Runs small. Have to send back. Shoe-makers...why don't you make 10.5? There is a size between 10-11 just like all the other sizes. Stop discriminating against big feet!

I bought a pair of Black and Toffee Basel Booties maybe 2 years ago and they are THE MOST comfortable pairs of shoes I own. When I first got them I was so impressed with the quality and the comfort level that I wore them so much the first couple weeks. I was so surprised they didn't need to be broken in at all. I love them so much that I bought a 2nd Black and 2nd Toffee pair just in case one day they were discontinued I would always hair my favorite shoes. However, I can not expressed how disappointed I am with the new design that must have taken place. The Basel bootie before was a little shorter and the material was not as stiff as the new ones. The coloring is a little different which is OK-- but the worst part about it is they are so small. I got a 6 1/2 in both as that is the Basel size I had before. They hurt my toes so badly and the arch of my foot doesn't touch the bottom of the boot. They are so uncomfortable I can't even wear them. I attached a picture of the difference between them. I really hope they address this. I am so sad about It. :[

Doesn't really hold it's shape! The shoe leather is very soft, which is good and bad. - The Good: it feels great on. It's a great comfy shoe that I've been wearing non-stop. - The Bad: there is a lot of stretch happening around the ankles. The shoes remind me more of rain boots at this point (stretched out wide around the ankles). They look sloppy now, and not like the stock images in the pictures. To top it off, I don't think the heel is going to last either. This shoe was purchased less than a month ago - I would have expected the heel to show less wear!

I was very pleased with both the fit and look of these books when I first received them. They looked great and I could easily wear them aa day. Unfortunately, after only about 10-15 wears they started to show unusually heavy signs of wear and tear. For the price of these boots, I would have expected better quality.

These boots are THE BEST bootie going for this Fall! I wear a size 9N-M usually, so I ordered the 9. For me, the width was a smidge narrow and the length was a smidge short (when I was trying them on barefooted). Then, I tried them on with a trouser (like a knee-high hose) slick sock and voila! However, by the time I wore them around the house for 10 minutes, the leather relaxed and all of the above became moot points. I would highly recommend going up a half size if you intend to wear thinner socks or a whole size to wear with thicker weight socks. These are so stylish with leggings, jeggings, or slim fit jeans...really anything! They aren't too Western, Biker, Rocker or Trekkie looking...and the quality of leather is so soft (especially in the Black choice). I also liked that the opening felt closer to my ankle size, instead of flopping wide open at the top...not slouchy. I LOVE the lower heel height and that it's a 3-4 Season look (except for deep snow)! Both sides have a functioning zipper - great for those of us who have a high instep. I wasn't aware that Lucky Brand even made footwear, but I am thoroughly delighted with both pairs (Black and the solid Toffee)!

I love the style and fit but on my 4th day of wear, I noticed the heel was peeling on both boots and lots of scuff marks. This was with moderate wear...not too much walking outside. I have other pairs of Lucky boots (all suede) and have never had this problem. I noticed the same complaint from others who purchased and reviewed. No worries though...I called Zappos and customer service was very accommodating as always. This will not stop me from getting other pairs of Lucky boots though...I just won't re-order this pair. Maybe I'll stick to the suede styles.

I would rate this 0 stars if I could. I have had this product for a month and the sole is completely worn out. There were scuff marks on the leather within one use. I would have expected better quality material for the price. The sole on the heels are completely worn and were not durable.

Was so excited about these shoes! They are the perfect everyday shoes, looked great with jeans and dressed down (black was a good match for both brown and black outfits). But... the quality is not good. After wearing them around for less than a month (maybe 2 or 3 weeks?), the was huge signs of wear! The "leather" is really only a thin surface finish, peeling back to show the material underneath (you can't fix that with shoe polish). Additionally, the heel and toe region looked scuffed and broken - like I had been wearing it for years everyday! Definitely not 2-3 weeks of wear, even if it was everyday! TL;DR After 2-3 weeks of wear, they looked like I'd been wearing them for years... It's too bad tho, since the style and fit was great!

I’ve only had these since December and the heel has completely separated from the shoe (pics below) and the toes are all scuffed. This is my second pair of Lucky boots to fall apart within just a few months, so won’t be getting that brand again.

These boots really make me angry. I wore them to lunch and a movie and I'm shocked at the visible wear on the heal with this single, gentle outing. The fit was a bit loose and didn't have arch support. The visible wear makes me want to return them to the manufacture for a full refund. There is no excuse for this already. I would say DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on these shoes. I won't consider another pair of Lucky Brand shoes again after this.

I have two pairs of the Basel, both purchased in the fall of 2017 (writing this in October 2018). One of them I absolutely adore. The other is super disappointing and a giant waste of money. I bought the Basel in black in my usual size, an 8. They fit well right out of the box, the leather is soft and supple, and they are amazingly comfortable for all day wear - even when walking a lot. They look great with jeans, leggings, and even a dress with tights. I loved them so much that I bought them in brown in the same size. The brown pair. Oh sad, sad brown pair. The same size in the brown are stiff, and weirdly small. I thought maybe since it was another color that the leather was just treated differently and needed to loosen up. But no. I have worn them a dozen times or more, trying to get them to loosen up and they are absolutely painful to wear. But, I tried them for so long there was no hope of returning or exchanging. Which is very sad for me, since the color is really lovely and exactly what I wanted. I would suggest going up a size if you're getting the brown. Another small note is that the heel is wrapped (which is hard to tell from photos and description). Not a big deal right away, but the wrapping on the black pair (which I have worn a lot, to be fair) is pulling away in several places, making the booties a little less "nice" looking now. Not a huge thing, but worth mentioning.

Bought these in black and absolutely loved them. Asked my husband to buy the toffee color for Christmas. It had snowed the first day I wanted to wear them so I treated them with leather protector. Unfortunately, this pulled large sections of the stain off the boots. They look splotchy and terrible now. Super disappointing.

Love me some Basel!!!! I bought these the day before going to New Orleans for a short vacation. I wore them straight out of the box and walked 8 miles in them all over New Orleans without a blister or an ache. I had normal tired feet but that's to be expected considering the 8 mile concrete hike. Comfortable and stylish, couldn't ask for more! I have a pretty narrow foot and thought these were on the slim side so if you have a wider foot you may need to order up. Minimal to moderate arch support.

These shoes seem to get even more comfortable with time. I am between an 8.5 and 9 and I got a 9 and they fit perfectly. Exactly what I wanted!

They're not very comfortable and they scratch super easily. If you don't mind your shoes getting scratched up and using shoe inserts, then they're nice shoes to have.

I originally ordered these in a 12 medium, which is what I normally wear as I have somewhat narrow feet, but after wearing them around for a few hours I realized they were more narrow than I expected. I exchanged them for these 12 wides, which are definitely a good width but they are visibly shorter in length and my toes are cramped. If they weren’t labeled 12W I would have mistaken them for 11W. I’m sending the wides back instead of the original 12M because I love the style, and I’m hoping that the leather will stretch and conform to my foot with a few days of wear. If it wasn’t so difficult to find stylish, functional shoes in a size 12 I would have returned both pairs due to the sizing.

I liked these booties and they fit, but one boot was defective, or at least made entirely differently from the other. While one had a hard, shaped toe cap, as found in most shoes, the other had a completely soft toe, seemingly missing this internal stiffening, so that the toe wrinkled on the foot. This is not a matter of one being broken in; it simply didn't have this important construction element.

I usually wear a size 9. I ordered a size 9 and they fit. I also have a somewhat narrow foot and these were not loose in width. Haven't worn them anywhere except around the house to make sure I'll keep them. I was wanting something other than boring brown or black and got the tan snake skin. I would imagine if you weren't careful you could "scratch" off that reptile skin from the boot as it's just a layer over thin leather. All in all I"m happy with the boot.

I had a black pair of these I had gotten for a gift, so I ordered the brown pair for myself. Might be ordering a new black pair soon as the leather around the ankle has become a little stretched and creased looking after ~3 years of wear but as to be expected. I wear them ALL THE TIME. They go with dresses, leggings, jeans, anything. As long as you polish your shoes every couple months they will last you a lifetime. Great shoes for wearing out to dinner or even walking around on vacation. Love these shoes.

Very cute but runs a little narrow like other Lucky Brand shoes I have purchased. I will return since I decided the color and narrowness of the shoe are not right for me.

These were tighter than the same size usually fits. Also, it says they are leather uppers, but the "tire" smell was overwhelming. Had to return them.

Great looking booties! Had to add more arch support, but more comfortable now. Agree with others in that size 10 1/2 should be an option. I tried the size 11, but too big - size 10 worked in this shoe as the toe is more rounded. Thinking of ordering the black pair as well.

I have these in black and loved them, so I ordered the brown. They are a bit uncomfortable at first, but once they are "worn" a bit they fit great. I wore the black nearly every day all winter and they're in GREAT shape. Can't wait to add the brown to the rotation!

Purchased these last winter and decided to write a review since I am still in love with these. They are super comfy and durable! I have worn these to walk the kiddos to and from school and they are not one bit uncomfortable. I have noticed after a year of regular wear the upper is flawless and I am only noticing a slight wear of the back heel. Soles are not worn either.

Based on others' reviews, I ordered a 8.5 when I usually wear 7.5-8. Way too big. Went down to an 8, and they fit perfectly. I've worn them a few times and they've stretched a bit which I like since they do feel a bit narrow. The style is a little 'edgier' than I typically go, but they give a different feel to my predictable JCrew look. They don't feel cowgirl and they're not slouchy boots. Narrow ankle so they look best with tights/leggings or fitted ankle-length pants.
