Great out of the box. Top selling points. Gore Tex, Vibram soles and not looking like giant massive stomping boots. They are very comfy and stylish. The laces are thick, strong and the quick lace system is quick and efficient. I compared them to Keen Louisville, Timberland Titan, and carhartt rugged flex. This was the most expensive out of all but felt the most comfortable and most stylish. Keenes had a very roomy toe box and looked sweet and very comfy but overkill for me as I didn't need steel toe protection; pretty good laces but for a work boot I expect something tougher. Tims were nice looking and lightweight but uncomfortable and not wide enough, the metal lace eyelet dug into my ankles: weak laces. Carhartts were the largest looking and looked like they could really take a beating but was not very stylish; also weak laces. The one thing I felt they skimped on Danners was not making the eyelets and fast hooks all metal. They are a mix of metal and hard plastic. I hope they will last.

I usually don't do reviews, but the vicious is a good boot. I'm a landscaper. I had no choice put to push this boot hard through rain, mud, gravel, trees, brush, you name it. They're light weight, rugged and comfortable. I've used them one year. The sole shows some signs of wear. I like them some much, I'm buying a 2nd pair.

Comfortable and best work shoe I have bought this far. If you need this type of shoe in your environment this is the way to go.

By far one of the best work boats I have owned if not they best. No break in period and fit true to size. I wear these on average about 12-16 hours a day and feels great all day, not fatigue or stress. I will highly recommend them.

These are the most expensive safety shoes I have ever purchased, but the are also the best I have ever purchased. I've been wearing these daily for about 2 weeks. They were comfortable from start -- no break-in required! I normally have to buy wider width safety shoes than regular shoes to get a comfortable toe box. Based on customer reviews I bought these in my regular width and was very pleased to find they fit very comfortably. I have absolutely no regrets with this purchase. For me, they are worth every dollar.

This is my second pair of these. Bought the first ones 2 years ago & wore them for work everyday. They were still comfortable but looked horrible. They got pretty shredded up.The 2nd pair are not the same. They look the same but are not.The right one makes me aware of my foot all day long. Not good. They do not stay tired very well either. Probably re-tie 3x a day.I'll look for a different brand next time. I'm not going to last 2 years in these. 2 weeks & I'm ready for different boots.

I've worked previous dock work in a large box fulfillment center walking 15+ miles per shift so i knew what to expect for foot pain the first couple of weeks. So I was very impressed after my first two shifts wearing these new Danners that I didn't experience that pain as I expected. I didn't even feel the need to take the boots off for my commute home. I've heard many good things about Danner over the years so I decided to pony up a little extra to try them. I'm very glad I did. They are worth it! I've put Timberland and Skeen boots to the same test and Danner feels far superior. I'm even surprised how well the top of toes still look new after similar wear shows on the other brands i just compared. I have quite a variety of brands of work boots that I've kept from different lines of work as i only wore them a couple of times. I'll be letting all those go now. These Danners are the best I've experienced.

The fit feels right, but the boot doesn't breathe as well as the Timberland Pros that I usually buy, feet feel a little too warm. Probably won't buy again, if Danner had the 30 day love them or return policy that Timberland has, I would return them.

Lighter and not as stiff as I was expecting. I walk on concrete and these are doing a good job absorbing the shock. Composite toe is approved to work in our MRI rooms. Good quality boot. Have recommended to coworkers.

These are superb work boots in a hiking boot style. I am on concrete 10 hours a day in a facility manufacturing water treatment equipment and rarely do my feet hurt. I have tried all the major manufacturers of work boots and these simply can't be beat for durability and comfort. Not to mention that they are waterproof with the only material that is truly waterproof. I highly recommend them to anyone.

I bought these for my husband and he absolutely loves them. They are super comfortable and his feet are dry on a fall day on a Washington construction site. He tried on a lot of boots before these and these were perfect. We bought the medium width because that is all that they had and I was nervous because he wears wide Timberland boots but he said they were the perfect width and the toebox is perfect.

I bought these for my son who loves to hike above our house where it is quite steep and rocky. He loves these. He says they are comfy, grip the rocks, and are not too heavy like his other hiking boots. Also, they are waterproof which is great cause he goes rain or shine.

After 9 months of using these boots, I have to say that they fit great, are comfortable right out the box, and don't weigh my feet down. These boots have saved my feet from falling boxes and wooden pallets. The main issues I have with the boot are the laces, insole, and outer toe area. The laces come undone fairly often, so I end up tying them in a double knot. The insole is pretty thin and provides some arch support, I ended up replacing it and now I have very little foot pain after working 10 hours. The outer toe area is prone to getting shredded easily, I had a nail from a pallet tear a chunk of leather from the toe of the boot. I ended up repairing it with some tuff toe. Overall it is a pretty solid work boot, it also doubles as a good hiking boot.

I love Danner boots and have owned many pairs, most with composite safety toes. The Vicious boots felt perfect out of the box in size and fit, however the right foot composite toe felt angled down towards the top of my foot. This caused lots of rubbing and blisters when walking. I loved the boots other then that and hated having to return them, but I had no choice. I loved the style, fit, and feel of the boots otherwise and will probably replace them with a non-composite toe version. Danner builds a great boot and have worn composite toe boots 14 plus hours a day, 7 days a week, for months doing disaster recovery. I think I just got a defective boot.

In my line of work I am really hard on a pair of work boots. I work 12 hour days on solid concrete, standing for most of the day. From the first day I wore these, I felt less impact on my knees and feet. It felt as though the floors weren't made of concrete. I did purchase insoles with more arch support for these boots, but the support out of the box is pretty superb. and The construction is sturdy and has really held up for over a year on the outside. The only CON I have for these is that after a year of hard use the shoes don't provide the support I need anymore. Maybe they just need new insoles, but for the year I used them, they had excellent support.

These shoes fit great. They are light weight and comfortable. The composite toe insures my feet stay warm in the cold weather compared to steel toes. The Gore-Tex liners keep my feet dry. These shoes keep the water out in rain and snow. Best shoes ever and for some reason, Zappos doesn't carry them anymore!

This is the only boot that fit true to my foot and they took it out of the RME rated section. Zappos needs to bring this back ASAP.

The size and fit was spot on. Composite toe is better than steel because it helps keep your feet and toes warm. These boots are also good for keeping your feet dry.

Fit and size are true to my shoe size. I have owned these shoes for almost their tears Ave wear them five days per week. They are holding up well and will probably last a few more years.
