I have no idea how I managed to spend most of my life in upstate NY without owning proper adult winter boots, but I ordered these just in time for the blizzard to hit Baltimore last weekend. Amazing. They're not the prettiest boot, but they kept my feet toasty and dry through hours of shoveling. Super comfy and supportive while walking through snow, and excellent traction on the inevitable patches of ice. Best money I've ever spent on a boot! They feel a little bulky and almost ski-boot like for walking on dry pavement and sidewalks but for surviving winter weather, they are absolutely perfect. I can't believe I waited this long to get a nice, practical, sturdy boot. Bonus: they fit great with snowshoes, too! Already looking forward to another snowfall so I can wear them again. Otherwise, I might have to move to a colder climate!

I bought these to replace a pair I purchased over 40 years ago. I have used these when snow blowing and shoveling. I was very happy to see they still make the same style I had, but these are a bit heavier than my old ones and taller. They will give me a lot of grip when cleaning my porch & taking my garbage out. These are perfect and I don’t have to worry about falling.

Finally I have found a true bad weather snow boot! You are not going to win a fashion show with these but they are weatherproof, warm and come just under knee for a nice tall fit on calf. No snow will be getting in these since there is a toggle cord closure to make it as tight or loose as you want. Also, with the bootlace at ankle area, it really keeps these boots stay tight on your foot by tightening the laces so there is no heel slippage. I am normally a 9 1/2 but got a 10 in these since I want extra space for thick socks and my cushy footbed insert that I put in all my shoes and boots. Without my insert, I would say these aren’t very soft/cushy underfoot. They aren’t as heavy as I thought they would be but I don’t mind my winter boots having some weight and substance to them. I am a dog walker and my feet are constantly getting stepped on by all the dogs,so I appreciate a wide and roomy toe box area that is quite stiff so I don’t feel anything when this happens. Also, for being a size 10 in these boots, I don’t feel they look massive on my feet like the fancier Sorel boots. This is the perfect true snow boot for working, playing, or just having fun in the snow!

Great boots! Ordered these the day before the 2016 blizzard and received them before we had our first 2'' on the ground! Perfect for dealing with 22''+ of snow! Only complaint is the laces tend to untie if they're not tied tight enough but easy to correct! Wish I had bought these years ago! Kept my feet warm and dry! Having the pull cord around the top really helped with our deep snow. Great price and excellent delivery!

I found the foot length too short, even with thin socks. The top of the boot (mid calf) is absurdly wide. I’m not certain who would wear this boot. The insulation was not particularly good. It certainly wouldn’t work at -40C. All in all, a disappointment.

In the middle of the blizzard of 2016. These boots arrived just in time. I cannot say enough good things about these boots. I have been outside for more than 1½ hours and feet are warm. The footbed is spacious. I do not feel they are all that heavy for the type of boot they are made to be. Yes, they are a real snow boot. I also do not feel they are all that clunky for the type of boot. If you are going to be in deep snow, this is the type of boot needed, so you can plow right through. Love Sorel. I tried the JOA boot but felt right through the sole of the boot.

The snowlions are not as apocalyptic as the glaciers... that’s good for me. I am an8 and ordered them, but My right toes touch without socks on, so they too little... They weigh less than the glaciers, but they are still stompers. I love the liners in both boots. Some kind of reflective heat barrier. Warm is fun.

I love my Sorels but they don't keep my feet warm in the snow- this pair (snowlion) were warm from the moment I put them on through 3 hours of shoveling in 10 degree weather. Also good for walking through high snow and ice. Would definitely recommend for New England winters.

Clunky? Yes. But super warm, comfortable, and easy to get on and off. Looking forward to more shoveling and snow play in Minneapolis with my kids this winter now that I have proper snow boots!

I bought these boots for a trip to the Harbin Ice Festival in China. With temperatures down to -15F, I needed super warm boots, and these were perfect. Yes, they are a bit heavy (what do you expect?) but I was walking around all day and evening without any problem. I did have to put heat-packs both under and on top of my toes, but like I said, the weather was EXTREMELY cold, and I was outside all day and evening, so I needed to add as much warmth as possible. The only problem I had was the elastic drawstring on the top did start to rub a sore spot/bruise into my shin after a couple days, but I suspect maybe if my pants were padded more this may not have happened. They are also super easy to slip into and tighten, which I loved. Overall, a GREAT boot for extreme cold. I definitely recommend!

I'm loving my boots. They've kept me warm and dry this winter and I look forward to many more to come. They are a little clunky to drive a stick shift but I've figured it out. A toe warmer helped when I was out in 10 degrees and dropping weather for more than 8 hours.

I have had my snow lions for 20+ years. Just love them. Time for a new pair. Not because they wore out, but because they are white and are absolutely filthy and look awful. I wish they came in colors. I live in Boston, and there hasn't been a winter that has gone by that I haven't worn them. Well worth the money!! Fit great, warm, the best!!

I've owned Sorels for years - my old pair weren't keepimg my feet warm anymore (they were about 5 years old). I ordered these along with the glaciers - I returned the glaciers because they were way too heavy. I got to test these in the snow yesterday and I love them - my feet were dry and toasty warm. Would have preferred them in black but they weren't acvailavle. It took me awhile to get them on and then I realized you have to remove the liner and put them on separately. I considered downgrading them a star for this but since I can get a replaceable liner rather than a new pair of boots it's well worth the inconvenience.

This boots would be great if you plan to walk in heavy snow. They seemed like they would be sturdy and very warm. They were also very comfortable when I tried them on. But, I found them to be too bulky and heavy.

A bit clunky, but am keeping them for the wide toe box and ability to keep snow out! I didn't like them until I tightened the laces at the bottom - keeping an eye on them since they like to untie on their own.

I am replacing what I assume is the same pair of Sorel boots I bought 25 years ago. These boots fit well, were extremely warm, but wouldn't fit with my snow shoes. The hunt continues.

Love these boots! They are very durable, perfect for playing in the snow. They look great with white winter jacket. Sizing is a little problem. I wish they would make half-size. I normally wear size 8, but 8 was little small and 9 was little big. 8.5 would have been perfect. So I am keeping 9 and will wear it with a thick sock.

These boots fit to my wide bunion feet perfectly and very comfortable standing still. Once I tried to walk, oh my God, the boots are so heavy. I cannot see myself walking any reasonable distance with these heavy boots. I will be straggling maybe after 5 minutes of walking so I decided to return them.

Tried the 12, then the 11, which is my size. 12 too big and clunky, 11 too small. Now this was with regular socks. The height was nice to cove the calf, but too clunky again with snow pants. Went with the men's Sorel Bear XT in size 9. When will the shoe maker's realize that 11.5 is a size? I always have to buy mens shoes. Sincerly, Sasquatch

The boots fit, but on the roomy side, allowing for thicker socks. They are very wide/puffy around the calves, making them look like moon boots or marshmallow boots. I'd be happy to wear them for shoveling, but not walking around. Not as sleek looking as some other Sorel models.

The best boot for heavy winter conditions hands down. You may not want to wear them in 2"of snow but when the s**t hits the fan, these are the boots i reach for. Comfortable, warm, water proof, great traction, high enough to handle deep snow & drifts. Ive had mine about 5 yrs now & they're still going strong. Come on Old Man Winter, i'm ready for you!!!
