SHALLOW HEAL Be ready for a SHALLOW HEAL POCKET. Meaning, the heal of the shoe doesn't come up very far and the shoe's seam (which is aggressive) is going to rub your heal very hard. Also, the shoe's insert is very thick thus pushing your foot/heal upwards,,, The shoe feels about half size small and a bit narrow (medium width I had before I returned) The shoe is made for a "skater" and its design is to grip your foot,,but it is similar to a Mizuno running shoe whereas either you love the heal pocket or hate it. It caused blisters on both my heals. Try them on in store before you buy online. (unlike me) Good luck

I tried these out after hearing about the cushioned insoles. I love Vans, but am unable to wear them for long periods of time at work. These do the trick. The ball of the foot cushion is a little lacking. But the heel cushion is great and just what I needed. Fit is true to size.

The vans old skool pro’s might be the best shoes on the planet.

I have owned the Vans Old Skool (non-pro version) and they are a great all-around shoes, but they don't last very long. They end up with holes and will fall apart with everyday wear and tear. This pro version Old Skool, however, solve the issues I had with the original Old Skool. They are built with durability in mind without changing the original design much at all. The extra cost is definitely worth the extended life of the shoes. I would recommend this shoes for anyone who loves the style of the original Old Skool and wants a shoes that can take some abuse.

These are really terrific shoes. I am impressed. Put them on this morning and the fit was perfect. No break-in period. The shoes felt true to my size. Once again, Zappos delivered overnight!

Vans quality seems to be going down the sewer lately. I've gone through 3 pairs of Old Skool Pro, 3 pairs of slip-ons and a pair of Kyle Walkers in about two years. This seems unacceptable to me, I'm not even hard on these shoes, I don't even use them for skating. I have decided to try other brands. The siding comes off on almost every single Vans now, I've had to use shoe goo on every single pair I've had recently. The attached pics are of shoes that are 3 MONTHS OLD! The only positive to them is that they are indeed comfortable and they fit perfectly, but the quality issues are unacceptable.

Great style. Saw these on someone and snapped a covert pic to track them down - had to have them! More narrow than the old school Old Skool shoes. Comfort out of the box is OK but can see them getting better over time. For a flat soles shoe the arch support isn’t bad by moderate at best. Look great with jeans and shorts. Very happy with the purchase. A great add for the summer.

Way cushier than the black pair I got a month before, for some reason. The side Vans tag is white with blue, not white with red, as pictured. Not a big deal, but that red does pop. Overall a nice, style pair of sneaks at a fair price. And Zappos price match and service makes it even better!

Vans Old Skool Pro, a great example of how the classics remain in style forever. Great feel and with the new cushion soles even better. Usually a sz 11 in Vans, had to go up a half size to sz 11.5 for a perfect fit. And via Zappos chat customer service, and their lighting fast exchanges had me a new pair within 24hrs. Their customer service and return/exchange process is unparalleled in online shopping. Bravo! If only other retailers could replicate what they do.

After reading so many reviews about people ordering sizes in the OS Pro other than what they normally would I was worried. I normally wear an 11 in all shoes, including the many other pairs of Vans that I have. So I took the chance and went with an 11 in these. They fit perfect! Also, others have commented that the insoles are not removable while some have said they are. My pair came with removable insoles. I pulled them out just to check and they are thick! I've been wearing them around the past two days to break them in a little before I go on a trip and have zero complaints. No toe rubbing, no heel wear. The look is fantastic. I tend to like the Old Skool's better because the shoe comes up a little higher on the foot. No problems wearing ankle socks which look odd with the Era's. This also means no squeaky heel noise as your feet get warm while wearing no-show socks with the lower profile Vans. Finally, my kids love them and want me to get them their own pairs.

Shoes fit true to size. I was in the middle between these and the regular old skool ones (non pro). Read that they hold up longer and have a better insole. They feel real sturdy and the insole part is true. I had wore the vans era before and the insole in these pros are better and seem to have more support. Also the suede material on the front toe and back seem to reinforce the shoe. ( My era's always rip in the toe and make me look like a 1920's hobo). Only complaint is that they feel more restricting than my era's but that is probably just a material make up. (not all canvas). And they're too white lol but I'll have to scuff them up to my liking. With new shoes I want the worn in feel without them being in tatters.

They will make you feel like the cool dad.

Bought these for my 14 year old son and he loves them! He says they are much more comfortable than the regular Vans, since these have the cushioned insole. The contrast of the canvas and suede gives these really nice look also.

Great shoe. Feels solid yet comfy.

For years, I've suffered through the uncomfortable Vans shoes because they are such cool, iconic shoes. If I knew I was going to have to be on my feet or walking a lot, I'd never consider my Core Classic slip ons or Authentic Core Classics. But no more! The kicks are so much more comfortable than the rest of their shoes AND they look great. My only problem with them, is that they are a bit warm to wear, but worth it.

Just received my vans last week. They look great and are comfortable. True to size and durable material.

I buy a pair every 2 years wear the hell out of them

This is everything you need a shoe to be. I might even call them perfect, but I don't like to commit to things like that. They don't look super fancy, but they are very comfortable and they aren't going to let you down either. The "Pro" thing means they have some extra padding, and it makes all the difference, especially on the heel. I bought the black on black ones so I can wear them with anything, even when I should be wearing something nicer than sneakers. Every time you wear these foot pillows your feet (and maybe an occasional stranger on the street) will say "hey, nice vans" and that's really all you need in a pair of shoes.

This is my second pair of Vans Old Skool Pro shoe. I wear an 8.5 Men's size and these shoes fit perfectly. They are very comfortable. This time I got the checkerboard shoe and it looks great. Once again, I ordered on the weekend and received them on Tuesday. What great service! Thank you Zappos.

Exactly what I expected. This is my first “pro” edition of this shoe, and the comfort is even better than the standard version. The shoe comfortably hugs my ankle and is comfortable throughout an 8-hour day on my feet. Plus they look good with just about any outfit!

These are for my 14 year old son and he loves them, we buy more each time he wears them out, which isn't nearly as often for these as it is with normal Vans. These definitely last longer and have much more cushion. His doctor said that wearing the normal Vans to play in isn't much better than being bare foot. These are much nicer, the "pro" versions. We did get some more custom arch supports for him though at one of the Walking Stores and that helps a lot with these. To put them in normal Vans you have to tear out the lining because it's glued in. With these you can just remove the padded insole and replace them with the custom ones.

the Ol Skool Pro is def. a higher volume shoe then many other vans. this allows room for my 3/4 orthotics on top of the killer Vans insole and the shoe still fits well !! typical Ol Skool Pro .. looks dope, gum sole, last will eventually separate from upper but at 60 bones and a season or 2 before they are too clapped out i'll afford another set.

Great red color but, it bleeds into your socks and shoelaces. Rubbed blisters on my heel the first time I wore them. Hoping they will break faster on my second wear. These are my first Vans
