Love these boots! I can't ever fit into tall boots because the shafts are always too small. I ordered quite a few pairs that were slated "wide calf" and the shafts were all too big. I read that these run smaller and I am glad I ordered them because they fit perfectly! It was hard to zip them up the first time but after wearing them the first time, they fit like a glove & the zipper glides right up. I wear a size 11 and my calf measures 16".

Love these boots! They are so stylish and super cute. Exactly what I was looking for, and the quality is fantastic. They are my 3rd pair of boots ordered from Zappos, trying to find the right ones/fit. I have a large foot and the previous pairs were way too narrow even when ordered in a wide. The only problem I have is the not so wide "wide" calf. I ordered them in a size 11 Wide and the boot portion fits great, the calf part is really snug. I measured mine at 16 3/4" shaft circumference and 17 1/2" tall from the sole to top of boot. The width of the sole (measured from the bottom of the boot) is just over 4 Wide. I am hoping the shaft will stretch a bit because they are very snug. Overall I am very happy with this purchase, and with the customer service of Zappos.

Very cute boots. They fit well, but are a bit loose in the ankle area. Very comfortable and good for all day use. I wear them to work, and I am a teacher so I'm on my feet all day. Be aware that the leather scrapes easily so it needs to be prepared with boot oil or something like that.

Love these boots. Comfie and very stylish. These didn't really seem wide calf as described - more normal. I'm thinking about ordering another pair.

Love these boots. I loved them so much, I ordered another pair in black. Would highly recommend. Very high quality for the low price point. Looks great with jeans, skirts, leggings, etc. I get compliments on these every time I wear them. Wide calf is not really a true wide calf I think, but if you're like me and regular width calf is a little tight, and you just would like a little extra room, these are for you. Just gorgeous leather. Nice and thick, distressed but not overly so. Leather is true oiled leather, not some spray on finish to make it look so, like in 99% of these other boots. Just love. I have 2 pairs - different colors. I may buy more, I like them that much.

Very high quality beautiful boots. I have seen boots of this quality in high end stores costing hundreds more. Very surprised Fitzwell has these thick leather high quality boots. I am a shoe queen and I don't need more boots, but these are so well made and beautiful leather workmanship, they are a keeper!

I ordered this boot in a size 11 Wide Calf. Let me say that this is a beautiful casual boot. I was in love the moment I opened the box. I am 5'11 with a very long calf and these boots came up just under my knee - nice and tall. Much to my dismay, I was unable to pull the zipper past the middle of my calf. I don't feel these boots are "wide calf" in any way. I typically order wide calf sizes due to the length of my calves, as the widest part of a boot shaft (meant to be for your calf) typically sits just a bit low on my calf and I need the extra room. These boots were very tight in the calf, but roomy and comfortable everywhere else. The foot bed and ankle would have been comfy even with thick winter socks, Unfortunately (and heartbroken) I will be returning them.

Love these boots. I have to agree with those who say these are not true wide-calf boots, but that works for me. I have wide feet and a bunion but not very wide calves and these fit great. I have 15" calf with size 9C foot and these leave good room for jeans to be tucked in. Super comfortable footbed and sole. Foot is plenty wide for thick socks for winter. I can wear these all day. Also love the distressed-look leather. The leather is full grain and appears to be very good quality. I got the lighter brown and am thinking about getting the black too, I like them that much.

Very comfortable, right out of the box. Wide boot bed and comfortable calf. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

If you have a moderately wide calf of 15 inches or so, run, do not walk to these boots. I misread the dimensions so there was no way they would fit me, but they are gorgeous. Sad to send them back.

This is a great rugged boot.It is has a fine, Mexican cowboy boot feel.The cognac brown is a rich, burnished shade. Sadly the calf is not quite wide enough to fit my muscular calf (16 3/4 inches). I was hoping the top gusset would get me there. I went with with the shorter Fitzwell Monoco instead. Love it! Excellent purchase!

Love these. Size as described. Wide footbed and wide calf. But not too wide. Just enough to tuck in jeans. Just ordered the black. I usually go up a shoe size in boots but did not need to with this boot.

These boots are my favorite. They are so easy to put on. I usually have a hard time finding boots that fit around my bigger calf but these fit perfectly. I bought the 8.5 because that is what size I wear, and they fit perfectly. The leather is durable, and the sole is great for Colorado living. In love!!

I ordered these in Cognac, because I love the rich and a bit more rugged look that they have, but sadly they would not zip all the way up in the calfs. The information said that they were 16" circumference, but that was in the 8½W, and I ordered the 9M width. I do not have wide feet, just wide calfs. Anyway, I will have to send them back. But they are lovely looking boots in real leather with a sturdy construction. I am sad that they cannot be mine.

The style is great, but they are very tall and hit my thighs when I sit. Also, the rear zippers rub against my heels when I walk.

I loved these boots, I really did. The style is fabulous, the foot fit perfectly, the leather was gorgeous, but the wide calf just isn't wide enough. I don't even have outrageously big calves, either. I would need at least another inch around the calf for these to work. It's really too bad, because I love them.

These boots are beautiful and a great value. Unfortunately even in the wide calf I can't get them zipped up with a bare leg and I'm not a big girl.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE the style of this boot BUT...they do not fit my ginormous muscle calves. I measure my calf to be 16" and the shaft on these is labeled as 17"- if it was, it may have fit. So I think these would fit a 15" calf. I tried for 10 minutes in various positions and bare-legged to make these fit. I'm crushed. As a big calf girl with WIDE width feet as well, I'm so limited in stylish tall boots, that are made of real leather. Bummer.

I have a 16" calf and couldn't get these zipped up. Very sad because the style and quality appear great. Unfortunately need to send them back.

Although it does say wide calf, I still couldn't zip them up even with bare legs. :-/ This is a disappointment as I liked the style a lot. The leather seemed a bit stiff although appeared that they would soften with time. Unfortunately they just won't work for me.

These boots are comfortable right out of the box! I think they are cute styling. I have found that they do squeak on my offices cement floor; I do not know if it is because they are new, or if they will continue to do so. I ordered both a 7½ and 8. The 7½ came and the leathers on the shaft did not match on one of the boots. So, there may be some quality control issues with your order. The 8 looked fine and although they are roomy; they fit fine.

The calfs are too wide. They need to make boots for large size feet that have regular size calfs. Not all large feet have huge calfs. These boots are otherwise beautiful.

The color and style of these boots are nice. I measured my calves at 15 1/2 inches and I was barely able to get the zippers zipped up. So if your calves are bigger than that, don't waste your time. The footbed is wide enough for the 8 1/2 Wide size that I ordered. Just the calves could be made a little wider. I gave them 3 stars because they really aren't wide shaft boots.

These were much higher than I anticipated and the shaft circumference was almost an inch smaller than listed. I did buy an 8, so I guessed it would be slightly smaller than the description (measured from an 8.5), but not that much. The calves were too tight, but the footbed was too large, and I knew going down to a 7.5 would definitely be too small in the calf. The color was just as pictured and the leather seemed a good quality.

So disappointed that these would not fit my calf because they are really beautiful boots. I am average-sized and wear 12-14 in pants but have "muscular" calves and have always had a hard time fitting tall boots. I found a pair of Fitzwells last season that fit perfectly and was hoping that these would, too, but I couldn't even zip them up. My co-worker who is similar sized tried them on because they are so gorgeous but had the exact same issue. These are not really wide-calf, in my opinion. But they are very pretty.
