If possible I would give high Sierra a negative 5 for the overall customer service experience. Trying to obtain status of my package, was told wait 10 days before they could anything. Calling after 10 days was we start the process give us another 5 or 10 days to get a status,

This bag is a year old and I am tired of sewing the seams. It was comfortable and good pockets but not worth it if stuff falls out and eventually this will just completely open someday mid hiking. Also returns for warranty are just horrible. I quit and never again.

Such extremely poor quality that I now doubt the quality of the entire brand. I to have the shoulder straps and chest strap repaired when less than a year old. Now, at less than 3 yrs old, the lower corner seems as completely ripped apart and is un-repairable

I use this for business travel. it was less than 6 mos. old when the wrap around zipper broke causing my computer to fall cracking the case while in the airport. the plastic zippers are poor quality.

I bought this knapsack a few months back at same sale price as advertised currently. I have always liked High Sierra products - think they are good value for price. Not so with this. The material has essentially shredded by the zipper to the first large section, leaving the section wide open with torn up material, thereby making this knapsack useless. I will now invest a bit more and buy something of higher quality. Very disappointing.

It already ripped and my son has only used it as a school backpack for a few weeks.

Very Stylish looking, but extremely fragile. Did not last more than 3 months before it started to fall apart. My previous high sierra backpack lasted more than 7 years.

After using this for 2 months the outside skin has torn in 2 places, along with the seams on the internal accessory pocket. I woke up one day to pick the bag up and the skin on the left strap completely popped and separated from the rest of the strap. I use this bag for work and personal use daily, but I've owned many Swissgear bags that have lasted me more than 3 years, I bought this on a recommendation but I'll never buy one again.

I was very excited about this product when I purchased. It has a lot of compartments; laptop and iPad area that are padded and separated. I moved internationally for Vet school and wanted to replace my old High sierra backpack because I will be here for 3 years and my old one had started to tear in a small place on the top. You can imagine my surprise when only 2 months into the semester, the pack rips! A giant chunk of the bottom portion of the laptop holder ripped at the seam and left a frayed edge...no way for me to sew it back together. Very disappointing! Now I am in another country and unable to get a replacement or any customer service. Wish I didn't leave my old backpack in the States!

I cant believe the strap tore from the sim so fast. I think it was not sewed correctly to begin. I only used this on the field 3 months. Nothing heavy just a laptop and some accessories. Before this backpack, I had a another one and it lasted over 5 year before I saw a tear on a sim. Very Disappointed in High Sierra.

I purchased this backpack to replace a 8 year old (othercompanythatismuchbetter) backpack that was starting to tear apart. I needed a high quality backpack to fit the needs of my busy life consisting of school, work, and light outdoor travel. It needed to be heavily padded to carry my expensive laptops and computer components. I thought this backpack was quite stylish and looked quite spacious and rugged. It seemed to have all the features I needed. When I got the backpack I was very excited to explore the spacious compartments, plentiful pockets and pouches. I quickly transferred all my items for school into the backpack. I was very pleased that it had a very padded compartment for my computer, but noticed the first time I set the backpack down hard, that there is a thin gap in the padding and heard my brand new $1200 laptop crash with a sickening thunk on the floor. The laptop was just thin enough for it to slip in between this gap. After the first 2 months of using the backpack, the fabric attached to the handle started to separate from the rivet. After 4 months of using the backpack lightly the front pouch almost had completely ripped off, the mesh pouches on the front and side were tattered, and the handle was falling off. I didn't even use the backpack too rough. I called and emailed customer support for a replacement. They required me to cut a hole through the backpack (presumably so I couldn't use it again), and take detailed photos of the backpack. I was then told to pick 4 backpacks from the website. WHAT KIND OF POLICY IS THAT? SORRY WE MADE AN INFERIOR PRODUCT WE MIGHT REPLACE IT? I EXPECT THAT I WILL GET THE SAME OR EQUAL PRODUCT. The arrogance. Especially since this is one of the most expensive backpacks that his company sells, I have the chance that I might get a cheaper one. That is just plain stupid, and whoever came up with that policy should be fired. The fact that I had to rip a hole through the backpack is just stupid. I should just be able to keep it the way it is, especially after what I went through with this junk. I couldn't use it again for my uses anyway, and I might have donated the backpack to someone who is less fortunate and doesn't have a backpack at all. I WILL NEVER MAKE A PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN, OR ANY OF ITS SISTER COMPANIES. I WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE I KNOW THAT THIS COMPANY IS HORRID. Please, If you are reading this, DO NOT BUY THIS BACKPACK, OR ANY OTHER PRODUCTS FROM THIS COMPANY.

I like the bag. It would work great if it wasn't broken when I received it.

I gave this backpack to my high school son for school use as a Christmas present. This was to replace an LL Bean backpack he had used for 4 years without issue. Five months later, this High Sierra backpack has substantial tears and ripped seams. The straps are almost shot. This is a terrible product...do not buy.
