I love these SO MUCH! Gorgeous leather and such a unique style, compliments all day long. Comfortable out of the box, I wore them all day. I imagine they'll just get better. I have athletic calves and the laces allow a perfect fit, yay!! A little struggle to get them on with a bare foot but with tights or leggings and a thin sock they slide right on.

These are great boots. However, if you have a high arch (like me) your regular size wouldn't fit. I couldn't get into 9 at all, but ordered a 10 and was very happy with it. Worn it in my Europe trip for 2 weeks almost every day. Amazing style and very comfortable!

These are pretty but they run a full size smaller.

Very beautiful boots. Hard to return, but they just aren't as comfortable as my other boots.

Love the boot but the Grey is more of a Taupe/Brown so I am returning it. Order 1/2 size up as it runs small.

I just received these boots and they are everything I expected except they do not go over the knee. They hit a little awkwardly on me, just about 1/4 of the way up my knee, but they are so awesome I might keep them anyway. I wear a 6.5-7 and the seven I ordered fit like a glove right out of the box. No need to adjust laces, or struggle to get my foot in. For the record I have a shallow arch and exactly a medium width foot.

I purchased these last year the first week they first came out and I adored this pair of boots. The compliments I received alone was worth the price and the fact that they stand out and no one else had them was great. Great quality and it doesn't look like some cheap boots everyone else is wearing. I love the distressed look of these and it's been a year since I purchased these and I am so glad it is fall weather and these dress up any boring outfit and make you look edgy.

WOW - Splurge purchase - BUT bit-it and went for it - NOT disappointed. Love everything freebird - My second pair. Don't know why others are complaining r/t donning them - went on like butter - just a tad snug (I need a little vertical space in the toe-bed) but after allowing the leather to warm they are already forming to my foot; will require just a little break-in period. Try a pair of English riding boots for a challenge getting them on. I digress -- GREAT BOOTS! Can't wait for fall to get some serious wear-time.

Great boots. DEFINITELY runs small. I wear 8 or 8 1/2 I ordered 9 and they just fit. Very unique look which I like.

Love! Yes, they are a bit stiff to get on, and I couldn't try them on with socks, but they fit like a dream. I have some other lace up boots, so I know those have to be adjusted and then broken in, but no way I would return these! They make a statement and just the one I want! I have real problems with my feet, but for these I would suffer if need be, but I don't think I will at all! I will need to get some arch support inserts, but that is all. I just love them!

I was watching these boots for a while; I usually wear a size 10. These were not available in my size. I decided to try a size 9. I am glad that I did; like the other reviews it is a little difficult getting these boots on. Once I got them on the fit was just right.

I adore these boots. They are so comfortable and unique looking. The leather is very soft and supple, I got these in grey but it's really more of a distressed tan. I believe they run true to size and are worth every dime.

Absolutely love these boots! They run true to size and fit great through the calf even though I tend to have wider than normal calves. I get compliments EVERY time I wear them - and they are so comfortable I wear them A LOT with everything from skirts to jeans to leggings. Great boots!

My Freebird Cole Boots from Zappos just arrived and I'm over the moon! First of all the color is spectacular! I ordered the wine suede and was so worried the color would be a rust color like in the photos but they are a fabulous wine color--deep, gorgeous wine--just what I was hoping for! Second, they smell amazing--I just love that rich leather smell! Third, the fit is perfect! I have 13" calves and I have no problem lacing them up all the way to the top with enough leather leftover to make a normal bow or tie a knot. I've also laced them 3 eyelets down from the top and they look just as good (the leather does not flap over when I tie them this way). It took no time to get them on with leggings and I'm sure skinny jeans will work as well--with dresses they will be oh so sexy! The heel height is fab and they are very comfortable. I normally wear a 7 1/2M in shoes and the 8M is perfect with plenty of room in the toe box (thankfully since I have a bunion on one foot that requires a little extra room). I am in love with these boots and I can't stop ogling them! They are so fine!

These boots are absolute stunners! The leather has a lot of variation in the wash but just adds to the character. Very comfortable with a low chunky heel. I have narrow calves, lacing allows for adjusting. I'm usually 8.5 and the 9 fit great.

These boots are gorgeous and perfect for those of us with small calves. The laces can be loosened or tightened at will and I think another reviewer said the laces don't go all the way to the top, but it's one continuous piece of leather lacing from around the ankle all the way up. So you could re-lace these however you like. These are very high-quality leather boots. I got the black which is more gray but the distressing is even and not blotchy or cheap looking. The chunky heel is great. I love these boots!!

These boots are stunning and the back panel of burgundy just adds to the design. They are definitely more on the grey side than black. Order a size up, they are narrow and getting past the hard heel will take a little breaking in.

I owned a ladies boutique in Long Beach, New York and was one of the first stores to carry Freebird, so paying retail really annoys me. I was well aware of the fit issues that this brand has but I was dying for wine colored boots this season. I have to say that I just opened the box and was ready for the fight to get these babies on as the other review mentioned but they went right on and are absolutely awesome! I love them and they are worth every penny.

These are quite unique and a head turner from the back. Very simple in the front but the lace up corset factor in the back is very charming and sexy. Keep in mind if you have large calves these might not be for you anything over a 15 inch calf might have issues getting these on. Sizing is way off so go up a size especially if you'll be wearing fluffy socks, I read most of the reviews and based my decision on sizing up and I am so glad I did because these are comfy and I can walk in them all day.

Beautiful boot! I wish it would have fit me but my calves are too big! If you have small calves, this boot is for you. You will not be sorry. It is more stunning than reflected in the photo.

These boots look so darn good when worn it does not matter how long it takes to put them on and it does take a while to adjust the laces when trying to get them on. They are not boots that one can jump into and run out the door. It takes time but it is well worth it because these boot are sizzling, sassy, comfortable and well made. I have only worn them a few times so I am still adjusting those laces to where I can slip them on and off faster. Those dang Ugg boots have spoiled me because I can run and jump into those but they are so very Uggly. After wearing my Uggs, it is nice to have a pair of cool boots and Freebird's Coal is one of my favorite cool and comfortable boots once I get them on.

Okay, so first off, these boots are gorgeous. I'm incredibly happy with the purchase. I wish they were at a different price point, however, it is what it is. The laces make them unique, so even if you own a lot of knee high leather boots they are truly one of a kind. The only negative that I have is that they are kind of hard to pull on, even when the side of the boot is unzipped. The calf is very narrow. They pair well with dresses and skirts. Due to the tightness in the shaft, I don't know how well they will work with skinny jeans. Overall, I am over the moon about the purchase.

These boots are more than all that! I have worn them twice in less than 24 hours and have received compliments galore. They are comfortable, chic and just amazing! They are worth the money!

Ok, so, for those who are wide in foot, high in arch, wide in calf or faint of heart, these boots are a tough wear. What do I mean by that? If you've ever struggled to get western style boots on, that is this boot. I resorted to placing my foot in a plastic produce bag to get them to slide on and then a bit of a struggle to get the bag out. Once on, they're ok. But they easily are a full to half size small too. And for being designated for wide calf, that's true to an extent. You have to take down the whole lace and unwrap one or two sections from the foot area and re-lace them. I chose one unwrap and left out the lowest 3 holes when relacing them as well as the very top 2 holes. This allows them to fit over somewhat wide calves and jeans. The suede making up the back of the boot doesn't help, its kinda 'draggy' when pulling them over jeans. Overall, I guess I'll keep them, I'm 5'10 and these come to just below my knee. I will seek professional boot stretching for both the foot and the instep. I will not recommend them unless you have thin feet, thin calves, and patient. Hopefully they'll eventually be broken in enough to get on in under 5 minutes!
