I just do not get it. I have had the Black Rykas for several years. I am in the pool with heavy use at least four times a week. They were starting to wear so I thought - why not try a new color, etc. Well, when I compare the two it seems like they have the same exact sole. But these are so slippery especially on any area of the pool bottom that has tile. Good thing I am in the water or I would break my neck. So I am not sure what is up with that. My old ones were not like that in the beginning. Please, Ryka, why can you noy get that people like the toggle but who needs an extra 1½' of shoelace (literally) to deal with. Do you tie it? Do you try to tuck it in? Who needs it? So I am disappointed. I will probably just keep wearing them for awhile but I just cannot understand why Ryka cannot at least get the shoelace problem resolved.

This is a very nice shoe. However, all my previous water shoes have had a loop style tie. These have very LONG shoe strings that refuse to stay tied. Even when I tie a double bow, I am tripping when I leave the pool. I generally wear Ryka water shoes. I have no idea why they have changed from the safe design of previous shoes.

I am a new-be to water exercise. I started out not wearing any foot support but realized I needed it. Everyone recommended Ryka as the best. So I ordered the Hydro Sport. I ordered my regular size as I order half a size larger for running shoes. I have been blessed with narrow feet. The shoes are very comfortable and fit well. I have worn them four times for class and keep trying to figure out the best way to handle the extra laces. I always double knot them and try to put the extra under the the tightened laces toward the front. However, they almost always come apart during class. I got to compare them to another student's Ryka shoes and those shoes were laced with a bungee type cord with a toggle. There were no extra laces as the bungee attached to the shoe. I wonder why that design was not used for these shoes because they are fabulous in every other way!

Really like this shoe. I have a fallen a arch and pronation issues, and narrow feet. I replaced the laces with elastic ones. Perfect fit and good arch support. Happy feet.

I usually wear a 9 in Mizuno but needed an 8.5 in these. I wore them for water aerobics class and my feet felt great. I highly recommend!

It didn’t work for me. I have wide feet and they felt narrower. Then I like. Also were a little too short.

I wear a size 7.5 or 8. I ordered these in an 8. I have not worn socks with them. With all the rain we've had I've gotten a lot of use out of these- the rain water drains through. I find them to be very comfortable.

Some reviews mention that they are slippery. As a long-time aquacise instructor who’s worn this brand for nearly 20 years, I can tell you that after a few times in the pool, they will lose that slippery feel. Not sure if there is a coating or what but they will get better.
Rinse them after you leave the pool and they will last twice as long.
I agree about the laces. Also, the toggles wear out before the shoes. Consider adding or selling a spare pair.
Thanks Ryka.

Wore these to Schlitterbahn and they held up great! They drain amazingly well and are super comfy. I didn't have trouble with the laces, just double tied them and they were fine. They dried completely overnight in my hotel room. I was shocked!

These are the best shoes for water workouts. As for other reviews complaining about the laces, try this: adjust the laces, slide the toggle in place. Do not tie a bow. Instead, double the laces over, bringing the ends of the laces toward the toggle so each end of the lace makes a long loop. Stick your finger inside the loop and twist around about three times. Remove finger, and thread the twisted, doubled over laces through your laces that cross cross the top of your foot. (Or at least 2 "x" laces toward your toes. I do this every day that I teach. 60 min classes, higher intensity and I have never had a problem. Back to the shoes. I think they shrink a little as they age. Go up a half size. Order the size that you would get if you were buying Nikes. They will last longer if you rinse them after use. Wear them in the shower, rinse or run through washing machine and air dry.

Bought these for my wife, she LOVES them wants another pair. Every time she puts them on she says they are the most comfortable sneakers she has ever worn. She wears them when we go for walks, to the beach and on vacation. Did I mention she loves these?

I love my Ryka hydro sport water shoes. They are the only brand I will wear for water aerobics. This is the fourth pair I have owned. They are very true to fit and extremely comfortable. They also have good traction on slippery surfaces and are very durable.

I never thought I'd wear water shoes in a swimming pool, but an aqua aerobics friend lent me her second pair to try out and I ordered my own that day. I love them!

I love these shoes and am so happy I found them. I have RA and can not walk barefoot and do water aerobics so definitely need something. This shoe has more support than any water shoe I've had. It is truly like wearing a sneaker but lightweight and accommodates my wide foot.

This is my 4th pair of Ryka hydro sport water shoes! I LOVE them. I go to my water aerobics class every day. These shoes provide great support, and are sooo comfortable! Saved my back, my hips and my feet! If you have problems with pain, water aerobics is a great way to get stronger but do not do it without these shoes!!!! I have a different pair of shoes for different bathing suits.
