My son really wanted to like these, but the fit is all wrong. He wears a 5 XW New Balance shoe, and we initially purchased these Merrells in size 5 W. They were way too long and his foot slid around in the shoe. Since the width was good, but the length was long, I exchanged for a size 4 W. Still too big and his foot still slid inside the shoe! I hate to return them, as we needed summer sandals that were active-kid-friendly, but the fit is just too long in this style. I do applaud Merrell for attempting to make a kids' wide shoe. I hope that more companies realize that there are a fair number of us out here with children with wide feet and we always have to buy New Balance, because no other company makes Big Kid shoes in sizes wide and extra wide.

Great closed toe sandal for boys. Material is light and waterproof. Purchased for both my 4 yr old and 9 yr old for a trip to Disney. No blisters, no complaints. They both loved them. Highly recommended.

The wide in this shoe was excellent for my son who normally wears XW in Sketchers and Stride Rite. He usually wears a wide in New Balance. This is a solid, high quality sandal, perfect for running, climbing trees, etc. It is exactly what we were looking for as we head into summer. Be aware that these run very large. For a kid who wears a 4XW normally in other brands, a 3W in this shoe was the right size. We kept the 4W anyway so we are ready for the next size up. I wish they made these in my size!

The quality of the shoe was good. But I had to return it twice because it ran almost 2 sizes too large. My son normally wears a size 5.5 so I ordered the size 6 thinking he could just grow into the difference but it was way too big. I exchanged for a size 5, but that was still too big so I exchanged a second time and we finally settled on the size 4. Thankfully Zappos has an amazing return/exchange policy and the all of the exchanges took less than a week.

I ordered these for my son who has somewhat wide feet although he can wear regular shoes in some brands. These were marketed as wide but definitely were not, had to send them back.

My sons is EXTREMELY picky about his shoes and he has a hard foot to fit. It's extremely wide. There are very few brands that offer a wide width. After countless pairs of New Balance that start to fall apart within 2 weeks, I decided to check out Merrells. There is NO going back for us! His tennis shoes have lasted over 5 months now with no holes and no part of them falling apart. These sandals look built to last and super solid. They do run large, so order a size down. You won't be disappointed!

I am a woman and was looking for some sturdy sandals that covered my whole foot and provided a firm sole. I decided to check out Big Kids sandals and came across these sandals. I converted my women's size to a big kids size 6 and took a chance. They fit great and are very comfortable. They are casual and go with everything. They look good enough to even wear to work. They look sporty which is okay in my office. While there is no arch support the sole of the sandal is firm and not flimsy. I have plantar fasciitis and need a firm sole. I have shoe inserts for the plantar fasciitis that help provide arch support and address the plantar fasciitis. Great sandals that meet my needs for a summer shoe at a lower price point.

Purchased for my 12 year old son. He finds them comfortable and although have only had them for 2 weeks, they have held up well under moderate hiking & in water use. A quick rinse and they look great again. Seem true to size.

This is my second pair of these sandals. I normally where a woman's size 7.5 and so I got the big kids size 4. I have wide feet and these fit well. I wear them for canoeing, water aerobics, beach, river, and general walking. Great sandals.

These got my very fussy kid with high arches and wide feet through an entire summer including international travel and lots of beach and walking time. Looking for a bigger size for this summer. Love these.

After many years of buying Keens for my super active boy, I tried these and he's totally hooked! They seem just as tough yet a little lighter than Keens, and way less stinky! We're all set for our second summer of Merrell! They seem to run a little big, but for growing kids that's not a big deal.

Loved these shoes for my boys. Wore them to Disney and they didn't have blisters even the first day. They ran huge though. We had to downsize twice to get the right size.

sizing runs long, possible 2 sizes... Ordered a Wide but still extremely narrow

Was able to strap these to my busy 8 year old on a week long trip to Hawaii. The sandals were worn daily with no complaints & no breakage. Amazing really.

Our son has worn these type/brand shoes for years and these are his last big kid pair. He will need mens shoes next! These fit well. They are about the same as a women’s size 8.
