I absolutely love this shoe. Firstly, regarding size - this fit my foot exactly how I would want a Birk to fit. That being said, I have a wider foot and I expect Birks to be roomy in the toe and heel cup area. You need room for your foot to expand and "grip/move around" when you walk. This unisex shoe fits the bill for my foot size/shape. I initially ordered a 39 (I am more of a 8.5-9 foot and decided to go down in size based off the reviews that the shoe ran large) but then returned it for a 40 (9-9.5) which is perfect. I'm having more trouble with the Gizeh which doesn't want to fit my foot correctly. I started with a 39 which was way to short and narrow, then a 40 which was a tad too short and slightly narrow and now I'm waiting for a 41 to come. So if you are basing your sizing off the way your Gizeh fits then I would size down. Secondly, this shoe has great styling and is on-trend with the black and white theme. This shoes can be paired with everything. I have paired it with Saturday casual outfits, have worn them to work with more professional looks, and dressed them up with a black jersey dress. I haven't experienced the tops of my feet being rubbed as some of the other reviewers have noted. Great shoe!

Well worth it! My feet love these things. They are extremely comfortable and the quality is spot on.

Runs big. I have flat feet and I normally wear a EU 37, but had to get a EU36 as they run big. They looked like I had boats on my feet! I normally wear a US 6.5. Pretty comfy so far and will only get better as I break them in.

Comfortable & true to overall size but if you have a wide foot (and don't usually take a regular v narrow shoe), order the narrow as the "regular" ends up being too wide.

These Birkenstocks are gorgeous. They look modern and upscale! Love the black and white look. People stop me to tell me they are great and to ask about them. Watch the sizing! Zappos sizing is not complete. I usually wear an 8. And Zappos sizing chart converts that to a 39. The better fit is the 38. The 39 are only okay if I wanted to wear them with heavy socks.

I love these! I have never owned a pair of Birkenstocks, and after hearing how much my boyfriend loves them, I had to get a pair of my own! They are super cute and very comfortable.

This is my first pair of Birks, and so far, I really like them. Some of the reviews cited a long break-in period, but that wasn't the case for me at all. I have wide feet, and I usually buy a 9.5 or 10, but I got the 40 in these, and it seemed too long. The 39 is great and matches the fit guide Birkenstock has on their website. The leather is a little rough on the top of my foot, but I'm expecting it to soften up. In terms of style, I guess I'm still not sure. I think they have that clunky ugly-cute thing going on, but I could just be deluding myself because I'm so tired of my feet hurting. I walk a lot, and these feel like they will be sturdy enough to last a few summers, which is way better than my last few pairs of (equally expensive) go-to sandals.

I have the Arizona Sport Sandals in red that I got on another website and thought these would be the same fit, but they are not. They are wider and not as soft. The Arizona Sport fit me perfectly, but these had to be returned.

Loved this style from the moment I saw them. Decided to purchase from here given the customer service and ease. I just don't understand why Birkenstock doesn't punch more holes for the latch. I always fear the leather will stretch and I'll have to manually punch additional holes for a snug fit. But beyond that I love these sandals.

I had these shoes on for 5 minutes when they started rubbing blisters onto the tops of my feet as well as the tops of my toes. The straps felt like sandpaper against my foot.
