Nike Cortez is a classically dysfunctional shoe: extremely pretty, gorgeous proportions, but made for what cannot be described as regular human feet. For example, most shoes can be worn with or without socks with the only difference being that that the shoe will feel smaller with the sock on. Cortez, however, will actually slip off your foot if not worn with socks. It seems to be built without understanding that the human foot has a heel that tapers and narrows into the Achilles tendon; instead, the Cortez assumes that your heel is made of glue so it can just end straight up without appropriate inward curvature. I still love my Nike Cortez and enjoy the many different color options but it took me a while to figure out why the shoes were so WEIRD.

I wanted to make these work. They are the cutest style and I purchased them in all white. I'm usually a 9.5, but sized up to a 10, and they fit best in the toe area, and still minimized my foot--which is amazing. The downsides were that they weren't cushioned much, nor had much support. That's correctable with some new inserts, but there was a bigger issue. The leather felt very thin.. almost like cardboard.. I was wondering if it was really leather, and it creased across the mid/upper area on one shoe with every step when I tried them on. This was creasing right into my foot with every step when I tried them on, and hurt! I don't think it's "fixable", and for the price they just need to be better quality and comfort right out of the box. Bummer... I loved loved loved the look.

I do normally wear an 8 and ordered an 8.5 because of reviews. They fit perfect. I'm afraid if I ordered an 8 it would be too tight in the toes.

Love the look and feel f these sneakers, they have a low key cool vibe and are not clunky looking or in feel. I’m wearing them as casual sneakers, they wouldn’t have enough support for athletic activity

Very cute, comfy,and stylish I actually wore these sneakers to wear in New York. Great fit very narrow but overall they were perfect!!!

I normally wear a size 10 in most shoes including Nike, however, I bought a men's 8 (which is a size 10 in women) in the black and white for my daughter and they were hurting my feet. My mama toe was literally at the top of the shoe. So I decided to buy the women's size 11 instead of a 10.5 and I am SO HAPPY I DID! These shoes feel and look great!

Slightly narrow but they are very comfortable. I have high arches and it's difficult for me to find a sneaker that fits.

I love these shoes, really cute and comfy. I bought them to replace a pair of white and black Nike tennis shoes that I wear all the time so they are looking a little rough these days. I wore these around the house for a few hours and they are very comfy. I have sort of wide feet and the width was great. I replaced the white laces with black because the white laces get dirty so fast. Thanks Zappos!

I ordered these shoes for my mom for Christmas. She loves them. They do run fairly small so I ordered her a size larger than she wears and they fit perfectly! The shoe looks great on her. She is in her 70’s and I was looking for a shoe that didn’t have a large, protruding sole like the ones she had been wearing and ultimately fell in by tripping over the sole. These shoes are super lightweight and perfect for my mom.

I have “Flintstone” feet and these fit my size 8 foot perfectly. I love the “Cortez” and buy them all the time.

I find that Nikes always run 1/2 small, so I sized up from my consistent 10 to a 10 1/2 which works well. My toe on my bigger foot is almost touching the end, but a size 11 would’ve been way too big-I’ll just wear these with thinner socks and I’m sure that a little natural stretching will make the fit just right. Very little arch support, but not a problem since these definitely seem more for fashion/street wear vs. working out. I have an average (M) width foot and the width seems normal to me. The leather is stiff, and creases a bit around the toe box immediately upon wear, but doesn’t detract from the overall appeal. I might purchase these in another color as well...the Cortez are stylish and I love them!

I always wear a 10 except in Nikes, I'm usually a 10.5. 10.5s were sold out so I tried the 11 - they fit perfectly. These definitely run a full size too small. They are super narrow which is perfect for my awkwardly narrow feet! I get so many compliments on them - they are so so so cool. They have tons of squish on the soles - I can stand forever and don't even notice.

If you have narrow feet then these are the shoes for you. I have narrow feet and knew that the shoes would be fine for me, and they were!! That being said, if you have wide feet these shoes are not for you. I mean, you could probably squeeze your foot in, but it wouldn’t be very comfortable. Also, I always size up a half size with Nikes and was really glad I did that here. They run a bit small.

I am always a size 9, even in Nikes which can run small. In this case the 9 was a full half size smaller and I had to get a 9.5. Other than that, awesome shoes!

Perfect for my on-the-large size, very narrow, 10 foot. Very cute + flattering fit.

I got the 6.5M in the pale ivory. Fit right out of the box, no issues. But I never have size issues w/Nike with any of their styles. Really very comfortable from the toe to the heal. But these are not exercise Nikes and they won't be as comfortable with thicker socks. These are leisure Nikes & work the best with a thin or no sock. Zappos is spot on as usual.

True to size for me. I ordered half size larger based on other reviews that it ran small, but definitely is a half size larger than my normal size.

Adorable, classic sneaker. I wear these daily. They run a little short, I am always a 7 in nike, but the 7 in this shoe, my toes were hitting the end. The 7.5 fits well length wise, a tad wide in the heel, so I have to cinch up, but my foot is on the petite/narrow side usually.

I was looking for the perfect white shoe. I wanted to love them. They have the classic look and style and would look good with jeans, dresses, and anything in between. I tried them on and felt super confident in my outfit. Unfortunately, they just weren't comfortable. I tried them on 3 different times in 3 different stores, hoping they might get more comfortable. I tried different sizes (going size up and down). However, they just were too stiff. The material felt more like plastic than leather. And they didn't have any support on the insoles. These days, sneakers have much more support, and I could immediately tell when I took these shoes off, there was a "sigh of relief" from my feet. Also, these shoes felt awkwardly tight and constricting on my feet - even though my feet are narrow. It's just too bad because these shoes are so cute, stylish, and versatile.

I ran cross country and track in high school in the 80’s and wore this shoe so I thought it might be fun to wear it again now. It is not the same shoe. Very cheaply made. The insole was too big for the shoe and rippled inside. Had to send them back. Thank you Zappos for the fast credit. You are the best!
