After reading other reviews, I'm glad I made the decision to go a half size up with these. Love that Keens have that wide toe box also. The magenta is a nice touch, not too girly but keeps them from looking too guy-ish. Can't wait to hit the trails with these!!

These do run small, order 1/2 size up. The wide toe box is great if you have to deal with bunions. The cushion in the sole makes this shoe a good choice for walking long distances on pavement, although I added a pair of gel insoles for extra comfort. Shoe is sturdy and appears to be well made.

I have Hallux Rigidus (arthritis of the big toe) and require shoes with a stiff forward sole to prevent bending at the toe. I also have a high arch and wide feet, so finding the right shoes for me is quite a challenge. The Keen Koven in wide width is a dream come true! it's rigid sole protects my big toe, and the wide width fits great. I wear them most days ell day. I just wish the wide width came in a brown color, too.

I already had a pair of Keen hiking boots, so I knew what size to get. Shoes are rather stiff but work well. I have walked miles on pavement with them, but only a few miles on dirt trails. So far, no problems

I have wide feet and struggle to find shoes that allow my pinky toe enough room. I also have flat feet and find that most shoes have either no arch support or too much arch support, which can leave me in a lot of pain. These shoes are amazing though. I'm generally fitted as a 9.5W, but these run a little short, so I bought a 10W. As for arch support, it's moderate in this shoe -- perfect for me. The soles aren't very flexible, but these shoes feel very supportive.

Purchased for my wife. She loved the arch support, but felt that the size was a bit smaller than marked - blistering her large toes. Overall, good. Would recommend ordering a 1/2 size larger than other shoes.

Like the look of this shoe, but its too wide even though it's a size Medium. I'm returning because the length on it is perfect so I know that a smaller size will likely be too short. It also seems heavier than I like.

They are comfortable but a bit too wide. I need to wear heavy socks with them to keep my heel from sliding too much. Like all Keens they are slippery when wet!

Koven is a sturdy trail shoe. Its stiff midsole is good for rough trails. The uppers have just enough give to allow the foot to slide in the shoe when walking down a steep incline. It is not a very deep shoe. It can barely accommodate both a high instep and Superfeet insoles.

These were comfortable right out of the box. And I liked the look. I am looking for a pair for an upcoming hiking trip in Arizona. Very nice wide toe box; however the size 8.5 was too short on me, while the size 9 was too roomy, and slipped in my heel. It is a very wide shoe in my opinion, I think they would work well with a pair of orthotics in place. I eded up returning them, and instead got the Voyageur size 9 which I am very happy with. I love Keen, and I love Zappos - you guys make it SO easy to find the exact pair of shoes needed for ANY occasion!

One more Keen shoe returned. The women's 11 ran to small (what else is new) so I tried the men's 10. The size seemed to fit, but as is the problem with men's shoes on women - they run to wide. This is the 4th Keen hiking shoe I have returned, as none are true to size and they all run to small. Thank you Zappos.

I love Keens and I wanted to love these shoes. I'm sad to say that even though they were marked wide, they did not feel wide. In fact, after 30 minutes in these shoes I couldn't wait to take them off. They rubbed the bone near my big toe the wrong way. I'm sad that I'd already worn them outside or I would be returning them.

This shoe didn't feel wider than Keen's regular shoes at all. Also, the insole was clearly too wide for the shoe, because it was gathered around the heel in a couple of places which made it horribly uncomfortable.

Good shoe but not for my foot issue of neuropathy. This is not as snug as I need and also my foot goes numb. It's why I chose the Arroyo II. No laces per se. My other pair also has a removable footbed.

I have worn Keen for years and have liked them a lot. Sadly, the last two I bought, including this one, have been too heavy. If it was just their weight I would not mind but I also found the Koven very loose in the heel (I do not consider my heels narrow) and I thought they were difficult to get just right when laced up - I am constantly loosening or tightening them. I am disappointed. I cannot return them because I have worn them but I do not think I will be able to wear them.

I wasn't crazy about the colors offered in the Keen women's hikers this year - spring green, violet, or teal accents, so I found these that appeared gray with red (magnet/cerise). I thought I could live with that so I ordered them. The first pair was too small, but closer to red accents. I sent them back and ordered a half size larger. The second pair was a little too big and wasn't red, but totally hot pink. They also seem a lot harder with less cushion in the sole than my last pair of Keens. I added an insole to take up the extra space and add comfort, so I'm keeping them, but I hate the pink.

Thanks to Zappos selection and purchase/exchange policies I was able to order 5 shoes all at once in order to select the one with the best fit for my needs. All were 8 W (with the exception of the Keens based on previous reviews) to accommodate bunions, neuroma, and severe pronation. I also need to use a different insole or an orthodic.
Previous reviewers recommended ordering a half size up in this shoe, which I did, ordering an 8 1/2 wide. The amount of room in the toe box felt great, allowing me to completely move my toes both apart and up. However, the width runs though-out the shoe, making the heel too loose. The shoe, while stiff, did not provide any arch support and little cushioning. If this shoe had been my only choice I may have tried a regular width, but I found that the Merrill Moab met my needs.

I am very disappointed. These Keens feel like plastic and are hard compared to the ones that I have had in the past. It feels like I picked them up at a discount store. I generally take a 8M but in Keens an 8½. However these were too short and they did not fit to my feet. They felt very boxy.

I think this shoe runs small. I am returning for a size larger. Made the top of my second toe bleed after wearing for an hour or so. Will give the another try.

I wore Keens years ago...by far the best shoes for my very wide feet. I've been purchasing an inexpensive low hiking style boot of poor quality...so, thought it time to spend more money on a pair of Keens. These are solidly made, and I like the look...but are not the Keens of old! I ordered a wide, although I used to just buy the regular Keen and they fit perfectly...I should have just returned these the first time I put them on. Even the wide, are much narrower than in the past. What happened to all that wonderful "wiggle room" in the toe? I continued to wear, hoping they would break in...but, they hurt so much, I fear I must give them to the local charitable thrift store. I am so sad.

Disappointing. I always buy Keen for the gym and every day. If I have sneakers on my feet, you can bet they are by Keen. That is until this pair. I couldn't understand why the top of my foot was sore and red after a few trips to the gym. On running hand inside the shoe, I found the tongue on each shoe to be stitched minimally resulting the a large flap of the tongue unstitched and rubbing against the top of my foot with each step. On repeating this move with my previous Keens, the inside is smoothly covered with nothing to rub on my foot. I will return these as a manufacturing defect. I will continue to buy Keens but check them inside and out to avoid any possible injury.
