I have a wide foot with a high arch. In a running shoe I purchase 4e when possible. Finding an approach shoe to fit was a challenge and I am thankful that Zappos provides such a wide array of offerings. Of the dozen or so shoes I tried on these were among the most comfortable. However the appearance disqualified them. My eventual purchase was the Scarpa Zen Pro but had they not been available I might easily have chosen this shoe. Thanks.

This shoe is my go to around the office and on daily hikes. The fit is really true to size for an approach shoe. I would go up a half size if I was to do a lot of miles. The best part is the grip of the Pomoca outsole. It is perfectly grippy and has barely worn down! As a Salewa employee I wear this shoe to trade shoes and daily hike in these!

Great shoes! Fit was exactly as described. Been dealing with foot pain and most of it went away after purchasing these!

Equally adept as light hikers or burly everyday outdoor work shoes. Excellent fit & finish per usual with Salewa

My wife wears a women's size 10 or 10.5, but her W's 10 Wildfire were too small and her her toes on one foot were "pinched". She thought she'd try a Men's 9.5 as the men's version has a wider toe box than the women's shoes. They arrived on a timely basis and after 3 or 4 days of constant wear, she is thrilled with her new Wildfires and they are exceptionally comfortable. She does want to get some new insoles as the W's has a higher arch than the M's which is completely flat and she prefers the arch support.

Salewa has become my go to shoe/boot company! I have two pair of Wildfire, this being my second pair. I normally wear a size 11, maybe 11.5 in some, but with Salewa I wear a 12. The fit is awesome! No break in period, just take them out of the box and go. I really like the sticky sole on the Wildfire because I walk/hike all sorts of different terrain and these work in everything from slick rock to mud to grass to the sidewalks. Nice padding and the lace to toe is much appreciated. In my opinion, these are tough shoes to beat!

These shoes are great daily drivers, around town, on the trail and everywhere in between. It's a sticky, aggressive sole that does well in any conditions, including solid grip on wet rock! Supportive enough for day trips or scrambling on easy climbs. As a Salewa employee, these are one of my go-to shoes!

This is the second pair of Salewa athletic shoes I have purchased, which is a statement itself. They are comfortable, which is a challenge for me because me feet are two different sizes. They feel good and they look good. What else could I ask for? Arrived earlier than expected and I have ordered from Zappos for years without ever having a problem. I trust them.

I LOVE my Salewa shoes. This is my seventh pair of Firetail/Wildfire shoes. I also own several pairs of boots. Super comfortable. I love the style (although never was a fan of the Firetail 3 looks). Salewa are pretty much the only shoes/boots that I wear. Everything from hiking, backpacking and climbing to daily wear around town, traveling. EVERYTHING!

A good in option for a light hiking shoe that slots between a normal trail runner and a heavier, traditional hiking shoe. These shoes have a nice stiff base and decent ankle support of a regular hiking shoe, but are fairly light weight and very breathable like a trail runner. The ankle locks in the heel-cap tightly, for little to no rubbing, but there is still ample space for the toes to spread out. Tread feels more than adequate and the rubber compound has good traction on rock surfaces. Not the prettiest thing ever, but in the end they look like shoes.

Just received these and have not had a chance to test them outside. But they fit like a glove, light and comfortable. Thank you for very speedy service! Very much appreciated.

The only reason for the two stars in the comfort category is because the toe box was too narrow for my feet. The left shoe was especially tight on my outside toes. I believe if the fit was better, they would have been fine.

I have a medium-wide foot with a low arch. I wear a 12 in dress shoes and usually a 12.5 in athletic shoes. Of all the approach shoes I tried on, these had the best feel on my feet. "Butter" was the word that came to mind. Yeah baby. I had to size up to a 13 so my outer toes didn't rub the toe box. These have POMOCA outsoles with super sticky compound. It sounded like suction cups walking around on tile, so I bet they can climb. My size thirteens were right around 17 oz each; not heavy, not light. There's a lot to like about these shoes: comfort, sticky soles, breathable mesh upper, well thought out design. I cant speak to the long term durability, but I am now a Salewa fan and will be keeping them in mind for future purchases. There was one issue that killed the deal for me, that may not be an issue for you. The outsole is a little narrow and has somewhat of a side to side rocker. Since my foot is medium to wide, I found that I could roll the shoe (and my ankle) really easily compared to others in this shoe class. My goal was to get a hiking oriented approach shoe, ultimately purchasing the heavier, more stable Scarpa Zen. Try them for yourself, you may love em; I did, except for the above concern.

Received these with speedy delivery and i am pleasantly surprised. I've been looking for a great day hiking shoe that had great traction, arch support, and does not give me blisters.

I have the Salewa Alp Trainer boots, and they are the most comfortable thing I've ever put on my feet. I was looking for a lower version those boots, but found these to be a lot narrower, and since they are more of an approach shoe, they don't have the cushioning or comfort of the Alp Trainer boots. I think if you had narrow feet and were looking for a true approach shoe, these would probably work really well.

Way too small in length and width. Possibly a full size too small, at least a half size too small. Outsole is terribly narrow in the middle. Had good luck with Salewa in the past but this shoe had to go back. Even if I figured out the right size I would be worried about rolling my ankle like another reviewer wrote.
