I read all of the reviews trying to understand the difference between the suede and leather. everyone missed the point. Here is the point. i had worn the leather for years but wanted to try the suede. As other note, the suede is more comfortable on your foot when worn without socks. the footbed is the same in both. the only downside is that the suede doesnt retain its shape when not on your foot, so you can't just put the shoe on in less than 1 second like the leather. if that is super important to you, you will be annoyed. this shoe takes 5-10 seconds to get it on your foot. other than that, only pluses when compared to leather.

I've always loved the look of Birkenstocks but found the footbed too hard for my comfort. These soft footbed Birkenstocks are the answer. They are super comfy. I usually wear a 6.5/7 - if you're in between sizes go with the smaller size. I also needed the narrow width as I think they run a little wide. Overall, very pleased!

It's been a long time since I wore Birkenstock sandals. I am in my sixties now, and need a more supportive and comfortable shoe. Decided to go with the new Soft Footbed style and so glad I did. When you get older, you lose some of the "padding" on the bottom of your feet, so this style helps to cushion my tender tootsies. I have a narrow foot, so narrow width is perfect. I wear a size 10 shoe usually, so size 41 was my correct size. And (just like my college days) I ordered the soft suede straps. (before i settled on the suede, I tried the artificial fabric and the oiled leather) I found both stiff and uncomfortable. Most of the color choices were out of stock, so I got the mocha. I like it. I also am impressed with the Customer service. It's the best!

As I hate wearing shoes, I am fine wearing these. These are the only shoes that I will wear. They will last forever! Just be sure to use cork protector as needed. I also spray them with suede protector. I have ordered through Zappos for years. My daughter has me order shoes for her friends. I never had to return anything. Zappos backs up everything they say they will, no hassles. Best of all call your order in, the best customer service ever. Great people to talk with, get personal help. If you have never wore these, try them you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

I typically wear 7.5 (Vionic and Mephisto) to 8 (Uggs) with standard Medium/B width. I experienced a significant plantar fasciitis episode during the pandemic summer (2020) and wanted a supportive casual sandal to wear this summer(2021). After 5 or 6 pairs Birkenstocks ordered (37, 38, 39) and reading 100+ reviews, I’ve finally found the perfect pair for me - mocha brown (rich and saturated color), suede straps (super soft), soft footbed (zero break-in time), and size 39 Narrow. I’ve had a bit of the previously mentioned suction action in the heel cup occasionally but it’s not a dealbreaker. I will probably buy Boston clog and/or Mary Jane for the fall & winter. I would have preferred a golden brass buckle, in any case, I definitely recommend the Arizona (though a little basic/common in appearance). A pedicure is a must.

love these shoes, I have really bad plantars fasciitis and these shoes are amazing, my feet don't hurt as bad when walking in them . They have actually became my most favorite shoes. I will def get me another pair. Highly recommend them if you have the same issues with your feet, you will be glad you did, and make sure you order the softbed style when you do

I was looking for a comfortable, supportive sandal since I’m trying to responsible adult things and stop wearing flip flops out of the house. These are awesome! I am a first time Birkenstock owner and wasn’t sure of my sizing so I ordered several. I am normally a 9.5-10 in women’s shoes, and tried the 40 and 41, ended up buying the 41. I tried the regular and narrow fits and although I don’t consider myself to have a narrow foot I chose the narrow fit which fit perfectly. The wide was certainly too wide, and I’ve read that the Arizona is a wider fit so that makes sense.

These have been my summertime shoes for almost 20 years (oh wow, that's a long time). I've got wide feet, and was initially worried about the fact that these only come in narrow. It's cool, these shoes are fantastic after a week of getting them molded to your feet. For those of you who eventually find the straps becoming loose, get yourself a nice little leather hole punch. It's really satisfying.

You guys need to get a pair of these. I think after God made man and woman, he made Birkenstock sandals to make their feet comfy. Form-fitting love to help you get through your day.

These do take a bit to break in, but look great and feel great! Really like the look of these compared to the shiney-er ones that are a little cheaper and the suede seems sturdy!

This is my second pair of Birkenstock’s. Love the soft footbed. Great, good quality, comfortable and classic shoe. Can’t go wrong. In most shoes I wear a men’s size 9, in Birkenstock’s I wear EU 41.

This is my second pair of Birkenstock Soft Footbed sandals. As you wear them they form to your feet and are amazingly comfortable. They are a little pricey but they last a long time and your feet will thank you!

The soft footbed is the only way to go!!! My son and I both only purchase them, these were a gift for him as he needed a second good pair.

I've always loved my Birkenstock Arizonas but when I broke my foot five years ago I had to wear only sneakers and have continued to do so in spite of 3 foot surgeries. Now that I'm healing with my newly formed foot, I went back to my Arizonas but discovered my foot couldn't tolerate the standard foot bed because of the toe bar. I tried the soft footbed and it made all the difference in the world. It was so comfortable, I bought the same shoe in black birkoflor. BTW, I've got a narrow size 7.5 foot and I bought the 38 narrows. Perfect fit!

These are one of the most comfortable sandals I've owned! I've only worn one other style of Birkenstock's with the thong between the toes. My feet did not take to them kindly. The soft footbed of the Arizona Suede are completely different. The footbed is exceptionally soft to walk on and the suede is unbelievably soft (no rubbing). I chose the dark brown mocha and love them. The price is higher than I would have liked to have spent, but in the end I feel they are worth it. I will be ordering another color in the not so far future. Thank you to Zappo's awesome delivery service too!

This is my fourth pair of Birkenstock but the first in suede with a soft footbed. They are very comfortable uppers. The soft footbed is great! I'm very happy with my purchase and with Zappos.

I am a longtime fan of the Arizona Birk. I bought it years ago in the original light tan suede and planned on buying it again until I saw the gorgeous chocolate mocha color. I also tried the soft footbed, which I love, and figured if I was going to be so adventurous, I might as well give the narrow footbed a shot. I loved all of my choices! I have a normal to wide foot and as Birkenstock's are unisex, this worked perfectly for me. I have found for ultimate comfort you have to wear this sandal for a bit so that it conforms to your foot imprint, which it does after a few wearing's. Highly recommend. Birkenstock has not changed the quality of it's shoe which is delightful and surprising.

This is my umpteenth pair of Birkenstocks and I love them all. My feet are quite narrow and Birkenstocks narrow option works just fine. The soft footbed is a Godsend. I have loved it since it was initially introduced. These sandals wear like iron and are fully repairable. The only improvement would be that the leather portion of the sandals would be pretreated for water resistance.

This is my third pair of Arizona's. I wore out the first and decided to have a back-up to my second pair in taupe. I love them and live in them all summer. These felt slightly wider even with the straps adjusted as far as they would go, but it isn't a problem. Love Zappos stellar service as always.

These sandal are very comfy however, being that they are suede they left black or dark marks along my toes and foot. Other than the aforementioned these sandals are very comfortable!

Too hard to keep on my feet unless I really tighten them up but the thing is you can’t just slip these on the straps are soft leather

I so wanted to keep these sandals but my toes kept rubbing up on the front edge. They also felt very loose especially the right one and it didn’t matter that I cinched them to the last hole. I was devastated, I really wanted these to fit
