I'm used to the Arizona in a regular width and the soft footbed. The footbed in this platform shoe was narrower, very hard, and didn't bend because of the platform. Loved the looked, but as a longtime Birkenstock wearer, I found this platform shoe to be very uncomfortable. I also felt like Frankenstein walking in this shoe. I bought the same Rose Gold strap shoe in the regular Arizona with the soft footbed and I'm much happier with that shoe.

These are my first pair of Birkenstock sandals. They are more comfortable than I ever thought they would be. I have flat feet and arthritis in my knees and I find these platform sandals to be supportive and shock absorbing plus pretty in pink!

I am soooo TIRED of Birkenstock (& papillio versions) never doing the regular width anymore for anything that's cute or different...those are the ones I want to buy instead of the standard hippy ones. I've said it so many tines to zappo employees, but doesn't make a diff. Its always narrow. Which is useless! Narrow IS narrow regardless of what the description says. Maybe if Zappos said something to Birkenstock it would make a difference. I would buy so many more Birks if they did!! i know im not alone with this. Stupid policy!

I love this sandal! The color is almost like rose gold. The fit is not like regular Birkenstock’s, I am a true 36 and had to return for a 37. This will be my go to summer sandal this year ?

Wow! I'm always excited to see new and fun sandal styles from Birkenstock and am particularly fond of their Papillio collection which are designed specifically for a woman's foot. Papillio means butterfly in French - the word conjures up buoyancy, lightness and color and that's exactly what these sandals feel like on my feet. I've bought the pink patent and probably will scoop up the black patent too. Summer, here I come!

Saw these on a fashion Pinterest & was thrilled Zappos had them. They are comfy as you'd expect Birkies to be but not good walking shoes. They are great for any time you won't be doing much walking. Out to a show, for a meal or for visiting or a party. The soul doesn't flex much so comfy for standing but not for too much walking. I still love them.

These felt wide. I wanted to tighten the buckle but either the buckle was solely decorative or defective. Whichever it was, it was nonfunctional.

Review Update 2/24/21 I still love these sandals and I now wear them with socks around the house instead of slippers because of the ease and good support. I have learned a lot about Birkenstock/Papillio Arizona since I purchased these. I wear a women’s US 10.5 wide, which is practically impossible to find. So I typically purchase a 11 regular. I honestly didn’t realize that these sandals were narrow because I know I have wide feet and they fit well. Well since purchasing and leasing of COVID restrictions I’ve tried on the original Birkenstock Arizona and I realized the difference. Additionally, the platform is more shock absorbent and better for my knees. I hope that Birkenstock/Papillio will start to offers all their shoes in wide and narrow. Perhaps we should all start a writing campaign for all shoes to be available in wide and narrow and for more platform styles! Everyone deserves a chance to own these great shoes and have happy feet. So, pretty please Birkenstock! ?????? Danke schön.

I love these! The make my plantar fasciitis feel non existent. And they're cute! The platform adds a lil style and height, and I really like how they feel! Would recommend!

I absolutely love these! I have them in silver as well and they are comfortable and very cute. I love that they are platforms because it gives me a little more height being that I’m very short. The only problem was that I had to exchange them because my first pair came scratched up. The shiny leather is prone to being easily scratched but I like them anyway.

I normally wear a 6-1/2 in shoes and Birks in 37 always fits perfectly; these are no exception. The metallic gold color is gorgeous. I've walked from Back Bay to South Station in these while pushing my 3 year old in a stroller and they were great! Yes, they're a little heavier and stiffer than other Birks b/c of the platform but to me, fashion is pain.

If either this style, or the platform exquisite, came in a regular width, I would have kept it.

I had to send two pairs of these back. I love them. I love the color and I love the platform at fit. I have three pairs of Birkenstocks and this would have been my fourth, and my first Arizona style. The problem is that the silver (and I saw the gold in a store that had the same issue) is very easily scratched, so both pairs came in the box already scratched and scuffed. I sent the first back and received a second with the same issue. I was willing to concede they'd scratch from me wearing them but wanted a pristine pair to start. I hope Birkenstock tries again on these with better silver material that won't be so easily scratched. I wish more styles came in platform!

So incredibly disappointed in Birkenstock. This shoe is cute and the footbed feels (mostly) the same as a regular Birkenstock Arizona. However, the inside of the straps have a nubuck or felt-like lining that had strings hanging off it like it wasn't cut properly, on both shoes. And whatever the material is, it is rubbing off on everything (so fraying away from the shoes which explains the strings). If they look like this out of the box, I cannot imagine how they'll look after a little wear. At the Birks price point, this material and quality control issue is totally unacceptable. I will be returning and am not willing to try another pair, because it seems like the material itself is the issue. What a waste of money.

Great sandal and style! The sizing is the same as any other birkenstock. Buy your normal size, adjust the straps, and break them in for a day.

These are so beautiful. I love the extra height, they are a little more classy than your average Birkenstock. The gold is so fun and fancy. They take a little wearing to break in to their true comfort level, they feel very stiff for the first few wears.

The sizing is pretty accurate: these are narrow as stated, but that is where the positives stop. They are hard as rocks and not original Birkenstock quality. I have another pair of Papillos, also not of original Birkenstock quality, but they are a really cute style. These are not attractive shoes. That might be ok if they were really comfortable, but they are actually less comfortable than many of my heels. Going back without question.

These are one of the worst purchases I’ve made. So small and ill fitting that I have wounds all over both feet. This was after wearing them around with socks the day before. I never expected these to be so difficult to wear.

These are so uncomfortable. I love Birkenstock, but this leather is so stiff it cuts my feet.

They are stiff at first; you need to break them in (which I suspect is normal for most Birkenstock’s), but after a day of wearing them they felt great. Style is beautiful, the platform is a nice touch. I have wide/thick feet, so the ability to adjust the buckle to fit my size was a true bonus.

I have worn Birkenstock regular and soft foot bead. The Papillio fit true to size. I took my usual size 37/7 US. I love the higher platform. To date the Papillio is the most flattering on the foot and the most comfortable. Comfortable out of the box and break in period needed!

I absolutely love this updated style of the classic Birkenstock! I have worn Birkenstocks for over twenty years. They are consistently comfortable, supportive, and help my back to align correctly. I had often lamented that Birkenstocks, being Birkenstocks, are so flat. But the Arizona Platform has changed that -- without sacrificing the comfort and support I have come to expect from Birkenstocks. I have the black patent; I wish there were more colors! I was hesitant to order "narrow" Birkenstocks (filled in foot), as I have always worn "regular" Birks (outlined foot). The "narrow" on these -- the only width available -- fits perfectly, and the added height of the platform gives them just a bit of a dressier edge. These get my highest recommendation for Birkenstock fans.

I love these sandals! I was in Europe last summer and saw many versions of this shoe. While on a plane from London to Paris I saw a woman wearing exactly this shoe in white patent. And they were everywhere in Rome, The platform totally makes the shoe in terms of style/edge - as does the patent. It does run a whole size larger (as was the case with many of the shoes I tried on in Italy) so size down. I normally wear a size 9 - EU 40 but bought a 39 and it was perfect. I had to adjust the straps in one notch on the wide but there was still room to adjust them more if needed (my feet are average width). I will totally buy another pair and am bummed that I already have the regular Gizeh.

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks. My normal size is 6.5-7 and the size 37 fit perfectly. I have a bit of a narrow foot but not a problem at all since I could tighten the buckles. Overall I really like the style of the platform and find them really comfortable. For me there is no problem walking in them, I find them comfortable and stylish!

Horrible!! The most uncomfortable shoe ever! This is my first pair of Birkenstock, and I was very disappointed with the comfort of these! My feet hurt when I walk in them. Would never purchase again!
