Bag is comfortable on the back and the look of the bag matches the photo. The inside material is black which is different than what is shown in this video. The main zipper and the back zipper work perfectly. The two zippers on the side are hard to open and close which I would not expect from a bag at this price. It should be smooth, but due to the way the zipper is sewn in, the inside panels get in the way and create jagged edges which make the side pockets difficult to impossible to close. Also the back of the bag has huge divets/wrinkles that make it look saggy although the front looks structured and nice. Good travel bag, just don't put anything you need easily accessible in the side pockets, they are almost wasteful due to the zippers.

I have always been a fan of backpacks, but found them to be too casual for work or going out. When I saw the styling of this bag, I knew I had to have it! The leather is buttery soft, and the fringe and hardware make it look a little badass. It's functional and very stylish. I do wish the back zipper pocket was deeper to accommodate my large 6+ phone, but otherwise it's a good size to fit my essentials. I may get another color as a backup - I know I will be carrying this for years to come!

I’ve moved to using backpacks due to shoulder and neck pain from shoulder bags, and wanted a dressier option in my closet. The leather of the deep slate is beautiful, as is the dark chrome hardware. But, I am disappointed that the interior is black which makes it impossible to see inside the bag, and it doesn’t have the interior slip pockets noted on the video, which would be useful for keeping items from falling to the bottom of the bag. The side pockets also seem kinda small, I cant even fit sunglasses in a cloth cover inside them. The back pocket is deep enough for my iphone and mini wallet. Overall I’m disappointed with the interior of the bag and feel at this price point it should have a lighter interior and slip pockets. Will be returning this one and hoping they improve it in the future.

I had originally bought the Julian backpack in nylon, and I still love it, but I wanted something a little more polished so I decided to get the leather version. I like that this one has inner pockets, because the nylon one does not. The leather feels really good and the backpack is comfortable to wear. The only thing I don't like is that the compartment in the back isn't as roomy, nor is the zipper as long as the nylon version so i can't store as much in there and getting things in and out is a little harder. Its still great for both everyday and travel and can hold a lot of stuff.

I thought at first that this bag might be too big, but after finally just getting it, I really love it. I have it in navy with gunmetal hardware and it's just amazing. I can't recommend it enough. It fits my iPad Pro, sunglasses case, lotion, gum, reusable bag, and still room for more. In the back zippered pocket I put my wristlet and pens. And the side pockets I'll keep my headphones on one side and chopsticks and creams on the other. With all that nonsense in my bag, it's still pretty light. It sits nicely on my back and is buttery soft and smells delicious.

This really seems like the perfect “nice” backpack for travel and work! It’s so roomy in both the main compartment and the pockets. The overall size is between a mini backpack and school backpack. I love how you can secure the main zip by hooking the clasp on top - perfect for safe travel on public transit. The leather is also super soft. My only grip is that the interior is also black making it very dark inside. Wish it had a lighter lining!

I love this bag. I have it in the tan leather. Would have kept this one also but I wanted it with the silver hardware. This one had gold. Had to order from another site.

This is the perfect backpack. Leather is soft and supple. I highly recommend. I bought in black. This backpack looks good for any age.

I originally purchased the medium Julian backpack but returned it because it was too small. This bag is the perfect size. It’s smaller than it appears in the photo on the model, which I think is a good thing. The pebbled leather is beautiful, and I love the gold hardware. The quality is excellent and so is the style. This is already my new favorite bag of all time.

Very cute! Perfect size for a purse replacement, but a little too small for a true Daypack if needing to carry extra layers of clothes or multiple electronics. Should be perfect for my week in San Francisco as a replacement for a crossbody!

I LOVE this bag. I've carried a vintage leather backpack for the last 5 years and needed a replacement, as it's starting to wear out. This bag is comfortable, roomy, stylish, and will last 10 years, easily. The leather was a tad stiff out of the box but softened after only a couple of days. I'm ordering a 2nd one in brown. Highly recommend.

I love this cute backpack. A little more style than a boring pack. Great for trips/flying... Gives you an extra hand for carrying other goodies!

This is the best backpack purse made. It is comfortable and cool. I have other designer brands who’s straps dig into my shoulder after a few hours. This one does not. It’s roomy, has adequate pockets and the long pull strings make it easy to get into while still on your shoulder. I do wish they’d make the pebbled leather with silver or dark grey metal zippers and pulls. The gold is a bit flashy for me. They do make a different kind of leather with silver but that leather looks plasticky and cheap. I only recommend s the pebbled leather in this bag, it is soft and beautiful. I’ve tried the other and returned it because it’s very reflective and cheap looking.

Love the Julian backpack. I ordered the gold hardware version from Zappos and the silver version from Nordstrom, as they were the versions on sale at each place. The bag has internal organization, although it’s all black inside. The outside back pocket is a full size pocket in the gold hardware version (fits my iPhone 7 Plus) but is significantly smaller in the silver hardware version I received - could not zip up the pocket with the 7 Plus inside. While I worry a bit about having my valuables on my back where I can’t see them, this bag can be clipped up to the top, which covers the zipper and makes it harder for someone to pickpocket and the back outside pocket is a nice place to put the phone and zip it up, also harder to just grab.

I already own a Rebecca Minkoff crossbody. I purchased this bag since it went on sale despite some negative reviews. I will say I’m disappointed in the leather of this bag. It is very hard and thick feeling. It’s not buttery flexible or soft. I don’t mind a pebbly look but I don’t like the structured look with this style bag. I think it looks and feels better slouchy but that’s just me. If you want a structured Julian than you’ll like this one. Maybe this leather is meant to soften a little with time? Not sure but anything is possible. For reference I purchased the black with silver tone hardware.

This is a fantastic bag, but I didn’t love the leather on the one I chose.

I was disappointed in the thick rough black leather of this bag. The leather was too rugged looking in style and quality. The knapsack straps were too thick and stiff. The bag was also too casual looking. Michael Kors knapsack bags are much nicer in leather quality and appearance. This bag is not a keeper for me.

I wanted this bag on recommendation from a friend who has a gorgeous pearl colored one that she's used for years. Hers is buttery soft and smooth. The one I got in the mail (Black4) felt like a cheap bag from a discount store. The straps are stiff and rough on the edges. The leather is plasticky, and the zippers are not easy to open and close. I was very disappointed in the quality. I like the backpack idea, it's truly great. But this bag is very cheap feeling. I had read another review about thinking they had gotten a knockoff, so I did some footwork. I went to my local Nordstrom, determined to find a 'real' one. Well, the one on the shelf there was exactly the same. Stiff, rough, cheap feeling. So, sadly I'm returning this pack. The size is nice and the idea is nice. And actually I can see how someone would love this bag for years if it didn't feel like vinyl. I also don't buy the line that the leather will get softer with time. I've had expensive bags and none of them have started off this stiff. I ended up with another R Minkoff bag (bought at Nordstrom) and the leather is delicious. It's like butter. This bag is a sad member of the collection as far as I can see.

I really wanted this bag in black pebble with dark hardware, currently shown as Black 9. The issue is the bag I received was a previously, heavily used bag with an odor and tons of wear. The bag had no tags, no dustbin, no stuffing inside. It was like it was sent from a second hand shop. Total disappointment in Zappos quality control. The bag was also sold out, when I purchased it it said "only 1 left" -- now its back in stock, so I don't know if its the same bag I returned or if its been restocked now. Very disappointing.

Love the size and shape of this bag but very disappointed in the quality. So much so that i thought i received a knock off. I have other Rebecca Minkoff bags and the leather quality is soft and rich. This bag feels like pleather. The straps are stiff and the hardware is tough to open and close. The side zippers do not close all the way and the hook latch does not open. It's misaligned so you have to wiggle it to get it to release. In the pictures this bag looks soft and floppy. Hoping this is just a bad batch. Zappos is sending another one. Fingers crossed.

Love this backpack purse! I’ve owned two other backpack purse by this brand but they were not leather. This is such a high quality purse. The leather is sturdy and a bit stiff so the bag holds its shape. I love the functionality and the stylish design. This item was so week packed that it took me a good 10 minutes to unwrap it fully and remove all the protection.

LOVE this purse/backpack. It takes a beating and never gets scratched or beat up looking. It fits tons of stuff and I get a lot of compliments on how nice it looks. for people who carry a lot of stuff or travel its great to lug around without getting a sore shoulder or back. Also, if you are clever, you can make it look like a purse in a pinch.

This is exactly what I wanted! I have been looking for a purse / backpack that is functional and stylish..this one is perfect for me. The pebbled leather is soft but yet the backpack maintains its shape. I have gotten so many compliments for this bag! 5 stars!

Most comfortable, spacious and stylish backpack. It’s my 4th one. Love how easy it is to get in and out of while still slung over the shoulder. Wide straps don’t dig in at all.
