Amazing! Okay, so first thing to say is these are European sizes so for example a EU 42 is a US 11 not a 12! I have seen this mistaken made repeatedly on different sites. If you get the wrong size, of course it will not fit properly and that is not the manufacturer's fault. Take EU size and subtract 31 and you get true US sizing. This goes for all EU sizing in women's shoes. Now on to the actual boots, they are fantastic! I bought a different pair of Dansko boots last year and wore them 12 to 14 hours a day for a week straight while touring Washington DC! While the style of these is different everything else including the heels height and width and cushioned insole are the same. I actually prefer this style which is very similar to a Swedish brand that are insanely expensive (you know which brand I'm talking about)! I prefer these because I have a bad back and am fluffy so I'm not sure my feet could handle walk on wood all day (the Swedish clog like boots are wood soled). I get asked repeatedly who makes them and get compliments all the time. This is only my 3rd pair of Dansko but they have yet to disappoint. They are cut for medium width so wide widths beware these may not work. Also the top of the boots has a generous opening (I'm fluffy but do not have cankles, thank you very much!) so not sure how super skinny ankles chicks will look. I have worn them with tapered ankle pants, a midi skirt and cropped leggings which all looked damn good! I bought the taupe color since most of my boots are black but honestly these are so amazing I may need to buy the black ones because one the season is over Dansko will probably discontinue the style. I suggest spraying them with a suede waterproof spray or bring them to a cobbler before rocking them in the rain or snow. Especially the taupe I would think will be a mess without the spray. If you need a pair of extremely supportive and stylish booties, then do not hesitate because you will not regret buying these beauties!

Hi - Dansko! I am just returning this item. I loved it, but found it a huge struggle to get my foot into it. The opening is too narrow for a right-angled foot to bend into the boot. I thought about taking it to a leather worker and having them cut a small triangle on the outside, and put elastic in it, but after spending this much for the boot, I decided not to. If you have high arches or a healthy sized foot, you will not be able to get it on. I hope Dansko is reading this! Please remake your boot, and I will buy it again! Love clogs - they are so comfortable.

I have owned the Black Nubuck and the Black Full Grain version of these shoes so I thought I could offer some good insights into both. I work in retail and am on my feet all day (8 hrs), so I was looking for a stylish bootie with great support. These aren't quite the same footbed & arch support as Dansko professional clogs, but they are still excellent for my needs. They offer great arch support and the rubber soles are amazing shock absorbers. I am a size US 8 1/2 and I wear a size 39 in Danskos. I purchased the nubuck version first because there wasn't another option available. They were very soft and comfortable right out of the box, no break in period at all. They did stretch out pretty quickly and my foot moved around a bit in them. After wearing them almost daily for about 2.5 years, the sole on one of them split across the middle of the footbed. This is what prompted me to buy a new pair. I thought it was a little unusual for Danskos to have this issue and mentioned it to a friend. He said considering how long I've owned them and how often I wore them that I probably got my moneys worth. So I decided to replace them. For my 2nd pair I went for the full grain leather because I like the look better. They look a little dressier and definitely have a similar look to the popular Hasbeens. I can dress them up pretty easily compared to my nubucks, which always felt a little too casual. When my new pair arrived they were EXTREMELY tight - in the toe box and in the heel. So much so, that I thought I was going to have to go up a size. I wore them around the house a bit and to my surprise, they started to stretch out fairly quickly. I was able to wear them to work the next day and they were fine all day. I started with thin socks and gradually worked into thicker ones. What I also really like about the full grain leather is that they hold their shape MUCH better than the nubuck. I kept my old nubuck pair and I wear them when doing projects like painting, etc...since I don't have to worry about them getting ruined. Every time I put them on I realize how much they stretched out. I have to wear really thick socks with them now. Lastly, it's worth pointing out that the full grain does mark-up really easily. They're looking a bit thrashed right now and I've yet to find any care instructions for these on the Dansko website but I'm going to email them. I would recommend both and hopefully my review will help you determine which one would be the best fit for you.

Gorgeous boot, but absolutely NOT medium width. The boot is so narrow I couldn't even get my foot all the way in. SO bummed.

These are beautiful and well-made ankle booties. I have been a long time wearer of Dansko clogs and have always worn size 37. After reading many reviews I ordered size 36 in the taupe color. I believe that the reviews on size are conflicting because customers are wearing these booties in a variety of ways. For me, I am purchasing the booties for early spring to wear with cuffed jeans. In this pursuit, I am looking to wear thin ped socks to be able to show some skin above the boot. Therefore, the size 36 fits great. Additionally, the taupe color is an ideal and versatile light grey.

Oh Maria, here I am on Zappos in the same place I was last year. Ready to order another pair of these wonderful shoes. After unexpectedly moving to Oregon, becoming a bike commuter and working in retail full time on my feet I didn't have any shoes to fit the bill. These have been everything and more. I have worn them everyday to work for a year, through the rain, on my bike. Because they are leather, the initial fit is snug. I had to go down to a 7 from being a 7.5 normally. However, once the leather ages the shoes become more comfortable and will become the most true to size shoe you will ever have. You can also clean them and buff them and the black stays dark - I love wearing them out on evening occasions (especially in the winter). The heel is tall enough for support and length but not to make you tower or uncomfortable, and the faux wood contrast always catches attention. Truly can wear with everything (Maybe the exception is hiking, but I hope that is obvious). I have gotten so many compliments, and I just tell people - Spend the money on Maria.

I loved the way this boot felt, and with 2 extra inches of shaft, I would have kept them. If you are into rolling your jeans up and showing a little ankle, or you want to wear these with skirts, they will work great. But the boot shaft is too short to tuck skinny jeans.

These are my favorite boots that I have ever owned! I bought a pair in the tan a couple of years ago and I love them but didn’t wear them as much because it is so mucky in the Pacific Northwest. I am super excited to have them in the black now. Waterproof and so so comfy. I also love that they can work dressed up or dressed down and also handle a couple miles of walking with zero soreness or rubbing. I rarely write reviews but if you were debating about buying these, do it!

Amazing. I'll start off by saying I wear a US 10 about 99% of the time, but for 15+ years I have worn a 41 in Dansko shoes. So I consider these true to size, as my size has never fluctuated with the brand (41 is sometimes a 10, others 10.5, etc). I definitely do not have narrow feet, and had no problem getting these on. Boots & booties are usually my nemesis, and lots of times feel too tight, but these are PERFECT. I always wear medium width shoes, though I'm on the wider end of a regular foot. As per usual, the comfort and arch support on these is wonderful. I have struggled to find cute shoes the last couple of years, having musculoskeletal issues that make heels impossible. These are a great way to get the style I want, without having to compromise being able to walk. I told my husband I need these in every color I can find!

I am thrilled with these shoes. I have never owned a pair of Danskos before so I was unsure of the sizing. I had tried them on some years ago but found them to be very clunky. Not these! I am almost always a 7.5 and I ordered the 37. Perfect fit. Since I now have a toddler running around, I need to put comfort first these days. Luckily, these are VERY comfortable right out of the box AND just as stylish. Sure, they aren't the you-know-what... They're better!: made in America, employee-owned, stylish, more comfortable, and reasonably priced. Love, love, love. (Also, they zip on the side so I don't know why anyone would have trouble getting them on).

These clog-style booties are wardrobe staples! I bought the neutral last season and I had to wait until this year for the black as they were continually sold out everywhere. These shoes are exceptionally comfortable, and I say so as a New Yorker who walks everywhere. Unlike most clogs and Danskos in general, the sole actually flexes even though it's styled as wood. Although I typically don't like the look of fake wooden clogs (I've always really loved traditional clogs and have many wooden pairs), I still love these booties! Totally worth the price, you'll wear them everywhere. As for sizing, I'm a pretty standard 6.5 U.S. but for these I am very comfortable in a 36. I have other European sized shoes in 36 but usually I am a 37. Since a 36 worked in these, I'd say they may run a little large.

So so cute! They feel a slight bit tight but I know clogs need a little while to break in. I wear a 6.5 consistently but ordered these in a 36 and they are grand.

Wonderful shoes. At first I thought they were too small but after a day they were perfect. Very comfortable. I went with my true dansko size 38 knowing they fit well with thin socks. If you want room for thick socks you will need to size up, however I think a full size up would be too big. I work in retail and stand 8 hours a day on cement and my feet never hurt!

It's like walking on two tiny clouds that make you taller and more stylish. I'm typically a size 6-6.5, and alternate between a 36 and 37 in European sizes. The 36 fits me perfectly with these. I own the black and taupe and love both.

I think this boot is adorable but it is a weird cut for Dansko. I had trouble getting my foot into the boot because the opening is so small. The zipper should go lower, I guess. When the boot is on, the top of the foot is too tight. These are not complaints that I have ever had with other shoes - so it is not me.

Too narrow. I ordered my first pair more than a year ago in my usual 39. Kept it despite the narrow fit hoping that it would stretch with wear- no dice. The boot was durable and nice looking though, so I ordered a second pair a size larger. Long story short, the 40 feels longer but not significantly wider- still uncomfortable. Regret buying the second pair, especially given the price. Wouldn’t buy again, or recommend for a foot medium width or wider.

Wow, these really are snug around the instep area! Very cute boot, lovely profile with the hint of a heel look, look awesome with tight pants or skirts. And the length was perfect -- I am a 9 and always wear a 39 in Danskos and length-wise these were right on, with the perfect amount of heel slip for clogs. But these pretty shoes were way too snug for comfort, even with super thin socks, and I have a fairly low instep and very medium width feet. In fact, I agree with those who had trouble getting them on, though I think that would have loosened up in time and a shoehorn helped for now. But I compared these with a different style of Dansko booties I have which I can wear socks with, and these just didn't do it, comfort wise. A larger size would have been too long - they were simply too snug across the toes and instep.

This is my second pair of the Dansko Maria. Black the first time and now the taupe milled nubuck. I was very surprised that what I received does not match the pic on my computer monitor. The pic looked greyish; my shoes are a medium taupe with olive undertones. Not to worry, I love the color!! Fit right out of the box and very comfy over a few hours wear. Would love Dansko to offer more colors!

These shoes are my everyday go-to bootie. I've been wearing them for 4+ years and get at least one new pair a year. They are as comfortable as dansko professionals, but are so much more stylish with a swedish clog vibe. The only flaw in these shoes is the leather. I wear these 3 seasons a year and they would be so much better if they came in one of the waterproof leathers like the waterproof pull up leather Dansko XP 2.0s. Even a smoother leather like the cabrio would be easier to clean. The nubuck on these get scuffed pretty easily and mud and salt stains don't come out easily.

These boots are the most comfortable I’ve ever owned! I can walk miles and my feet don’t feel it. My only minor complaint is they look slightly clunky, but that’s a worthwhile sacrifice for feeling like my feet are on pillows.

I was hoping to love these as a more fashionable but just as comfy alternative to my Dansko clogs but even with ordering a size up from my usual size (normally a 40 in clogs-went with 41 for this shoe and the Dansko Shirley after the 40 Shirley was too tight) the Maria is just too narrow for my feet. I do have a bunion and a wider toe box but the 40's normally do the trick. Note: The 40 in the Shirley was a bit too tight-and thanks to Zappos, I ordered the 41 and the next day I was happy as a clam in the 41. I thought it would be the same with this shoe but not so. I sadly had to return the 41 as even if they stretched a bit, I could tell the shape or cut or style or something was just different enough from the clog and Shirley that it was not going to work this time. If you have a slightly narrower foot-give it a GO. I am disappointed but still have my Shirley's so 1 out of 2 isn't bad! Thanks Zappos!

These are real cute booties. I loved that they didn’t make my size 10, narrow feet look huge! However, I have skinny ankles & legs and there was too much of a gap in the shoe opening. Unlike other reviews, I had no problem getting these booties on. The Medium width was just too big for my AA feet.

I had stress fractures for the last two summers, had a boot on for 4 months and now have plantar fasciitis. I have feet that are still healing. Anyone with plantar fasciitis knows the impossible feat of finding comfortable remotely stylish shoes. I started off wearing Dansko’s Brenna clogs which got me through the summer/fall, but now that it’s colder out I had to find a boot. My first time wearing these my feet felt worse and I was hesitant, but gave them a second chance and once they were broken in my feet were very happy. Even more comfortable than my sneakers with insoles. I live in Brooklyn and work in NYC and I walk EVERYWHERE. I average 3-7 miles a day. These are really more comfortable than any sneaker I’ve owned and a lot cuter. I’m waiting for the taupe to come back in stock since I can’t wear anything else. If you have plantar fasciitis these are a must have.

I love these shoes. I did read a review that said dansko either fit or they don’t. If they’re not immediately comfortable, don’t bother trying to stretch the shoe/fit your foot.. and I have to agree with that! I have these in black and really wanted a nude pair - but these definitely had a green under hue that I just couldn’t get over. I ended up returning this pair - solely because I didn’t love the color. Otherwise I love this shoe.
