Great comfortable and stylish boot. I ordered this along with Frye Cavalry Strap 8L and Michael Kors Robin in black. Went with this due to extreme comfort. Plus, unlike most mid-calf boots that have that stovepipe look, this one is slim through the ankle and follows the shape of my leg. I do have large (17"+) calves so can't tuck jeans in but can wear hose, tights and leggings as well as under boot cut or flared jeans. I'll get the Michael Kors in walnut but this will be my go-to in black. Thank you Zappos!

Love, love, love this boot. It is a great combination of distressed and going out appropriate. Kinda boyish, with a casual relaxed vibe. I ordered the Oak color and it is a brown with a slight orange cast. Ordered a ½ size larger than normal and perfect!

These are not for narrow calves. I love these boots, but I could not keep them because the shaft is too wide for my ultra narrows calves. The shaft has about the diameter as my western boots. I did not expect that because these boots have a zipper, but it's useless for me as I can easily put them on and remove them without the zipper. They fit true to size in the footbed and are very comfortable. Every boot I own is a US 8½M (medium width). And these fit very well and are very comfortable. They have a nice plush cushy insole. Not a lot of arch support but not super flat like Frye Boots. They seem to be good quality all around. My calves are about 13" around at the widest point when flexed (although these boots do not reach that point in my leg).

These boots work well with casual attire. I love the length! (mid-calf) and the great support. The front strap took part of a day to feel right while stepping down stairs. These will be my go to in the winter!

This is a great boot, and I agree with others that the chocolate is more reddish than brownish. The oak is a nice color and I like the darker detail on the heel. I usually wear a 9ish, ordered a 10 and they feel roomy enough that I can wear a normal weight sock when the weather goes cold. It's not the cheapest boot out there, but it looks and feels very good.

Zappos delivers as usual. These Merrell boots are perfect. They fit awesomely right out of the box. They are an excellent value for the price. I love the workmanship down to the rough out effect on the back above the heel so you will not scuff them up driving, etc. I am well pleased!

Love these boots! Fit perfect! I can wear them all day long and be comfortable. I live in snow country so sole is non slip and heel not too high. Fun & stylish!

Comfortable, well made boot. It is true that "chocolate brown" has a very reddish cast; it is on the cordovan side (remember that color?) and definitely not a pure brown. I wore it with a short dress/tunic and brown leggings and got compliments.

I bought the black boot and LOVE it. They were snug when I first put them on but now after on wearing day they fit perfect and are super comfortable. I like the mid calf height. I found it fit over skinny jeans but think they look great with leggings/tights also. I agree with another reviewer that the ankle is formed so the look has a really nice profile - no bunching/slouching.

I purchased the chocolate brown, and they just arrived today...they look BURGUNDY! They should not be called "brown" because they're more like a maroon reddish color. They won't go with anything, I was looking for a nice rustic brown. Will have to try Oak. The leather is soft and supple, all the way down to the toe. Buckles nicely done, not shiny, more like a flat silver, which goes more with a rustic type boot. The foot bed is what was most important to me...I have an arch and wow so many shoes and boots are made for flat footed women. This has a nice memory foam, cushioned footbed that is very comfortable. I want to see if my arches hurt before I reorder a different color boot, so I'll wear them around the house for the next hour and see how that goes. So far it feels like a bit of a cushion under my arch, so that's a good sign. These are quality boots, I really like them so far, just the color is off. Very comfortable, and worth the price. They'll last for years.

These are great quality made boots. They run true to size. Beautiful quality leather. They are a great height and allover style. I really love them. They are super comfortable from the first wearing and quality craftsmanship. I am happy with them and I am very picky. I know that they will get better and better with wear, as I like the broken in look. I highly recommend them.

Nice boots. Receive lots of compliments. Not the most comfortable, but not bad either. I have very sensitive feet, and my toes are relatively short, so I'm hard to please. I'm a 7.5-8, and needed a 7.5.

I absolutely love these boots and they actually fit without gaping around my legs. They are the perfect height between ankle and full. They are so cute but unfortunately not comfortable. They hurt when wearing them for extended hours and I wanted them to be my all day boots. No can do but if that does not concern you, the Oak is the perfect color, super cute. They need a breaking in period. They seem super stiff in front at first but wear them inside a few hours and they break right in. I am so bummed that they are not comfortable.

Thought they looked great in the picture, but not as much in person. Gapped a bit wide at the top, and on the heel it looked like a piece of canvas was just glued on, and the rough edge just left. Ended up sending back since I didn't love them.

Love this boot but the height of the shaft is really weird, must be made for short people...since I am 5'11 and found it oddly short and wide at the top (missed my calf by 3 inches). Too low to wear with a dress and too gapingly wide to wear with jeans. I think I will order the lower version because it I loved everything else about the boot.

This are so pretty, I am very sorry that I have to send them back. I tried the 8.5 and they were sloppy in the ankle and heel so I tried an 8. The 8 is very narrow/tight in the toes, but still the ankle and heel are loose... it's just not shaped like my foot, sadly.
