Bought these to wear in Hawaii. Everyone always notices these shoes and asks me about them. I love that styling but if you are wearing these as a water shoe watch out! The only thing I don't like about these shoes is that sand gets in the little holes, and in between the rubber and your ankle/top of foot/heel. If you are swimming, it's fine - the sand washes out. But if you are hiking along the water/cliffs/trails/lava and you have sand in your shoe, you are guaranteed blisters. A better improved styling would be to put mesh behind the holes so sand and rocks can't get in. Make sure you get the right size or your foot will squeak around inside the shoe when wet. Great for hiking if dry. Great for beach if you keep off the sand or swim only.

The Ultra 2 is a winner, the size fits me perfectly, (44). Keeping in mind that this shoe is meant to let your foot spread out. I use this shoe for runs and as camp shoes for backpacking as Ive found nothing lighter that provides a somewhat closed shoe. They weigh 6.5 oz per shoe. (44) Your essentially wearing a thin (very thin) buffer between you and the pavement. I find these to be a much better fit than the previous version. Last version I ordered a 10 and a 10.5, one squished my toes, the other felt like a clown shoe, both went back. Glad I gave this version a go.

My siblings bought this shoe two years ago. It worked well for them in DR. I decide to get a pair this year for PR. However, I tried fit convert my women's size 8.5 to a men's 7.5 because of color. It was too large. So I'm returning them for the boring blue, my sister has the pink and I refuse to wear the same in the same setting. Wish they had this shoe in red for women.

These are way better than expected. They are light, comfortable, and good looking. As close as you can get to barefoot!

My really wide feet fit pretty well in these. I would like them wider at the mid-foot, but my toes have good space. I've worn them only a few hours to this point, so I'll see how they are long term.

Awesome shoe! Not very comfortable for long walks. I inserted a new cushion insole and it is ready for all day wear.

I love these shoes! Do yourself a favor and buy them. I wear them everyday. No arch support, but they are minimal shoes -- so what do you expect? They are super stylish, people always notice them. Fun shoes.

Just got these and find them to be very comfortable. Plenty of room in the toe box area which is great for me because I have arthritis in my big toe joints. No arch support at all.

Vivobarefoot has abandoned the ultra pure...which has a more comfortable toebox...it was the original model that brought the company to the dance. This is a nicer looking shoe, but tighter and less room for the toes to splay.

I just ordered this, and received in mail. I have the ultra originals, and am familiar with this line of shoes.
I ordered the ultra 2 yellow/black color, unfortunately I have to return them immediately. The color description, and picture of shoes is not accurate to the true color. The outsole is yellow, as well as the V logo on side, but the band between the black and yellow outsole is orange. Yes the band in the middle is actually awfully bright orange color. This is not what I wanted. I was expecting the shoe to be black/yellow only.
Zappos please update the color description!

The shoe is made of a plastic material. It is not a grabby Vibram type of sole. It has a tread, but I believe that it would be slippery when wet as plastic often is. Although the shoe came in too big, it was obvious that any walking and certainly running was going to mean lots of blisters. They are very odd. No good at the beach as they would fill immediately with sand. Maybe they would work on a French beach that has nothing but fist sized rocks, but regular tennis shoes would be more comfortable. They are just a plastic shell with holes in them. Flexible, but the top buckled when I walked making certain that the top was going to be rubbing more blisters. I honestly cannot figure out where these would work well. Even as a garden shoe, too much dirt would enter. One star for low price, one star for kind of looking cool.

Very confusing. These seem to be part of 3 part system. Removable foot bed is mentioned, but I can't figure out how to remove it. And there is an inner sock thing, but not part of what you get here. Inner sole is not flat. Has grooved pattern. Not comfortable for me.

I love my Vivobarefoot Ra, and Soul of Africa casual shoes. I wanted water shoes and/or running shoes, and these seemed to fit the bill. I ordered my size (EU47), but these are made of rubber and are actually sized EU46-47. They are too small, and won't stretch. Blisters guaranteed .
