I have ordered probably five pairs of wide calf boots in the past few years and had to send them back, so I did not hold out much hope. I was so thrilled when they zipped right up and were comfortable! The black stretchy inserts are suede-like and very attractive, not that nylon elastic stuff that I think is very ugly. The quality is terrific, the leather soft, and the sole and heel a really good rubber for non-slide wearing. The only thing I could say in the negative is that the sole and heel are a teeny bit Eddie Bauer in other words not terribly dressy, but I still wear them with long cotton skirts and denim and leggings, all of which look great. I have a very high instep and wide (front to back) ankle, and these were the first to fit. I love them, and hope to order the brown!

These have to be the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. After returning two pair of boots (Zappos is extremely amazingly awesome about returns) I finally settled with these. It has a padded lining throughout the entire shoe so your whole foot is comfy. The look more than what they cost and they are perfect for anyone who needs a wide width/calf. I get compliments constantly on these shoes. So happy about my purchase.

I liked these so much that I came back to buy the black ones, too. So comfortable, like wearing slippers. Fits over jeans and my 16" calves. Toe box nice and roomy, but not overly so. I usually wear between a 7 and 7.5 and the 7.5 fits perfectly.

These boots are easy to put on and are very comfortable. I was able to put my orthodics into them. The boots are stylish and keep your legs warm.

Love this boot! Rediculously comfortable. walk to and from work 1.5 miles each way in complete comfort... like being in running shoes. Perfect height and width... I'm 5 feet tall and top of boot hits just below the knee. usually wear 5.5 in dress shoes, 6.5 in running shoes. This boot in size 6 perfect! I would buy more if more styles

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots! I didn't wear boots for years because of my big legs - wide feet, wide cankles, and fat calves (er, "muscular"...NOT!). I tried Naturalizer Joan, which are beautiful, but the foot ran incredibly narrow, and I ordered an extra-wide!), and had a lot of trouble zipping them up the middle (the tops of the boots fit fine). I couldn't walk naturally because they were so tight. But as soon as I slipped my feet into these, I just knew. I could wear these all day, with socks AND leggings on at the same time. I like the double-look also - from the back they look like suede boots (it's really a stretchy fabric, but unless you're up close, it looks like suede), and from the front it is leather. And the button details on the top side are very pretty. The ankle sags a bit, and I do prefer the buckle-riding-boot style, though, so I deducted a point on style. The insole has this furry-like fabric which provides a little cushioning. The footbed is pretty flexible as well.

After much searching for a boot with a wide calf that wouldn't be too high, I found this one and I'm so happy I did! It fits perfectly. I am only 5' tall and this boot hits in just the right place. They are well worth the money I spent on them!

I received my boots today and am very happy with them. They are super cute, and very comfortable! They are very well made and come Scotchgarded. I ordered them in 9W but they seem a little narrow for a wide and still fit. I'm just glad I didn't get the regular width. Can't wait to wear them!

These boots are exactly what I have been looking for. They are very comfortable for walking but thin and classy enough looking to wear with skirts. Nice leather.

I was wanting a black stylish riding boot, and realized I was going to have to go into the wide calf boot. Because of the way all the boots are made I couldn't buy what I wanted in the high end department stores. I am grateful to those that wrote reveiws. Because of their comments I was able to select the Propet Charlotte boot. I am so pleased with these boots. They are comforable, styish, and I am able to zip them up over my legging jeans. Also, the company was wonderful about mailing them out to me immedially so I could have them for Thanksgiving.

When I first took these boots out of the box, I thought "no way are they going to fit around my 16" calves". Surprisingly, I was wrong. They have quite a bit of give. The back that I thought was microfiber is actually a really nice thin suede. I took a closeup of the studs because I was worried that they would look cheap. They do not. Overall, I am pleased with my size 7 purchase, and I will be keeping them. Never would have thought of this brand. Thanks Zappo!

I have the regular calf (NOT wide calf) but wide foot version and am very happy with them. They look nice and are comfortable. The shaft is soft and flexible. I am very intolerant of uncomfortable shoes and am happy with these boots. If the heel were a little lower (I like flats), they'd be perfect. I was a little worried about the buttons/studs on the sides looking goofy, but they are dark and not very shiny, so they're no problem. Received compliments and questions about where I got them.

I love these boots because they've lasted so long. I bought them about two years ago and I wear them when I want to look a bit fancier. I am abusive to boots. I live in Chicago and have had the soles of my boots literally break into pieces from wear. These are still going strong and they look just as awesome as when I bought them! I love that they fit over my enormous calves since that is NOT easy to find. The stretchy material ensures that the boots are comfortable.

Hands-down my favorite boots to date. The back material is stylish, but offers enough stretch to zip these over meaty calves clad in jeans or leggings. They're a wardrobe staple for me!

Love these boots. I have wide calfs, and at first they didn't seem like they were gonna zip up all the way but they did. They're super comfortable.

Great boots! They look great and fit even better. I finally bought boots for the 1st time and really picked a winner of a pair. The leather looks very nice, the little silver detail on the side is a nice touch, and the fabric on the back is comfortable and really looks like suede. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

I have struggled to find a nice pair of boots that would fit my calves. These were just perfect, and really comfortable to wear. The size was true to size. So glad I found them.

After reading the reviews I was skeptical; however, I was pleasantly surprised! The insoles are not the best, but you can always get some Dr. Scholls inserts. Otherwise, these are comfortable boots and great with skinny jeans or leggings. Versatile for work or play.

These are beautiful boots. I agree with Zappos Brooke that most wide-calf boots are 'meh at best. These boots are stylish and actually fit well. They don't have a ton of fabric draping about your lower legs making you look like an elephant trying to be stylish. My calf is 16 1/4" and these fit perfectly. I prefer comfort and sometimes I feel like I have to give-up style (I live in Danskos); however, not with these boots. They are comfortable and quietly elegant and of good quality. WOW, I really love them! They will be perfect with my Christmas dress!

Love these boots! I was worried about the calf fitting since my actual measurement was a little bigger than the boot measurement. But they fit perfectly! And you'd never know they were made for a wide calf. I can even get them over my skinny jeans. The boots were a little stiff out of the box, but have broken in nicely.

These boots are beautiful and they are comfortable...and they fit my wide calf...BUT they are SO big and baggy in the ankle that I have to return them.

These were gorgeous boots! Just not wide enough for my hobbit feet and wide calves.

I loved this shoe - it was beautiful, comfortable, and the stretchiness of the back makes it suitable for slightly bigger calves. I had to return it because, although it says wide calf, it is a couple of inches narrower than the other brands I tried. I wish it had truly been a wide-calf boot. I would guess that it would be perfect for a 16 inch calf? Other brands wide calf seem to be 18 inch.

too tight in foot, want more room for socks. Have ordered 1/2 size larger.
