Good shoe, comfortable, good support, durable, looks good. Only one big problem - too heavy. My last cross trainer was a lot lighter but they stopped making it (MX797v4 - was a great shoe). I was hoping for a light cross trainer with good support that I could run and lift with in the gym. I would not recommend this shoe for running...maybe for heavy weight training. I wear NB for everything - gym, running, golf, tennis...etc and it is getting harder and harder to find solid shoes like the MX797v4 that I bought last year

When I put these on, right out of the box, I knew these were the real deal. I walk a lot and extremely comfortable while on the treadmill, walking on the street or around the house. Feet and knees don't ache.

These shoes were poorly constructed the sides were coming unglued and falling apart right out of the box . I have had other new balance shoes that were better made so I sent them back.

NB's Customer Service Rep was wonderful! When I called to return a sneaker that was too narrow in the toes, this lovely lady took the time to inform of those models that were wider at the toe. These suggestions led me to select the model I'm wearing now. It fits! In my 68 years on this earth, I have rarely worn shoes/sneakers that fit and are comfortable. These are a treat! Thanks! DCH

This style did not fit properly. I tried wearing it to see if they would stretch a bit and they did not. They were not 4EEE as they claimed to be. My last pair was also returned for the same reason.

I've been buying 990 & 996 styles in 11.5-4E for years. When I ordered this new style in the same size, it was so narrow I couldn't fit my foot into them even with the laces removed! I can't try them in the store, since no shoe store I have ever seen stocks 4E sizes in any style. I guess I'll have to go to another brand for realistic sizing.

True to size. Excellent fit, and arch support.
For someone who was recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, these shoes made a instant, and significant impact.

I have worn NB shoes for over 20 years, this is the first pair that was sized smaller than labeled. I've always fit into their size 13, this pair fit more like a size 12 1/2 Bummer that the brand is sinking. I'll try the local NB store to see if it was a fluke.
I'd also recommend:
Nike or Puma

The shoe is much shorter than the usual 1200 series shoe; I had to order one full size larger. Also, the width is more narrow than the standard NB D width. Also, the tongue is a little too short and hits my ankle uncomfortably. Disappointing.

I do not like the shoes, especially the lowered heel. They just aren't as comfortable as others I've ordered!

My only real problem with these is that I ordered a wide shoe because I have wide feet.. However the shoelaces are made for someone with a thin width foot. So once I get the shoe laced up there is hardly anything left to tie.

I put these on out of the box and they are great. Typically I wear a 12½ 4E in Brooks Adrenaline, but I am glad that I bought these in a 13 4E as they seem to run a little small. I have been on my feet all day for the past couple of days and these are very comfortable.
