A little background - I have never worn leggings. I wear running shorts all summer and Exofficio pants in the winter. Since I've been working out, my trunk area has widened quite a bit and I can't force myself to wear any sort of regular pant (jeans, trousers, etc) that fits uncomfortably and/or restricts movement. I'm tired of my Exofficio pants (and they don't fit as well since the bubble butt and wide thigh revolution happened) so my sister encouraged me to try leggings. I strongly dislike shopping and trying on clothes so I try to purchase quality materials and brands that will last awhile. I plan to wear my leggings both as pants and under loose sweaters/shirts. I want a 'basic' legging that is versatile so I did not purchase any loud colors or patterns. I also like clothes that I can wear from work right into the forest for a hike. Having never worn any legging brands, I went hog wild and ordered 11 pairs to try on, 9 of which came from Zappos. Here are my body stats - 41" hip, 31" waist, usually pant size 10, weight ~ 145-152, height 5'7", A little soft in the middle but strong, toned legs. Here are my thoughts - Lysse Tight Ankle Legging 1219 Super tight, could not get over thighs. Nope Patagonia Serenity Legging Shorter than all the others; unattractive near crotch area Prana Misty Legging Very nice material, cool pattern and easy to get on; too low in back and front; unattractive crotch area Yummie Rachel Legging Perfect waistband height, nice feeling material, great length; a little difficult to get on but felt 'right' once they were in place. No movement when bending over. Definitely not see-through. Maybe a little too tight but perfect waistband Hue Ultra Legging w/Wide waistband Great waistband although the Rachel felt most 'right'. Super SUPER comfortable and great for movement/various positions (squatting, crossed legs on floor, etc). Has less cotton and less spandex then Rachel and the difference is made up by Rayon. Definitely not see-through and a bit stretch-ier fit than the Rachel. These were 1" wider on leg opening which I'm sure contributed to the ease of putting on and taking off. Yummie Hannah Legging These made the second round because they had a balanced feeling material and I liked the V look in front. Ultimately, the waistband was a little too low and it both cut in at my gut and was a little revealing when I bent over. Yummie Milan Legging This one was very similar to the Rachel except slightly different fabric blend (88% cotton/12% elastane Rachel vs 84% cotton/16% spandex Milan). I liked them but felt they fit slightly too tight. Yummie Louise Legging These were quickly eliminated - too tight, too spandex-y, and too short Yummie Lenox Legging These made the second round, along with the Yummie Rachel, Yummie Milan & the Hue. I liked the pocket and there was nice give in the leg when pulling them on. Perfect length and nice smooth material. Great height on waist. I tried the Lenox on and then the Rachel, back and forth, trying to decide which I preferred. The Rachel won. While investigating the two, I realized it might be due to the difference in their materials. Rachel is 88% cotton/12% elastane and the Lenox is 88% polyester/12% spandex. ALSO, the ankle is very tight. Merrell Ergoluxe Method Legging Neat pockets, wanted to love them, medium difficulty getting them on; waistband not high enough and not versatile fabric (looks like athletic wear) Merrell Lithos Straight Leg Pant Great fit and super comfortable, perfect length and nice in-between of yoga pant and legging. Ankle is loose (yoga pant) and sits on top of a sneaker nicely but butt/thigh area is tighter like a legging. Eliminated these based on 88% polyester since I already own a pair that is mostly polyester. FINAL DECISION I'm keeping the Rachel and the Hue legging. They just feel so amazing. UPDATE: The Rachel comes up 1 inch higher in the front and is definitely noticeable; I find myself occasionally pulling up on the Hue but the Rachel sits in exactly the right place. Still glad I purchased both.

By far the best fitting leggings I have ever owned. I have ordered several more pair while they are still available as one just never knows. Worth the money. Sorry to be graphic, but they are form fitting without camel toe issue. (Again, sorry.)

The HUE Ultras are my favorite skirts-and-dresses legging. The wide waistband is comfortable and non-binding. I am totally intolerant of anything tight around my waist, so this is super-important to me! There is no seam on the outside of the leg, so these look refined enough to wear with semi-dressy outfits. The fabric is smooth, and the black color has always stayed dark for me even through multiple washings. I own several of these -- I wash them often, and buy a new pair every year, and haven't needed to throw any of them away yet. I wear them all winter, mainly with tall boots but sometimes with shoes, with a wool base-layer underneath in the coldest months (this is New Hampshire!). The legs are long and scrunchy at the ankles, but I don't mind since I have cropped leggings too. For size reference, I'm about 5'3", 115 lbs, 26 or 27" waist, and size S fits perfectly. I wear these like tights with skirts and dresses -- for me, the fabric is too thin to wear as "standalone" pants.

Very nice leggings overall. They look good, and they're thicker and better quality than most leggings I've seen. The waistband is comfortable, not too high rise. My only complaint about these is that they are really long. I'm 5'8", 140 pounds, and I bought the size M. They are perfect, except for the length. There is considerable bunching at the ankles. Since I mostly wear leggings with boots, this is not really an issue, but with other shoes, they would probably look a little awkward.

I love the style of these leggings but they are see through and I don't see how you could ever wear them. Without even bending over in any light you can see your skin through them. I don't understand how you can sell a product like a pant that is see-through. Just poor quality.

These leggings live up to the hype! I am 5'6" and 135 lbs, I bought a small. I agree with others that they run a little long, but they don't look ridiculous. The wide waist band is very flattering because the elastic band inside is wide too and smooths you out. I also recently bought a pair of LuLaRoe leggings. The LLR are much softer, but I noticed the elastic in the waistband is skinny and only runs around the very top of the waistband, so they are not nearly as flattering as the Hue. Will definitely be buying more!

Soft, warm, comfy! The wide waist is truly as they advertise - it comfortably covers things, no muffin top problem. I'm also very happy that they truly fit, and are long enough. I ordered a large, I'm 5'8" and 165 pounds. So many other leggings just aren't long enough but these are.

Fit is awesome! i'm 5'2", 123.6# this morning, have hips and smaller waist, curvy, semi-active/fit 68 yr old hiker. i wanted a cotton legging that would also look nice under a sweater or tunic too. Ordered these and the Yummie Rachel based on that long review by Chelsea (thanks Chelsea) from 2015, who bought like nine pair of leggings and reviewed them all. Sorry Chelsea but I'm not sure how you liked the Rachel and the Hue. I could barely get the Rachel on, way too tight in the waist. Anyway I digress! I love these Hue's. Very comfortable. But I'm 68, I don't care about being molded, I care about moving! Haven't washed them yet, but I wash everything in cold water, and will probably hang these to dry. Also they hit right at my ankle, definitely not too long. Am ordering some more.

I've worn HUE socks for a long time- good quality and durability. Have not tried their leggings until now- glad I did. Same apparent quality- no reason to think they won't last for a long time. Nice fit- not too tight, not too lose. Waist doesn't slip down; they don't bunch up at the knees or ankles, so far. Very happy.

I bought a bunch of these a couple years back and absolutely loved them, but now they're using thinner material, so I know they won't last as long. I still wear the new ones, but I mourn for the loss of quality (and I feel like my legs are colder than in my old pairs). I really wish companies would stop doing that--make an amazing product, then start cheaping out on the materials while raising the prices. I won't be buying these anymore.

These have a new fit - and it's not good! I have been purchasing these leggings for many years. They are the only leggings I wear and I wear them constantly. It is fair to say that I am a die hard fan. Every year, for about the last 5 years, I buy two new pairs of these leggings in a size small. I have A LOT of these HUE Ultra Leggings with Wide Waistband! I purchased two pairs a few months ago and they have completely changed! They run smaller than all of my other size smalls, but most disappointing of all, is that they are easily 2 inches shorter! I am almost 5'10" and the reason I have been such a prodigious consumer of these leggings is the fit. But now they are much too short. And a little bit tighter/restrictive than I'd like. I am sad. I ended up returning one of the pairs of new leggings. I kept the other b/c I wore them, but I basically hate them and just wear the old versions. I'll have to find another legging brand.

Ordered these leggings based on the good reviews (ordered in black and dark grey). the black ones were completely different brand & style. The grey ones had the "Hue" tag on them and everything but the black ones had a totally different name on the tag, not the same quality and also not the same material. be careful when ordering!!

These leggings are about two inches shorter than they've been for the last 5 or 6 years. I've been wearing these leggings for many years and have absolutely loved them. I have ordered them again and again. They have been by far and away my favorite leggings. Per usual, I just ordered two more pairs but they are about 2 inches shorter than all of my other ones! I am nearly 5'10" and they are several inches above my ankle now. I am very disappointed. One of my favorite things about these leggings, that kept me coming back for more year after year, was the fit. They were long enough and the waistband was comfortable. I'm sadly going to have to find some replacement leggings. Not sure why they lopped off a few inches in length.

I bought these to wear as a cold-weather alternative to tights. They're great for that purpose: comfortable, smooth fabric that's just thick enough to be opaque, and has held up through a couple washes so far. Slightly overpriced for what they are, but I didn't have time to wait for a sale. I especially like the comfortable non-binding waistband, and the fact that there's no seam along the outer leg. Sizing is "traditional" so it runs smaller than most modern vanity sizing. Hue's website has a useful size chart. I wear a modern size 0 or 2 (5'4", 110 pounds, 26" waist). Size S in this item was perfect, size XS would have been way too small as it's for a 23"-24" waist. These leggings are perfect for wearing under skirts and dresses, but for me they're too thin to wear as pants.
I'd also recommend:

I’m a size 14/16 but the L fit much better than the XL in this brand. Comfortable, simple, relatively small amount of spandex but easy to take on and off.

Leggings are a good opacity, but seem to run a little big. We got the medium, which is supposed to be a 10/12 for my daughter, who is a solid 12/14, but they are a little loose for leggings.

These are my favorite leggings because they're not too thin and they wash well. The wide waistband feels comfortable and adds a bit of a slimming effect.

XL is a Great fit for a size 14/16. Probably even a little loose, but more comfortable that way. Nice standard pair of black leggings.

Really like these leggings. I’m 5’10” and around 150 lbs. The medium fit very comfortably and were plenty long enough.
