I have Raynaud's syndrome where I lose blood circulation in my hands and feet due to cold temperatures and my hands and feet will get extremely cold and sometimes even go numb. I need the warmest hand and feet protection during the winter. I purchased these boots in November 2018 and have taken them on several ice fishing trips. I am so happy I made the purchase. My feet stayed warm in -15 degree Fahrenheit weather; something that rarely happens. The boots are also comfortable to wear throughout the day. They have excellent insulation and because of it, the boots fit a bit snug even when I purchased a size bigger than my shoe size. I usually buy a size up in boots to wear extra socks but with these boots I don't need to. Thanks Sorel for making a great pair of boot.

The Sorel Glacier XT boots are comfortable, very warm boots. However, I find fault with the fact that there is not enough room in the calf area. I am short, 5'1" and wear a large in clothing, so this makes the boots hard to get on and off. If you have long skinny legs, you are good! I purchased my normal shoe size, 9, (same size that my old Sorels were), and had to exchange them for a 10. So I would say they also run small. These boots are also bulky. I would not wear them out if I had any amount of walking to do. They are great for cleanup after a deep snow. I took of a star for comfort because of the tightness in the calf, and a star off on style for the bulky nature of the boots. But overall, I am very happy with these boots.

I wear a 10.5 or 11 US size. Size 13 in Glacier was perfect when considering wool socks and liner. I have extra wide feet - and the Glacier had plenty of room for my foot. But the absolute best quality of this boot? It is great for anyone with high or extra high arches! Fantastic! Where has this boot been all my life? If you have high arches, this is your boot, no questions asked. In any other boot with high arches, you'll have to get a boot that is 3 sizes too big in order to get your foot in the boot.

I've gone through two other pair of boots this winter (I live in New England so it's been cold!). I returned both previous pair because my feet were freezing despite the ratings of below zero warmth. After much research I purchased these boots. I probably would have purchased the Snowlion instead based on others reviews but black wasn't available. Although I'm returning these because they are too small (will exchange for one size larger). I think these boots are amazing! Yes, they are a bit bulky; however, I'm not trying to win any fashion contest when I'm out shoveling or trudging through 7 feet of snow! I've traded my L.L. Bean and Merrell boots for these...being warm is fashionable!

These boots are clunky, as stated in other reviews. They do seem incredibly warm, however. I ordered the Snow Lions as well, to compare, and I like those better-not so Frankenstein-ish. They tun true to size. These have such a large toe box I do not think that they would fit in my snowshoes. The snow lions are a bit cuter, not so deep/big in the toe/foot.

I have looked long and hard for a boot for a female where my feet don't get cold. Finally found it! I've been ice fishing in -25 degrees I windshield for hours and my feet never got cold. The boots run about a size small due to thick lining. Boot is comfortable to wear and walk for extended time. It's a little bulky but that's necessary for good cold protection. I'm in love with these!

These boots are pretty much amazing. I have a dog who loves to play outside in the New York cold and snow for hours on end. I was forever coming inside with cold feet and wet pant legs. Not any more! My feet are really warm and dry and the boots are super easy to slip on and off.
My only semi-complaint is that I have trouble keeping my socks on while walking in these boots. They tend to get pulled off and bunch up in the toe area, but honestly they're so warm I just stopped wearing socks and problem solved..
These boots are big and clunky and if you're doing a lot of walking they may not be what you're looking for-- but if you're looking for something reliable that's going to keep your feet warm in 5 feet of snow and -30 degree wind chills these are absolutely what you want!

Fabulous! I am a gardener at a Midwest university; however, I am required to shovel steps usually for the whole 7.5 shift. I love these boots! A few of my co-workers are thinking of purchasing them and the others are just jealous! I will never wear anything else. They are totally warm, easy to wear and run true to size. They are so warm I don't even need socks!

My feet were injured as a child when I was caught in a blizzard. Since the frost bite I get super cold and I can not tolerate even 40 degrees. These boots are everything and I can got out without socks in 0 degree weather with no issue for even 2hrs in the snow. These boots are life changing and the best thing I have bought. They are better than indoor plumbing!!

I purchased these hoping they would keep my feet warm when ice fishing. I have Raynaud's Syndrome so keeping my toes from freezing is very difficult. They are the warmest boots I've ever worn! Definitely recommend!

I live in New England & for the extreme cold (below zero) we just had & all the snow these boots were awesome!! I am a women's 10 in dress shoes & 11 in running sneakers & I loved my Joan of Arctic boots (I got in a size 11 to wear with thick socks). I've worn the Joan's for 10+ years but in all the snow & ice my feet weren't as warm as I wished taking my dog out & walking (but they looked good). So by the time I ordered these they only had a women's size 12 left. (?!?!? What should I do?!??). I noticed one review said she was an 8 & ordered a 10 (I thought oh no .. some people said were true to size - runs a lil small). I wanted them for the upcoming storm & my birthday so I ordered them. When I took them out of the box I said Holy moly these are huge!!! But.. I tried them on with my cabin socks & I couldn't believe it they fit!! The insulation is so thick they fit. I have a little wiggle room in the toes but not much. You can tie them tighter which I haven't done & walked in a foot of snow with them & the boots stayed on.. I am in love!! Maybe if they had an 11.5 I would of tried but I will not exchange for an 11 because I'm sure my toes would touch the end. I hold the insulation with the boot & my foot just slides in no problems. I've had no problems taking them off either. As for the ice I find these very helpful. I haven't slipped & I tried them on different icy areas (but for heavy ice I would prob get ice traxx) but for me.. my new favorite snow boots!! Bring on the snow!! However I think my dog is done with it!! BOL.. Bark out loud

I just purchased these to replace my Joan of Arch boots for snowmobiling and I am so glad I did, for the first time ever, my feet and toes were not cold, even in sub zero temps. I use to need wool socks, freezer bags and warmers in my boots and now I only need a pair of socks, this makes me so happy on the trail! I'm normally a size 8, but I had to size up to a 9 (the 8 didn't leave enough wiggle room for my toes).

I bought this almost same boot from you years ago and loved it well you did not let me down. I can walk in the cold and deep snow and my feet stay warm. (and do not hurt) The very first time I had difficulty getting them on (stiff) . Walked around in them for 30 minutes and the fit is perfect and easy application and removal

I have had a hard time finding boots that keep my feet warm in winter. These are very heavy but well padded on the footbed and also the shaft. I ordered a size up as they don't come in a half size and my previous Sorel's size was too small. The liner inside isn't quite as tall as the boot so I have to be careful when putting them on because my foot can easily push the top down into the boot. Overall, it has performed well in the last couple of weeks of a cold Wyoming winter. I hope it lasts at least 2 winters as they are a bit pricey.

These boots are what they claim to be--warm, tall, bulky winter boots. My job has be standing outside in all temperatures and caring for horses in cold, snowy weather. These boots have been fabulous from day one at keeping me warm and dry in deep snow and cold temps. They are bulky, but that is the price to pay for warmth. While bulky, they are not unduly heavy, so you don't really notice them when standing and walking. They are beasts to drive in, so pack extra shoes or be sure to move your foot further between gas and brake pedals.

I bought these bad boys for ice fishing. My feet are always cold no matter what I wear on my feet. No more cold feet with these! I wear a light pair of socks and can be outside all day with my hubby and not complain once that my toes are numb. Best investment for winter outdoor activities. I'm usually a size 8, but I purchased a size 10. They fit fine. Enough room to wear a heavier sock if you want to.

I bought these a month ago. I live in Minnesota. They are great to go through snow and are so warm. I love toasty feet. On a 30 degree day they may be too warm if you don't like toasty feet.

Purchased for my wife. Ordering size 8 when she is size 7 was a fantastic recommendation. These boots fit her perfectly. Her feet are always warm now when we snowshoe or have outdoor activities.

Why is this the best boot ever? Because it goes through snow, mud, streams, grabs onto rocks and slippery leaves, keeps your feet warm in the cold and comfortable in the heat. Even the insert is breathable. They will not, however, grab onto big ice patches - you need spikes when crossing over pure ice. I will use them year round because of their comfort and utility in all conditions.

These boots are amazeballs! So comfy, warm, ride higher on the calf, yes the base foot isn't petite, but they do the job I need them to do. I've had compliments from men and women, "Nice boots!" They do look cute in a cold winter way with yoga pants tucked in them because of how high they are, and jeans !

So I am normally size 6 in boots. With Sorel, I size up so I buy size 7 for all my Sorel boots (I've hat the Yoot Pac and the Out-N-About) ... I was nervous but luckily these arrived and the size 7 fits well. Even with thick wool socks. They are big and "clunky" but to be expected for this style of boot. I am concerned about being able to safely drive with them. I have driven with the Yoot Pac, and those are about the same size in terms of footprint. They seem warm and I am glad I went with the Glacier XT over the Snowlion XT which I was debating for a long time between the two. Decided to go with the warmer ones. Won't regret it once it's super cold here. The drawstring seems to loosen up easily and I'm not sure how well-made this piece is so I'm careful as I pull the drawstring closed. Overall, I am happy with how they look and feel and fit. I will post another review once actually using them IN snowy conditions so I can talk about the traction, warmth, and ability to drive safely!
