This is my first pair of Josef Seibel shoes, but I have been thoroughly impressed. I purchased the Kongo about 2 months ago, and have used them as my "everyday" shoe ever since. I work in the restaurant industry where I am on my feet most of the day, and these have been very comfortable for me. I can already tell the quality with which these are made during the past 2 months (I did not intend on this being a daily shoe). I use a wax-free "Boot and Shoe Care" lotion to clean and soften the looks of the leather once every 1-2 weeks, but each time they look like new again. The stitching and leather are holding up beautifully, and I'm thinking I will either have to replace the shoe sole or the shoes themselves before the structure and look of the shoe loses anything! A great classy/casual shoe that works for just about any event. Wear with jeans, khakis, or slacks all the same. Also, I should mention I've coated with a weather-proofing spray from the local shoe store and these shoes made it through another rough/sloppy Michigan winter with no signs of additional wear and tear...I'm not a fan of switching from boots to shoes when going from inside to outside all day long, so I rarely wear boots. Purchase with confidence.

I have had these Josef Seibel shoes for one year now and they are one of, if not the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. I have about 50 pairs of shoes, so that's a huge compliment to this shoe. I had PTTD tendon transfer surgery in 2014 and wear custom made orthotics. The orthotics fit nicely inside these shoes and I can wear them all day, without pain or fatigue of the surgery area. This was the first pair of JS shoes I have ever purchased, but highly recommend them for those with flat feet or plantar fasciitis and related foot issues.

Excellent shoes for walking and even light hiking. I have a flat and sweaty feet. Because of that, I need to replace insole with Birkenstock's Birkobalance and prefer leather lining. Kongo works perfectly with the requirements. They did not require break-in and only a week later I had them for a 2+ weeks travel. I brought an extra pair of sport shoes just in case as we hiked around most time. It turned out I never need to change the shoes at all. I had them walking in the city and hiking around.

Josef Seibel shoes are generally reliable for comfort and durability. The Kongo shoe is no exception to this rule. It's comfortable right out of the box, with good arch support and accurate sizing. The shoe is also just right in the toe box -- no cramped feeling, which sometimes is the mark of other brands. If you're traveling, and walking some, you can put these shoes on your feet and/or in your luggage and enjoy the trip!

love the shoe, but I ordered a size too large could send me size 44 m. I really can't answer the questions below since I realized I had ordered the wrong size

I bought these for my husband. He has sensitive skin and always has issues with shoes. After some research on hypoallergenic shoes I landed at Josef Seibel. He has been wearing them almost every day for two weeks and has no complaints.

The Josef Seibel: Kongo is the most comfortable shoe that I have ever worn. I am very careful with my shoe selections. This is a great shoe! One that you can wear all day in comfort.

I received a pair of Kongos three months ago. I was able to immediately wear the shoe. The leather is soft and comfortable. The stroble construction makes the shoe very flexible. And, the shoe is exceptionally lightweight. My main criticism is that the shoe is not particularly stable. I noticed that my foot will roll. I attribute this to the shoe's design which emphasizes a lightweight platform instead of a more stable one. Overall, I am satisfied with my pair of Kongos. I especially appreciate the soft leather. In comparison to similar brands at this price point, the quality of the leather is an outstanding value.

My other three pair of Jos Siebel shoes are very light, these are heavy, clunky and more suitable for cold winter wear.
