So far so good. Very comfortable with no PF foot pain.

I have a multitude of foot problems: plantar fasciitis, bunions, second toe slightly longer than big toe AND in the last 10 years I've lost cushion "fat pad atrophy". New Balance had been the only brand of sport shoe that my feet are happy with. Unfortunatly, only the most expensive model fits my needs. Prior to the 1540, I wore the 1123 for many years---I was sad to see it go. I must always replace the insole that comes with these, with a Spenco flat/cushioned insole and then lay my orthotic on top.

Since my surgery this is just what I need. It has a good wide fit with a deep toe box.

I've never had this style shoe before but I love the stability it provides. Thank you NB

My sports medicine doctor said that this was one of two shoes for me. I have metatarsalgia so I need a stiff shoe with a toe rocker. I bought this shoe in the navy color with the pink trim. It looked the most like a runner's shoe to me of the three choices. I do have a regular foot width, but had to buy this one in a D because the standard width irritated and caused pain in the ball of my foot. I would recommend this shoe if you are bearing all of your weight on the middle of the ball of your foot. Hooray for New Balance, the shoe string is 53 inches and long enough to actually tie in a bow. The other shoe the doctor recommended is 1540, but it looks like a hospital shoe.

These shoes rubbed my left big toe and I am returning. If not for that they are almost as comfortable as my go-to NB 990v4. Very good support and stability. I have arthritis and plantar fasciitis and use my own orthotics. I have a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable.

I went into the wide shoe store near me prepared to purchase the comfortable white but if It new balance shoes I haves worn for 25 years . I wanted color I wear a 12 4e women's with orthodic and trust me colors were white taupe ugh black and brown . I was delighted to find 3 color combos I got Both the dark blue fucia and the grey and Aqua! I was in tears as I felt like a girl finally . N ow for fit not as deep as previous so heel pulls up a bit . The insoles already have a rub hole inside by big toe My orthotic covers most of it but really need a better insole material . The show has rough edges at seams by little toes that area needs attention . They feel pretty good overall please fix the above New Balance and bring on even more colors please . Happy to wear in nursing field.

Love the feel and look of sneakers. They give my problem feet much needed support. One problem, the laces are too short.

Sturdy & nice looking shoe. I overpronate & the inside of this shoe looks adequate to help with this issue - although I had to add my own arch support.

I have owned many pairs of New Balance shoes over the years and I find the 1540 line to be an exceptional shoe especially if you have any foot problems.

I happen to be allergic to the mesh material in shoes and this particular one I found itchy for me. It was a great looking shoe but not for me.

Frankly I am keeping these shoes because out of a $644 order they were the only pair that were not ugly! The style of every other pair was horrible, 5, 8, even 10 different, incompatible colors on 1 shoe!
The left heel slips but I guess I'll have to consult with Dr. Scholl to make these fit.Not
something I want to do for $150 shoes.

My doctor recommended the 1540 years ago after hurting my heel running and playing tennis. I have bought other styles and brands but no other shoe keeps my heel pain free like the 1540. My only complaint is that the available colors are very unappealing. PLEASE redesign and add pretty colors!

I was very surprised that New Balance has removed shoes from their line. I was told this shoe replaced the 1500 series. I have been wearing NB shoes for years. These are good shoes, are light weight, but wish the shoe fit more like the old 1500 series shoe I had. These are a great buy and I give it a 4 star rating - I walk about 8 miles a day just at work!

This shoe is great for comfort and stability but I will not wear white as it gets dirty too easily and the mint green does not match any other article of clothing I own. NB, please make this shoe in darker gray with dark pink accents and I promise to buy them. I passed them up yesterday because I just cannot do the green again, and the white and light gray colors of the mesh look dirty within a short time when I wear these all day every day.

I like1540V2. The toe is a smidge narrower. I feel it will stretch a bit. In a week it is less noticeable. The heel back is lower,my heel stays in the shoe.I do wish they hadn't changed the 587. I was very disappointed the discount did not apply after $173.00.

I have had these for 5 weeks now.. I wear a 4e and have to have a rollbar.. I work on cement floors 10+ hours a day and with a bad back and so on I have to have the right shoe. I have been wearing B shoes for 13 years now and the last few have been a struggle to find a quality shoe in my size with the rollbar from NB a few pairs only lasted about 8 weeks and at these prices thats nuts.. I think this shoe will finally fix the problem! Thank u NB I had almost given up hope!

I have always had wide feet. I went from store to store asking if they had any 9.5 4E shoes and the answer was generally no. Thank you New Balance for having shoes that fit me. Thank you for having one pair that is not just black or white. I have given up on stylish shoes, I just want ones that fit. I will continue to buy NB for the rest of my life.

I always knew my feet were wide but I only realized a few years ago that I really should have been wearing a 7 2E. Prior to that, I had worn 8.5/9 regular width, depending on how narrow the shoe was. I also have flat arches, and these shoes provide decent support. I walk a lot because I live in NY.
I really wish you guys would make these shoes in black. Although you have the postal shoe and another style in black, they don't give enough support and don't fit me as well. I would love it if you could even customize as I have bought tons of other shoes from New Balance, but I can't wear the other styles anymore because my feet are actually in more pain. Please make this in more colors! Even if it's just black.

Was told by New Balance that this model is the new version of my previous model shoes but the toebox is narrower and shape more oval than rounded.

I have foot problems and this shoe was rated great for over pronation and metatarsal support. I wear a 9 W on most shoes. This shoe fit perfectly. The metatarsal ball of foot cushioning is just not that great. Brooks Ariel is much better. They definitely keep my pronation problem in check and my orthotics fit just fine.

The width of this shoe is great! I'm glad this is not white. I wish it had a thicker insole.

I am looking for a shoe with stability and a cushioned forefoot. The NB 1540 felt true to size but a little tight across the toes. The toebox was roomy and the stability factor was there but, unfortunately, the cushion factor was not there.
