Needed a pair or boots for mucking about the land in extreme cold weather and snow...to fill the bird feeders, shovel path to barn/garage, take household garbage down the driveway to the bin. Because of the felt liner, it is impossible to get my foot into these wearing any sock except Nouvella's very thin, cotton/nylon/spandex knee-highs. I did go out briefly one morning in minus temps without socks at all and my feet stayed warm. I ordered an 8.5, my usual size. Plenty of toe room. Heel fits fine. They are easy to lace and un-lace. Pants legs fit easily inside top of boot...even flannel-lined jeans! They are clunky to walk in. I move slower than usual in them but feel well balanced. They kept my feet warm for the 30 minutes I was out in them one morning this week in 9 degree weather. They seem to be serving their purpose.

This is an update to my 11/15/14 review. I've discovered I can put on a pair of thick'ish cotton crew socks and get my foot into the felt liners in these boots. I've also discovered that it's become easily to get these boots on...guess getting into them takes practice. I've been outdoors as long as a hour in these and my feet have remained warm. As in previous review, I love how easy it is to lace and unlace these boots. They are clunky. And my socks usually pull off when I remove the boots, but darn it...they keep my feet warm and dry.

The best winter boot I've ever owned! I have long skinny feet and plantar fasciitis so it's extremely hard for me to find shoes that work for me let alone a winter boot but I think this is it! I normally wear an 11 1/2 but got the 11 in these based on other reviews and it is a perfect fit. Plus they are super stylish which is a total bonus! I live in New England and wore them for our first big storm and they were great- good traction, feet stayed warm and dry and they didn't hurt my back or my heels!

These boots are so comfortable and warm. I'm a hockey mom and wear these in the rink when it's super cold and never have cold toes.

I was a bit nervous spending what I did on these boots, however, I’m happy I did! They arrived so quickly, and just in time for a snow storm! They fit true to size. My stats: shoe 8.5, pant/calf size 10/12 pant. These boots are waterproof, have laces, are rubber lowers and a waterproof fabric top. They come with fleece inserts that your feet slide into. I ordered my true size because many reviews indicated they ran larger and to go down 1/2 size. I wanted additional room for heavy socks, not realizing how warm they would be. I’m glad I ordered my true size because they are so warm; I’ll never wear thick socks with these. I’ve actually worn ankle socks or have even gone barefoot (with warm feet!). I really like the fleece insert. Although I haven’t had to yet, they could be removed and washed! They do loosen up, as one would expect after wearing them a couple times. There were reviews that indicated they were tight and hard to get their feet in and out. I didn’t have this issue, but I will say they did loosen up a bit. I also loosen my shoe laces so am unsure what it would be like to get in/out with tied laces. There were reviews about the plastic/rubber piece that sticks into your ankle. I did note this the first couple times I wore them (to and from work only~2 hrs each time). It never caused a blister, etc. and I now do not note it. In addition to them being super warm, they are also waterproof. I was worried with the shoe laces, water would somehow get in... nope! I’ve actually warn them on cold rainy days. Yes, I’ve walked in puddles. Feet stayed dry! They are a bit clunky but you can tell this even by the pictures. They are heavier than my previous (cheap) pair of snow boots but not too heavy. They even look cute with leggings/ankle. I’d say they are stylish fit a snow boot. I have worn them out and about with jeggings tucked in with a winter vest and cute scarf. I’ve even received many compliments on them. I’d say for snow boots, they are stylish. I would purchase these again in another color but for now, olive green it is!

I purchased and returned several pairs of boots before finally sucking it up and spending the money on Sorels. My old pair of Sorels are approximately 25 years old and still in decent condition if you can believe that! But they're brown and I've always wanted a pair of black or grey ones to go with other outfits in the harsh winter months so I purchased these new ones in Pewter/Black/Metal Crush. I put them on and planned on wearing them around the house for a few minutes to make sure they fit well. THREE HOURS later I forgot they were one because they're as comfortable as my house slippers! You cannot go wrong with Sorels. Oh and here's a bit of advice about how awesome Zappos is...I found the exact same style, color and size on another merchant's website whose name I won't mention (also free shipping and returns), but the price was about 40 dollars less so I called customer support and they checked the site I mentioned and immediately gave me the same price. I had to purchase first at the higher price, but when the shipping notification came the price was the correct one to charge to me. Zappos every time, People!

I actually ordered this boot for my son because it looks unisex and youth size 7 is too small yet men's size 7 is too big in some brands. His feet are also wide. The size 9 was a little narrow on him. In addition, the nylon upper made noise as he walked and the boot felt too flat. Ironically, we finally found a men's Columbia Bugaboot Plus IV Omni-Heat Wide 7.5W that fit well and had a roomy toe box. Thank goodness for zappos because we tried about 6 different boots until we found the right fit!

I agree with the other reviews that these boots are kind of "clunky." I have big feet anyway and these definitely don't make them look more petite, but I didn't buy them for fashion purposes really. They are SO WARM. I live in Upstate New York and have a 100-yard-long driveway I have to clear in the winter. I can wear these with thin cotton socks (instead of wool socks) and my feet never get cold. They're also good in the snow in terms of slipping. I am typically in between a size 8.5-9 and I opted for the 8.5 and they fit great. I probably could've squeezed into an 8 but didn't want to sacrifice comfort for a smaller shoe.

I LOVE these boots! I would recommend wearing thick socks with them until they are broken in for your arches, but they are amazing!!

I had been wearing uggs to get through my Chicago winters and after my last pair ripped I decided it was time to reconsider. I honestly don't know what I was thinking. These boots are amazing. I can wear them in the snow, rain, and bitter cold. They are very comfortable. My only complaint is that they can be a bit hard to take off as the insert sometimes comes out with my foot. Maybe that will change as I keep wearing them.

These are cute and fairly comfortable but the weird part is that there is a big gap in the front where the white fur part doesn't meet together. Maybe if you have very small calves this might work? Otherwise I feel like the snow would just go in the front.

I feel bad giving these such a low rating but they're just terribly uncomfortable. The lack of support in the fabric around the ankles makes the rubber strip in the back dig into your achilles tendon. They seem to be pretty waterproof and warm, but once I got done shoveling in them I couldn't wait to take them off. I'm not sure what's worse; being uncomfortable from cold wet feet or a shoe digging into them. I wouldn't be so bothered but these are pretty expensive shoes to be anything less than 5 stars.

I love these sorels! So cute. Great for the snow. The one thing to point out is they run super big/wide. I would order at least a half size smaller and plan to wear with thick socks.

I have wider feet and these fit great! I'm normally a 7.5 so I ordered an 8 which gave me room for thick socks. They are also really cute on and comfy.

I love these boots. Warm and comfortable. My feet are very susceptible to blisters which makes buying shoes and boots online frustrating at times but I'm never disappointed by Sorel and have several pairs. My normal size is 6.5 and there is plenty of room for a thick pair of socks so if you don't want that order a size down.

A Minnesotan tall girl (6'0) perspective - I typically wear an 11 or 11.5 shoe, so I ordered a 12 to allow room for thick winter socks. Plus, I've tried 11 boots in Sorel and they're a tight 11 and unfortunately, Sorel doesn't make 11.5 a size option. A 12 is truly quite comfortable as well as functional - no raised heel to slip on the ice and break an ankle. I really appreciate the wide toe box, since my poor summer toes that are used to being free are now confined to a shoe. This is a pretty straight forward winter boot that I fully expect to live up to the description. I haven't used them yet, but I'll update my review if there are any issues like slippery rubber sole, not warm enough, or not actually waterproof. The only part of this boot I'm slightly concerned about is that the tongue has no insulation, but is layered (on the inside) with a waterproof lining. Must wear with taller, thicker, warm socks. They rise about low/mid calf, which is good for quick on/off. If I'm really trekking through some deep drifts, I'll probably add gators or snow pants on top of them.
I'd also recommend:
Kodiak, Red Wing, Frye, Oboz, Baffin.

These boots run HUGE! I normally wear between a size 9.5 and a 10 so I originally ordered a 9.5. I tried them on and couldn't believe how large they were on my feet! I ended up exchanging it for a size 8.5. They fit much better now. Still not 100% sure I will keep them yet. I wanted a high quality, stylish and warm pair of boots and definitely feel like you get all of that with these boots. However, not sure it's a perfect fit as my one foot is slightly larger than the other. I am also concerned that I will get annoyed that the liner lifts up every time I take the boots off. Not sure that is a deal breaker though. Hoping I can give this boot a 5 star after wearing it more.

Cannot beat Sorel for a winter boot. I know they hold up and keep my feet warm and dry when I am out shoveling snow, etc.... I have many different styles, love them!
I'd also recommend:
When it comes to a winter boot, always Sorel. I do like the Merrel jungle mocs, but not for snow.

Let me start by saying I wear a women's size 8.5 WIDE in regular shoes. I ordered these boots in an 8.5 regular (medium) width and they fit perfectly. The tongue of the boot is attached to the upper so no water or snow can get in. The upper is very flexible and comfortable. I like that the insulated liner is completely removable for drying and cleaning purposes.

Warm and cute snow boot. The fit was definitely larger, as other reviewers mentioned, so I sized a whole size smaller on it and the fit was perfect. I’m usually wear a size 7 so I ordered a size 6 and it was great. I also ordered a size 6.5 to compare and the 6 was better.
