The brass ages nicely and the leather is very strong and thick, good enough for hot summers working in a sheet metal shop. Because of this great quality it takes a couple of months to stretch the belt from the first comfortable hole to the next one, which is where it eventually settles. I wear a 32 in jeans so I ordered the 34 Filson belt and, after the leather settled, I’ve got three open holes on both sides of the buckle. This makes my buckle hole the center hole of the belt which is nice. Great belt probably perfect.

I wear this 36 size belt on the second belt hole from the front. My waist size is 34. Which is to say the belt is a minimum of one full size smaller than a 36.

The Filson 1 ½" leather belt does an excellent job of holding up your britches. It's comfortably perfect and true to size in regard to the length and width. Thank you Zappos for the outstanding service and product selection.

This is a very well made belt. Real leather that does not bleed into clothing into first several wears. Great with jeans. While I'd agree the roller is a little loud it's not THAT bad. I mean once it's secured it doesn't make noise. Filson quality is legendary, this belt is no exception.
