BEFORE YOU BUY A HALF SIZE UP, READ THIS! The sizing on Blundstones is crazy. I learned this after my boyfriend got me this pair for Christmas. He ordered half a size up from my normal size because so many reviews say they run small. I am usually a women's size 7, so he ordered an AU 4.5, which is supposedly the US equivalent of a 7.5. They felt too small on me - my left foot is slightly larger than my right, and my left big toe bumped into the front of the shoe. It seemed crazy to swap them for a AU5/ US 8 - I occasionally take a 7.5, but I NEVER wear a size 8. I found a store in my town that sells Blundstones, so I went in to try them on in person. There was a very experienced sales person there who I explained my predicament to. She told me that Blundstone is odd- their half sizes are NOT any longer, they are just wider. So the 7.5 is no longer than the 7, only wider. I have a relatively narrow foot, so the extra width meant that my foot wasn't being held as snugly across the instep, so my foot could slide forward and bump into the front of the toe. She gave me a size AU4/US7 to try- they fit! So-- -even though the 7.5 felt too small, I actually needed a SMALLER size. I should note that she swapped the insoles the Blundstones come with for Oboz (similar to Superfeet) when I tried them on. If anything, they make for a tighter fit, and the 7 felt quiiiiite snug on the top of my foot even with thin socks. She stressed that they will absolutely stretch and that buying a larger size would be a mistake because pretty soon I'd be swimming in them. If they had this style and color in stock I would have bought the shoes from that store- they definitely deserved my money with all the great advice I got. I exchanged them for a AU4/US7 on Zappos, put in the Oboz insole (nice and squishy too!), and am so pleased I followed her advice. The first day of wearing them they were almost uncomfortably tight, but by the end of the second day they were far more comfy, and are getting more comfortable by the day. Long story short - they SHOULD be tight when you first get them, tight enough to hold your foot in place and keep it from sliding around. At first, wear them with thin socks only. Soon they will stretch and you will be able to wear thicker socks. Hope this helps!

You know what you are getting into with Blundstones. The Australian cowboy boots don't disappoint. They are comfortable and fit for purpose - whether it's working outside or going out they look great and get the job done. I wear while working in the garage or doing yard work or I can throw on some nice designer jeans and a nice top and hit the city. All in all a great buy.

I bought the BL1316 (red sole/red elastic at ankle) just over a year ago, and they still look and feel like new, so there was no reason to buy another pair, but these green ones have been calling to me... I always wanted Blunnies when I was in my twenties, but they were too pricey for me then. Now that I am older, I realize what a wonderful bargain they are! Both pairs I own are beautiful, comfortable for standing/walking all day long, and so incredibly durable. They will last for many years, as other reviewers have already mentioned. The price is incredibly reasonable for the quality of this boot and the years of service I am anticipating receiving from it.

I loved my first pair of Blundstones, I had the Original 500, they were comfortable and good looking. I got these 1402 on the account of the Originals. They are not the same experience. The extra leather lining makes these boots very hot and sweaty. They DON't breath, so end up stewing my feet all day. Secondly, they didn't count for the extra lining n material, to adjust their size, they just used the 500 measurements but added more stuff to the boot. This results in a tighter fit. These are hard to Put on and Take off. One of the things I liked about The original 500 was how easy they are to slip in and take off. Not with the 1402. I have to struggle with them every morning to put them on. Taking off take a few tries too. I wore my Original 500 year round, every day. I don't think after the winter I can wear these in the spring, they are just too warm. Certainly I cann wear them in the summer. I got these thinking the extra cost will pay off in the long run for supposedly they are going to last long. Now I think the comfort Of the 500's was what I wanted and unfortunately I don't think these offer that. These are a different experience than the originals.

Ordered 519 and 1402 in Brown/OD. 1402' perfect out of box no break in period. 519s were very tight across the top of foot. 1402 has inside glove liner for more comfort. Most comfortable boot ever are the moss green suede 550 series.

Boots are a little stiff. I have not worn them outside yet. I want to make sure they fit properly. One thing I am concerned about is they slip in the heel a little. That could be a huge problem causing blisters. I will wait and see if they ease up a little. I will review again

These are my absolute favorite shoes! I wear them almost every day in fall and spring. I have found them very comfortable and supportive even during long days on my feet at work, and I trust the soles not to let me slip even while in wet conditions or during light hikes. I wasn't a fan of the color initially since it was so dark and uniform, but they have weathered beautifully with time. The leather over the arch has softened a little bit as I broke them in, which is good for my feet.

Excellent service by Zappos! Speedy delivery as always! I was worried about the fit of the Blundstone 550s. I was worried from other reviews they would be too tight or too wide, that I would not be able to get my foot in the boot easily....I ordered up a half size. I am standard 7.5/8 US women’s. I ordered the 5.5 AUS. I was super impressed they fit perfectly! Easy to put on, easy to take off, plenty of toe room, my heel does not rub the back. There will not be much of a “break-in” period for these! The leather is soft! Boots are lightweight! I’ll be excited to wear these for daily usage! I’m really loving these boots!!

I love these boots/shoes!!! I wore them this evening for the first time... So comfortable. I’m typically 61/2 or 7. After reading reviews I went with the 7 and they are perfect.

Very good quality. Seemed a half size small but I am sure will stretch a bit as they are leather. Good looking boot.

had to swap a 9.5 for a women's 10 despite never wearing a 10! I had trouble pulling them on with my high arch. Preston!!! they go on smoothly and feel great. Just took them offf from a day of Christmas Shopping so you know they are comfy.

Moving from a 9.5 to a 10 was a shock, but these boots were difficult to get on and felt snug in the 9.5. Wore the new ones all day and they felt great and a very nice fit.

These boots are awesome! I bought them for my son and he loves how easily they go on and how nice they look.

My mom absolutely loved these boots. They were a surprisingly good fit on her very narrow feet. These boots made her size 9 feet look small. Great looking boot, has a more feminine look than most Blundies.

If you don't know Blundstone, you are missing out on one of the best makers of boots/ shoes. I have been a big fan of their 500 series boots. Now if you are already a fan of the 500, the Super 550 are even better; better built, double stitched and sturdier. They seem to have tried to improve the out soles. They are kind of pricey but worth every penny. These boots last a long time and look good with almost every pair of pants. The only issue I had was the sizing. I am exact men's 9.5 with the 500 series. However with 550s they seemed a little tight, so I had changed them for a size 10. I suppose the extra leather lining makes them a tad tight. But the people at Zappos were extremely helpful and shipped me another pair the same day. Excellent service by Zappos, and I am not a type of customer thats easily content with online stores.

Awesome boots! Comfortable and no break in period required. Had to return original pair to go a size up and Zappos shipped the new pair out before receiving the returned pair....with the same overnight shipping I paid extra for. Not many companies do that. Thoroughly impressed with both the boots and Zappos! I've never been disappointed by this company.

Super comfortable. Love the style. This is my second pair. They last a very long time with heavy wear.

A very comfortable pair of boots! I wore these all over Europe and found them to be more comfortable than my sneakers...especially great on the rainy days! As for color, I like the green accents but the brown leather could pass for black. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 US and found the 8 (AUS) to work well. There are a few helpful youtube videos out there regarding Blundstone sizing.

So I have owned a lot of Blundstones. Good to see they are adding a little style. I had my last pair for 12 years. I used them regularly living San Gtancisco on rainy days. I have also used them to do landscaping and construction. The other day I hiked up Mt. Tam where I live in Marin County. I had work them one time. I was so surprised how well they did in a rigorous steep hike in all kind of terrain. Rocks, Trees, water, and up and down steep trails. All was great. Except coming down. They are not meant for hiking. My toes on the downhill were killing me. Too much room and slip. So 85% I like. 15% is just a couple of little things that irritate. Like their customer service Dept.

I like these boots but the footbed liner inside has an exaggerated lip around the heel that is very uncomfortable. The boot is great with a different liner.

I ordered 3 pair of these boots after my Montana friends highly recommended them. I tried them all on and had a heck of a time getting them on my normal size 8 feet ( size 5 Australian). I returned them, ordered 2 more pair thinking there must be something wrong with the first three. Nope - I had the same problem! It was a pain to get them on and a bigger pain to get them off! The just aren't the boot for me. My friends can't believe it as they rave about these boots.

The boots fit well, but I'm returning them because the leather looked black, not brown, as the description states or as shown in the picture. Maybe I just got a rogue pair... That's why I gave it 3 stars

The shoe is lovely, but I can't get either one of them on.

After wearing these 1402s for two months I must I am very disappointed. What's upsets me the most is that I spent a good penny on these boots, about $180, and they are by far the most uncomfortable pair of boots I have ever worn. Perhaps it's my mistake to have taken a chance on a new model of boots by Blundstones. I had a decent experience with the 500s, but these are nothing like the originals. These boots do not breath, period. They are extremely and uncomfortably hot. If you wear your boots for long periods of time, let's say 8 hours a day, be ready for your feet to get literally cooked in these boots. They are tight and very stiff. I have given them a few months to break them in, I wore them every day. And yet, they are hard to put on and impossible to take off. After a few week they start to to stink as they do not breath what so ever. I would have felt more comfortable in a pair of rubber boots. I have been walking in a puddle of water every day! I could ah e bought 2 pairs of boots for the money I paid for these, a huge loss.i wished I had gone with a different brand. I don't care how well stitched boots are, if they are not comfortable they are worthless. Stay away, spend your money on something else.
