I wanted something that I could slip on and off while taking things out to the garbage in the snow (I live in an apartment building), an easy but warm slip on and off for yoga classes in the winter (don't want to have to fiddle with socks at the studio), and something to wear when I'm walking across campus (yes, I know) when I don't feel like lugging on my winter boots (I do change into shoes once I get into my office.). However, I didn't want to get a pair of Uggs since everyone and their cousins have them. Let me say this boot is very well constructed. It seems a lot thicker and sturdier than Uggs. It runs big - I should not have paid attention to reviews. I usually take a size 7.5, and I got an 8. It feels very large, but there are two options I have: 1) I tried them on with a thick sock (which I didn't want to have to do) and they fit great. Very warm! Please note the inside is more of a soft suede than a fleece - it is nice, soft, but not thick. In comes option 2) I had purchased a pair of Ugg insoles, and they fit - I put my foot in sans sock and wow. Perfection! The insole helps to fill up some room. I may still need a sock once the insoles flatten down. I'm giving it 4 stars for a personal reason - I wanted something to be able to wear without socks. I may not be able to do it with this shoe, but we will see. I have a pair of Uggs on order, but I'd rather keep these. So, if you want a warm shoe you can simply fit your foot into without a sock, but you don't want Uggs, I recommend this shoe, but with an Ugg insole. Sorry, you just can't beat sheepskin. The heel is also very wide - I have a wide toe box, but not wide heels, and my heels slip a little. If you have narrow feet, without warm and heavy socks, this shoe may not be for you. As for warmth, well, I don't know how warm they would be - they would probably handle the same weather as a pair of Uggs - think, walking to and from store to car then home again in the snow, from car to class then back to car, but definitely not walking your dog around the block in snow or heading to the park to build a snowman. I'd say they would be good for a mild to cold winter day, but definitely not the Polar Vortex days.

I am absolutely in love with these boots! They are extremely stylish and very comfortable. I debated between the peatmoss and madder brown but ended up getting the brown and just love the unique color. I am a size 10 but usually wear a size 9.5 in a boot, so I purchased the 9.5 and they fit perfectly. These are much more comfortable and better-fitting than my Uggs. I live in Wisconsin and we get a lot of snow and bitter cold. My only reason for a 4 star rating instead of 5 is that I think they may not perform as well as Uggs in heavy snow or extreme cold. The lining is very soft and warm enough however, there is a gap right between the suede and quilted fabric area right beneath the buckle. The two different pieces of fabric are not sewn together here and you can stick you finger in between straight through to your ankle area. I think in deep snow conditions, some snow could potentially sneak in here. I will keep them and wear them indoors at home, on the drive to and from work, as well as in drier cold outdoor conditions. The description says water resistant but I will still spray to protect the beautiful fabric from the elements and will save my Uggs for the heavier snow conditions. Although we have not yet had sufficient cold to test out the warmth, I think they should be nice and warm. The felt fleece lining feels like butter!

Love these boots!! Many reviewers said they ran big, I ordered half size smaller and they were too small! Ran true to size for me. Style-wise An AWESOME alternative to Uggs which is what I was looking for ...have not worn in cold yet, so hopefully they will be just as warm.

Although this boot has just about everything going for with it's style, color and quality, I am going to return it. I wear a size 6 and have a narrow foot and heel. They fit me true to size, but unfortunately my narrow heel kept slipping in the back. Also, they are somewhat hard to put on, with the side buckle being more for show, not easy to adjust. I like a good arch support and these were offering just moderate support. So sad these adorable boots did not work out!

So happy to find these! A stylish, lighter alternative to my heavy Sorel Joan of Arctic boots (which I do love!) - perfect for day to day errands, wearing to/from the office. Not sure if they would do well in extreme cold, but they are exactly what I needed, highly recommend.

I love these boots! They are true to size in my opinion. I wear 7½ and got a 7½, and I wear socks with them. They were a little hard to put on at first as the strap/buckle is not easy to adjust. But the fabric has relaxed a little and they are perfect. I love the look and even though they do not offer much arch support, they are still very comfortable. They are a great alternative to Uggs! I would definitely recommend them!

I have had these for a month now and really like them. They are super warm, ok in rain (if it is really pouring I wear my Hunter boots, otherwise these are fine, though I did do a spray protectant immediately after purchasing), look cute, and are comfortable enough. However I would like to echo previous reviews: They are a pain to get on and off. They have not stretched out after a month. Sometimes are easier than others but I have not discovered a trick yet. I did not have the time to order two pairs and send one back that did not fit as I was traveling. I am usually a 7 or a 7½ depending on the brand; in boots I like to get the bigger size so I can wear thicker socks if need be. Here I got a 7 based on all the reviews that they run big. They are fine with regular ankle socks but I would not be able to wear thicker (or even athletic) socks with them, not that I would need to since these boots are so warm. They were tight at first and I was worried I ordered the wrong size but after the first time wearing them they are fine. However I wonder if they would have been easier to get on if I had gotten the 7½ and I wish that I would have been able to compare. So if you are hesitating between two sizes I would definitely order both sizes to try, which luckily Zappos makes easy. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase!

The boots are very comfortable. I put in an insert for enter arch support and wear a heavy sock for better fit and comfort. Color is true and nice. Zappos never disappoints me Fast delivery at no additional expense. Had them in two days. I believe they are more comfortable and better made than my aughts.

These are the most comfortable boots! They are so soft and warm on the inside. I have very high arches and have to use an insole for support and still have plenty of room. It is like walking on a cloud. So glad I made the purchase.

Love, love, love these boots!!! So soft and comfortable. My heel does slip a small amount, but I have pretty narrow feet. The slippage does not bother me, but you could put a sheepskin insert in if you wanted. These are my go to boots for running errands, they keep my feet toasty warm, even in our harsh Midwest winters.

Love these boots! I ordered same size I always wear and they fit great. I immediately sprayed them with waterproofing because my sister bought the grey pair and she has scrubbed them several times already.

These boots are terrific: very comfortable, right out of the box, stylish, and go well with everything, especially jeans and leggings. I put them on when they arrived and wore them walking all over in Whistler, British Columbia. This was an excellent purchase!

I have the hardest time finding a boot. I have a wider toe box and smaller heel. And I don't do socks. I have tried sooooo many UGGS and returned them because the lining is so inconsistent and tried the Laid-back London which are similar and had the same issue. The toe box was full of lining where the heel had nothing or vice versa. These are nothing like that. The lining is consistent though out and feel much better than any UGG I've ever tried on. Also they do not look as clunky as an UGG. I normally wear EU40/US9 and found these to be true to size. There is room for a sock but they feel great without a sock also. I have two dogs and there is no time for socks in the morning. These can be slipped on in seconds. Also the shaft is adjustable. I ordered more than one pair and got the same great consistency in size which is hard to say in most brands nowadays.

I love these boots! I wanted something warm and easy to slip on, like Uggs, but not actual Uggs because I do not like the look of them (too sloppy & house-slipper-like). These are exactly what I wanted. They are lightweight, cosy, and easy to slip on and off, plus they are soft and fuzzy inside so you can even wear them without socks if you are in a hurry to get to Pilates class; but they look much more stylish. I am pretty much always a size 7½ but I heeded the advice of other reviewers that these ran large and got a 7. They fit perfectly even with socks and look great with skinny jeans or leggings. I like that they are not overly wide and sloppy around the ankle like some short boots are.

These are soft on the inside. No socks needed. I have a wider toe box and narrow heel. These did not slip on me at all when I walked. I wear a 9 and ordered 9 and found them true to size.

These are sooo adorable!! I purchased the sage/silver color in a size 7. They fit great, room for thicker socks. I normally wear 7 in most boots, other shoes sometimes 6 1/2. They are very snuggly comfortable. I have just recieved them, so have not worn out of house yet, but see no problems ahead on that score. This color is beautiful! The only sage part is in the patterned back portion. The suede part is a beautiful fawn color! I fell in love with these online and they are even better in person!

I bought these for fall. They go great with jeans and leggings. Super cute and comfy. Very warm too!

I'm very happy with this boot. It's not clunky or heavy. It looks great with leggings. Best for moderately cold days. I'm in Maine and boot season is fall, winter, and spring. Each season needs its own boot. The Newbie will get worn plenty. It's more comfortable than my Uggs and has a funky style I like. I am a size 9. I had to return them for an 81/2, which fit with room for a mid weight sock. Autumn hikes, apres ski, around town chores are when you'll grab the Newbie. And I love Zappos! They are so accommodating getting a different size. I had it the next day!

Great quality boots - nice and warm for a trip to the grocery store in winter. Great no slip soles. I bought these for my daughters for Christmas and they were thrilled.

Love the lightweight feel for running around town. Very warm. Insoles are removable, which I like because I need to use orthotics. A great alternate to Uggs for a lighter weight, but warm boot. I get a lot of compliments.

I love these boots! They are nice olive green color. Inside is extremely warm and soft. They look great with leggings or jeans. They have a low profile which probably would not keep snow out but they are perfect for slipping on and running errands.

These are awesome! I thought I was ordering black because my iPhone screen is so small! But the blue is gorgeous! Also, very cozy and warm and fit is true to size. I am thinking about ordering another pair in a different color because so comfortable!
