a big fan of Adidas and I love the Samba Classic, but these shoes are making me rethink my loyalty.

If you like the idea of the Samba made out of cheaper materials (canvas), fitting poorly and being uncomfortable for much more than a normal pair's cost, then these shoes are for you. Basically it's like they tried to turn the Samba style into a pair of Chucks, but instead made a shoe that fits awfully and seems cheap. Mine went right to the return box.

Look closely at the pictures of these shoes before buying them. They use cheap materials and feel like knock offs. The tongue is long and rides up your ankle and the back "adidas" flap catches onto your jeans because it's not sewn into the shoe. If you still want to buy these, you should order a full size smaller than you usually do. I ordered 10 1/2 and they feel like clown shoes. Overall: If you've bought sambas before because you like the quality and consistency of the product, then do not buy these shoes.

This is a great shoe, the padding is dope BUT it runs too small. I wear a size twelve and these smushed my foot. I'm getting them in a 13 and hopefully they fit.
